Hello, I can't find the tattoos in game despite the packages being with all the other tattoo mods that work, any pointer would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hiya! They should be at the tattoo section, with my thumbnail, like this:

You may try to temporary move all your mods, except my tattoos, to another folder, and test if you'll be able to see my tattoo in CAS. Let me know if that helped you!

I'm dumbfounded, I had noticed earlier that I couldn't seem to find some of my previously used tattoo mods (like the loaded character had the tattoo on them, but I couldn't find it in the list again when I wanted to reapply it after a change)

I have removed every other mod beside you 4 files, and I have cleared the game's caches.Β

On a new game, the tattoos still do not appear. I am at a loss..

Do you have any idea by chance ?

I have tried:

Disabling/re-enabling "Allow custom content" in the options -> Did not work

Loading each package individually in case they would somehow break one another -> 1 & 2 did not work so I did not bother trying 3 & 4

Re-downloading the packages just in case they were badly downloaded somehow -> Nope

I've try loading a different tattoo mod at the same time and that other one appears.. I'm confused.

This is weird to be honest. I've just tested them on the latest game version and everything works correctly for both genders. There are two tattoos in the upper back category, one in lower back, and one in front (lower) - the latest was in upper chest category by mistake, I've just updated it.

Β

Try to deleteΒ localthumbcache andΒ localthumbtexturecache in your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder and re-download them. Do you use the latest version of the game? Do you have all the DLCs? DLC's should not be the issue since my tattoos are base game compatible, but I really don't know what else to ask...

First of all thank you for taking the time of testing.

I've tried with no effect

No the last one I got is the ranch one

Well now I'm thinking of backing up saves and mods, then nuking the whole game to start from a fresh install and re-enable mods in batches to see what work and what doesn't because while I tested I noticed other mods that wouldn't appear. I think my game is haunted.

I've even tried renaming your files to remove special characters such as [ and ]

I think it's safe to say that at this point it's a lost cause and might as well reinstall.

Β

Thank you very much for taking the time to try and help, though.

Hey, just letting you know that I :

  • Nuked and reinstalled the game from scratch (clean install)
  • Launched the game once without mods
  • Quit
  • Copied the mod files over from my backup
  • Launched the game again

It now works, I can see and use all 4 of your packages. Thank you and great work.

Glad to know that it works for you, so the problem seemed to be about the game itself. Have fun with tattoos and feel free to check out my other mods!

Any secret trick to making these work on a older version of the game? I'm currently on 1.112 and newer tats dont show up... Perhaps a simple value I can change in S4Studio or something?

Hmm, I'm not sure to be honest... you can try to export texture files with tattoos, then open the tattoo package that works for you or make a new one that will work, and import textures thereΒ πŸ€”
