Maybe make an alternative account on steam and use that one for mods, keep the main account without mods to get the rewards, skins, coins and re enable them when you play with the second one, most mods change the default skin and all characters are unlocked, so you wouldn't lose much if you play in an account with nothing in it

There hasn't been a game update since I played last night and I wasn't banned for using skin mods when i played at that time, so I get the feeling they used something else too.

You'll be fine for now, just loaded the game with the mods without issue, they did something else that wasn't skin mods for that ban.

I held back on modding before, but now I'm hesitant. I'm sure that guy had more than just cosmetic, but until someone reports back on having just those and still being banned they'll sit in the backup folder.

well i havent spent any money on the game, and I prefer overwatch, so I'm willing to keep modding this game until the game tells me to stop. I've got a feeling even if they do crack down on mods, it's not gonna be a perma-ban - probably just what overwatch/riot do, which is prevent the game from being opened if the files have been altered.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone devised a bypass so we could keep our skin mods, but i think client-side only skin mods are the last mods they'd crack down on, if they even decide to crack down on it.

I was playing all morning, I even modified, I put the Luna Snow mod with Drake's song, I played until 12 am (Argentina) and I didn't have any problems

My personal opinion is that they are not going to crack down on mods, the game has 20 million active players and most people don't know about them. I mean hell they literally made the models easy for people to modify, they know what they're doing. The I imagine it will be like FFXIV or Genshin where it's a "See no evil" situation and you most likely won't get banned unless you're posting clips with your username in it (Which I've already seen done and those ppl weren't banned).

also microkini squirrel girl got an update, only thing i think that should be dealt with is her skin texture meshes better with her head, because it still looks slightly off

Been playing a few matches today, still modded and not even any warnings about the mods. I'm willing to bet that guy probably was one of the ones who tried modding the config post patch or was doing something else and wants to blame it on the mods as typical idiots that hack games do.

I have 10 pak mods installed, either this guy is trolling or used 3rd party software and NOT simply just pak mods. I'm just fine and wont stop. If I get banned I'll be the lab rat cause I have other games I can play if they decide to ban a paying customer for nothing.

I just closed the game because it crashed, I was playing with mods and absolutely nothing happened, no warning or penalty at all.

yeah, i only have like 3, filling the entire folder with packs is obviously going to raise some false flags somewhere, that is why i dont even want the jiggle physics

one of your mods might be bad, if there's jiggle physics in game there's an issue with dr strange, but also i have just had random crashes in-game before due to seemingly nothing

 

also watch for mods that might lag your game out for some reason, for instance fem spiderman when i played as the character would constantly freeze and it was such a bad match for me i had to take the mod off
