They probably just want to squeeze more money out of Oblivion and that's it. My guess is that it will look slightly better than original, with a few minor fixes taken straight from the unofficial patches. Something similar to Fallout 4's "next gen" update.

 

I hope they leave the original game alone, no shitty patches breaking most of the mods out there. Just release the remake and leave old Oblivion untouched. Just leave it alone.

So you want BGS to do something it has never done with a patch?  The last Fallout 3 patch for Steam should have proven that to be impossible.

 

This is a cash grab to sell Oblivion on the current consoles.

That would make for an interesting earnings report/firing season from Microsoft.  Starfield bombed and there aren't enough new platforms being introduced to keep releasing Skyrim versions.

 

Man, it would make what happened to BioWare after their las flop seem like a small department shakeup.
