gooboo Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I've run into a strange problem with one of my saves, and I don't know how to fix it. Whenever I try to take my character's clothes or armor off, the game ctds. Now here is the weird thing- this doesn't happen with my other savegames. My other characters can frolic around in the nude all they want and nothing happens. I can put on and take off any armor or item and the game doesn't crash. However, with this character if I try to take off the torso/cuirass portion of my armor, the game just stops working. Now, I can switch between different outfits just fine, it's only when I try to take it off and not wear anything does the game crash. I've tried out some different solutions, but none of them have worked- 1. I thought the problem might be the femalebody_1/0 meshes, but I'm not sure that's the issue. When I replace my armor nifs with the female nude body nif, it loads up just fine. Still, when I try to take the "nude armor" mesh off and not wear anything, it still crashes. This just doesn't make sense to me, considering the "nude armor" mesh and the regular nude body would be exactly the same. 2. When I replaced my femalebody_1 mesh with an older, unweighted version, I can take everything off as I normally would, so there's something the game doesn't like about my newer tbbp body. However, like I mentioned earlier, if I take a set of armor/clothing and replace it with a renamed (tbbp) femalebody_1 file, the tbbp body works just fine. The game loads up and everything on the tbbp body bounces/jiggles as it should, it's just when I go to my inventory and try to take everything off does the game stop working. 3. It isn't the walking and running animations. I tried loading up my savegame with all of my custom animations deactivated, and this still happened. Why would my tbbp weighted body mesh work for some characters, and not others? I've gotten it to work on older saves, but it just won't work on this one. It's quite bizarre. It won't work on any of saves for this particular character, so it's not like I have a backup I can go to.
bzald Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I had the same problem, finally had to do a reinstall of game with that in mind you may have a tab ticked that says put on this nude body suit over your regular nude body which I think is what caused my crash but not sure. It could be interfering with a mod you have in play which then CTD you, only a guess for now.
Kaz Aanh Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I had a similar problem some time ago. I've fixed it by installing a new body-compatible skeleton.nif . I don't know if it helps but worth a try.
gooboo Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 Tried installing the latest xp32 skeleton, didn't work. Still ctds whenever I take my clothes off. I can still get naked with other characters, just not this one. Totally stumped. I suppose it's not the end of the world, though. I guess I'll just have to make a "nude suit" for this character in the ck and have her wear it whenever she wants to get naked. Unless someone else knows what's wrong, I think that might be my best solution.
Veladarius Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Is your character a custom race? Many of them have their own set of bodies and skeletons separate from the vanilla races.
gooboo Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 No, she's a wood elf. I don't use any custom races.
ClopitolOffense Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I had same general issue: RESOLVED *in my case* i have dozens if not hundreds of mods active - The Joy of Perspective - i installed that after XP32 skeleton mathingy *it seems to have overwritten some skeletons*. i uninstalled XP32 skeleton in NMM and reinstalled it - there was an option for TJoP mod - checked that and POOF it works no more CTD on disrobing Chest armor this is probably a very late reply but i just discovered this after a long break from Skyrim hope this helps future endeavours
TheTraveler Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I have NO idea whats going on. I installed the unpb body like i always do. I then install the XPMS like I always do. I can take off the gloves and boots. The moment I try to remove the chest armor... crash. I have no idea whay there are no skeleton nifs in the character folder. There also seems to be a missing character assests folder. Granted this is hte first time I'm using MO and I'm not liking it. Never had issues like this with NMM. This is driving me batty. Edit: Brand new PC with window 8. Already getting pissed at this OS. Skyrim not being able to just be transferred between PCs is pissing me off to no end.
Rayblue Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Dunno, as in the case of Windows 7, make sure Steam and Skyrim isn't installed in Program Files (because of compatibility problems) but elsewhere besides Program Files (x86) if Win8 is 64 bit.

Check that there is no lightning bolt beside the skeleton. If there is, and there's a minus sign, you found the problem. Just double click the skeleton mod in the left pane, a new window opens, choose the conflicts tab and then whatever is overwriting the skeleton needs to be dragged and dropped into a location above it in the list. If this isn't the case then are you using a custom race? If not then uninstall both the body mesh and the skeleton then reinstall them from good archives.
J055Y Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I know this is a very late reply, but I wanted to post this just for future reference, hope that someone finds it useful. I had exactly the same problem and so I completely uninstalled skyrim, nmm and mo which didnt work, so i went about deleting different bits and bobs until it worked. I went into my Skyrim\Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets folder and deleted all files inside, then my character's body reset and could walk in the nude :3
TheIlluminati Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Not sure if it's active, i got fixed this by removing Realistic Forcee from the game.

You actually helped me with a completely different problem.
