Problem with new mods

This likely shows how out touch I am, but has the mod version been updated to 1.71?  I have added a few new mods recently, but none showed up in game.  So I checked and that was the main difference I found.  I edited the version back to 1.70 and the mods showed up, apparently working okay.

Now, is this dangerous to my long term health?  Is there a way or script to revert the mods safely?  Am I worrying over nothing?

 

Edit:  I should mention that I'm using Skyrim 1.5.970.

Yes it was changed in one of the latest patches. Manually editing the version could work, but if the mod uses any other new functions or the new extended ESL range you'll find more issues. Use this instead, out of the box compatibility without needing to edit each individual plugin.
