I've seen threads in forums from the past by people who work with Unreal Engine complaining about this kind of issue with skeletons. Nonetheless, the Tifa Miko port has the Tifa ND skeleton implemented correctly for the bounciness, so it's possible. This model uses two of the spine bones vertex group to pull up and down weight from the breast, each managing half of the mesh's boob part, these being the upper boob and under boob. At the same time, the whole boob (the same two upper and under parts but together now) have their own vertex groups (left and right boob) with it's own weight. The vanilla model that comes from the untouched game also does this same thing with the weights and vertex groups, with the difference that they cover the parts where Tifa has her clothes (suspender, bikini, etc), and also they cover way less surface due to the boob reduction that SquareEnix made to her. Seeing this, I followed one tutorial that showed the correct booby weight distribution for perfect booby bounciness: more weight at the nipple (the furthest part of the breast from the body) to make that part more bouncy compared to the rest of the boob. Here, a couple of screenshots to show this, the one with the red niple part is the correct one for perfect bounciness, the other with green weight paint is the how it comes with the game and that's why the boob breaks in half during animations. This is was I was up to learning (fighting with blender, lol), I Frankensteined a new THICC version of the Tifa ND mod. It will be ready once I figure out the bouncy physics and textures. This is how the THICC version looks (Miko Tifa port for the butt part Frankensteined with Tifa ND for the boobs part; the best butt and the bests boobs togetha'!). The vanila "official" game physics are not enough for Tifa's real (and canonical) boob size. I vehemently believe that making Tifa's boobs bigger and bouncy is not modding, it's a correction. SquareEnix was the one who modded Tifa to a smaller size. This is incredible. I was sad to see that the original Tifa ND mod got deleted by the author as I just started out with Final Fantasy on PC. Then I found this post and can't believe someone is really working on a port for Rebirth. Also checking back a few pages to see where and how this whole process started. Massive respect for learning it all from scratch - you're a hero! I instantly had to buy rebirth knowing this mod will come to the new game finally!
pepejpn Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 @k_owtheru @aki1403 Thank you! I started from scratch a few weeks ago, and I try to make advances whenever I have the time. Thankfully, one or two people who really know their stuff have given me good tips to make the mod better over time, even after I finish it. Also, you can try it yourselves! There are good tutorials out there. You won't get hired at Pixar or Industrial Light & Magic by following them, but it may be enough to get started, and it is fun!... if you have enough time. The people who made those are the real heroes. In the meantime, there is a good port of a Thicc Tifa mod in a bikini here, a few pages back (Miko-Tifa). It was made by another modder, it is waaay better than the vanilla Tifa from the untouched game for starters.
k_owtheru Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 @pepejpn Yes thanks, I've seen the miko-tifa mod port - definitely gonna try it out! Modding Rebirth myself has also been something I thought about. I once created a simple Street fighter outfit mod and it was quite a rewarding feeling once I managed to make it work after 6~7 days studying re engine, blender etc. Even tho I forgot most of the stuff I learnt by then, I can totally relate to your experience. As for the Tifa ND port, are you including the Original ND body type along the thicc version in the final port?
v00d00 Posted June 3, 2025 Posted June 3, 2025 I have been trying to create an Aerith mod in Unreal so that I can attempt to put physics on it. My previous modding was done in Skyrim which basically holds your hand through the process. I used Last_Ghost_Gaming's tutorial video to create my mod, but the body is showing up black. I triple checked that I put the textures where he said to but maybe someone more experienced than me will know what I did wrong. Once I get the body right, I am going to use his second video to hopefully create a decent lewd Aerith with physics. 2
pepejpn Posted June 3, 2025 Posted June 3, 2025 @k_owtheru Yes, I will include the THICC version, the original version, and later a possible third one. It shouldn't be difficult because they all will be using the same materials and physics. I need to find the time to sit through it. 2
pepejpn Posted June 3, 2025 Posted June 3, 2025 @v00d00 It seems like you may have skipped adding the materials AND all the texture image files as data assets in the last part. If Aerith is showing black in-game, you likely skipped something in Unreal. If you see her black (grey really) in Unreal before you cook the pak file, it is because Unreal doesn't have materials preview, even though you have assigned them correctly. There are 2 videos from Last_Ghost about FFRebirth. One is only 10 minutes long, the other is more than an hour, which is the one that worked for me. Here it is, just in case. 3

