Double Body Bug in First Person

Recommended Posts

I'm getting this double body bug where in first person I can see my characters' breasts, but they're stiff and kind of torpedo'd. This only happens with modded armors, however. The vanilla armors (even though replaced with BD's revealing armors) look fine in first person. I'm aware this has something to do with the first person body, but lack the knowledge on how to fix it. I'm using Improved Camera, but these overlay themselves over the body. Crouching also has them staying up and my first person camera going into them.
The armors shown in the screenshots are the Dracania armor and F.Series 8.

Try this. If it doesn't do it then it's likely related to outfit meshes in particular or your Improved Camera settings (if that's what you're using, if not then whichever other mod you use to add a 1st person body).

That did work to an extend, no more torpedo boobs when I look down, but I still have some of the armor in the way. I think this would be the collar of the Dracania armor.

Okay so yes, this did work to an extent, however any body armor that adds something that wraps around the neck can still be seen in first person. This screenshot shows H2135's Fantasy Series 8 armor, just the cuirass. While the chest part is hidden, I can still see the part of the armor that wraps around my characters' neck.

It might the outfit files in particular then. The real fix would be to correct all the outfit meshes. With that, even the regular XPMSSE skeleton + Improved Camera should work as intended.

You shouldn't delete the chest piece from the outfit though, only the 1st person files. Most outfits don't contain 1st person bodyslide files or if they do you'll notice they are just arms already.

I didn't mean to imply I deleted them. The Dracania armor had zaps for the cloth top, which extended up to my characters' neck and had a bit of a collar.

I wouldn't know the first thing about correcting the meshes though.

Typically people see this issue when they transition from JOP to Improved Camera, because they do not clean up the mesh changes made by JOP.

Editing the mesh would only be relevant in the cases where the armor you're wearing is built for a mod like JOP. In that case, if you want to continue using it, you'd have to edit the mesh to remove the 3rd person body from the 1st person mesh.

I'd be careful with that skeleton mod you downloaded. Its a workaround that sweeps the real problem under the rug. It gets rid of the problem, but this is the sort of thing you need to remember you have in your load order, otherwise you'll be back here in 6 months. When it comes to skeletons, you want to stick to the standard ones.

So if you've cleaned up JOP (and any similar mods), and don't want to edit the mesh of your current armor, then another option would be to completely delete the 1st person model field from the ARMA record of that armor. Use xEdit for this. You may lose the sleeves of that armor by doing this, but you also don't get the warped body. This is still a workaround obviously, but it will only come back to bite you in the ass if you reinstall the armor mod and forget about the changes you made to the esp.

It's still an XPMSSE skeleton. Only with a single node set to zero. And only for the first person. The one for 3rd person is untouched.

I don't use Joy of Perspective, as I've heard a lot of bad stuff about the mod and choose not to use it when there seems to be better alternatives on nexus already. I used Improved Camera https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/93962

I have this same exact thing happen when using the bikini armors from Tawoba and many other modded armors. I'll look into cleaning up some of the arma records in xedit.

You got the variants made for JOP then. You can have JOP meshes without installing JOP.