No rush, quality over quantity, take as much time as needed and don't stop until you are satisfied and you'll get it! I was hoping that you would release multiple versions I'm gonna try all of them. I like the butt from the Miko mod, using it until there is a ND available, and badass idea of combining both. For me the original ND mod feels like the bod that Tifa would have with the bust size that she should have. Butt we'll see... both are great. 2
cucumbersalads Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 project for the side been doing. thiccccc. still polishing up bounce and ass jiggle but it's coming along. 18

Yes, that is the one I tried to use. I'll give it another go this weekend.

v00d00 Posted June 10, 2025 Posted June 10, 2025 Okay, I learned how to make physics mods by following Last_Ghost's jiggle video, and have gotten pretty good at refining the movement. What I have absolutely no idea how to do is create a nude mesh and texture. So at this point, I have a sfw Aerith mod with jiggle, but I need a video that shows how to make the nude meshes and textures. Can anyone recommend a video for that? 1

After reading your reply, I went and added jiggle physics to my favorite Aerith mod. For some reason the body textures are blocky and I tried everything I can think of the get the smooth skin. It's a learning process.

To add jiggle to Aerith, you can fuse Tifa armature to Aerith. and add weightpaint to breast jiggle bones. as for the blocky texture, have you checked shade smooth face when exporting to FBX?

I just started learning to mod last week, so I don't know anything beyond the tutorial I tried following. I will look into that shade smooth face. As for the jiggle, I actually find it very easy to make a new animation, so I don't need to copy in Tifa's jiggle. I let you know how the shade smooth face works out.
pepejpn Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 @Sebas14 Still in WIP. Her hair doesn't clip anymore, and everything animates as it should in-game, but now, her elbows warp after I added the animations and file driver, and it's getting me nuts. I know it's related to her physics animations because it didn't happen before that. I'm also using a mod to hide her globes, but that ain't either. It must be some weight paint, bone, or something around that area. If nothing weird like this appears (weird for my first-time-ass at least), I will be able to work faster on it. 2

I think it's weight paint issue, maybe your jiggle bones have influence on that vertices 1
pepejpn Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 That seems to be the culprit. There are a ton of vertex groups with weight paint around that same area. I'd need to try different versions to see if nothing else gets messed up 😥Maybe just try to transfer weights from a striped vanilla model to avoid any more issues, and then remake or transfer the weights just for the breasts. Thank you @hawkins85
hawkins85 Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 @pepejpnit's better to fix it manually, cek your vertex group that have jiggle, and delete excess weight using subtract brush & activate auto normalize
pepejpn Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 @hawkins85 Thank you for that tip. I will check that auto normalize settings and see what it does. Right now I'm getting merged vertices all over Tifa's mesh whenever they are close. I got sealed lips and also bridges in the thigh gap in the Thicc version, because they are touching in that mesh. And all this after checking everything: automerge off, mirror off, doing the weight transfer with the right settings (face interpolated, mix mode replace, source by name, destination all layers), also deleting all vertex groups and removing modifiers on the destination mesh. I even downloaded a few weight transfer plugins to check results, but they only help for smoothing transitions it seems. Now I understand why everybody complains about weight paint. Thanks hawkins85, good to know that you are over here too.
hawkins85 Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 (edited) @pepejpnas long you don't edit face vertices (no merge, add), you can transfer vertex group from original mesh for part that touching like thighs, separate it first before applying weigh tansfer Edited June 12, 2025 by hawkins85 2
v00d00 Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 I solved my blocky textures issue with the help of more experienced modders. Turns out it was an issue with the normals when importing the .fbx. I don't know how long it is going to take me, but if it moves and it is female and has a unique model in this game, I am going to be giving it jiggle physics. Anything I create is going to be posted here before Nexus Mods because this has been more modder friendly. I will be going for realistic proportions and motion. There are plenty of talented modders already doing the xl and xxl versions. 3
