*update with full sexoutstore check* Ran into snag during install of SCR

So I'm installing the resources for SCR and ran into a little confusion. Ritualclarity's tutorial indicates to install the old maternity clothes files from the "old version re-upload" thread, but also indicates that there is an update to the maternity clothes pack somewhere.  I cannot find that update anywhere.  Help? Thanks.

Just install the reupload, the update doesn't exist yet.

Not the current under development maternity thread. The second post is where you get the instructions on how to install it. Different from the previous process as there are two files to download intead of 4 or more files to download. The process is the same. Extract everything until you find  the "Textures Folder" files and the "Mesh Folder" files (you will find them after opening the "data" folder)

 

If it is a link issue that confuses you the link in the tutorial under "Step 3" is the correct link. No other link is correct or should be used. There are two files and those files are the current correct files. Instructions to install them is on the second post.

 

Sorry for any confusion on this. I haven't changed the tutorial yet to reflect the new files since many are still using the "old version" from when the tutorial was created. Sometime in the future I should move the instructions from the second post in the tech support thread to the main post.

Ah got it. On a side note when I try to equip the dragongirl dresses and a couple other things the player's body goes invisible. Double checked my install process twice. Ideas?

You haven't installed those meshes properly.

Here's a question, does the SCR fomod created during the install process re copy the resource files on every startup or only on activation in fomm? I'm wondering if I can manually install the errored meshes without redoing the entire SCR process?

Yeah, I know, I meant with ritualclarity's tutorial, where you go through and d/l all the resources (including dragongirl), then make a fomod out of it and install it to fomm. If I try to manually overwrite the dragongirl meshes in data/meshes from my backup archive of the original dragongirl d/l, will it use those, or does the fomod activated in fomm overwrite/use the ones in its archive each startup?

I just tried copy/pasting the meshes for dragongirl from my archive to the dragongirl folder in nv, overwriting the ones that scr resources fomod had installed, and it still causes invisibility in game. So I don't think I installed the meshes incorrectly. Is there some incompatibility? The only req I see on the dragongirl page is it says you need Body from Optional Player Bodies from Body by Race OR whole Body by Race mod

 

Do I have to install that body mod just to get the dresses to work? Won't that screw other stuff up?

I think I figured it out. The link in ritualclarity's tutorial uses takes you to here, whose dragongirl file was last updated august 2011, but if you go here, the file was updated 10/26/11. Sexoutstore uses the newer file which includes several different colors, etc. I'm about to test my theory, will report back.

 

Edit: Yep, I was right. Use THIS link to install the dragongirl files - sexoutstore uses them (the ones that install to jonasclothes folder), not the dragongirl files from this link.  There's still some stuff missing in sexoutstore like icons and stuff - I'm going to have to do a full purchase & check to resolve the issues.

Just a note: SexoutStore doesn't actually "use" any version. The records are all in SCR, the Store merely references them.

Right I understand that. So now I'm trying to resolve the missing meshes for summer rags & sunny's slave rags...proving difficult... Because even though it doesn't "use" them, if the reference directory & scr filepaths don't match up, missing meshes occur. Not having a list of the filepaths sexoutstore "references" makes it hard to figure out where to put missing meshes.

I promise I'm not trying to complain or be a pain in the rear, I'm just trying to troubleshoot is all - you guys clearly have done a lot of work on this project & I appreciate it, I'm just working out the kinks is all.

I still can't figure out the summer rags or sunny slave rags meshes. I've gone over my SCR install dozens of times - everything from the tutorial is there. I'm just trying to figure out where sexoutstore is pulling from...

Even went through the process twice to make sure.  Please take a look below and see if you can assist me in resolving any of this stuff. The link that you state works is also on Halstroms page. There are two DragonGirls and the one used for the tutorial should be the same as the one Jonas66 uses as it was the files from that page. As the creator of the compilation of files used his Dragon Girl Dress.

Strange that hundreds of people have downloaded it and haven't had any problems with it.  Are you stating that there are different Dragon girl dresses that arent' showing up in Sexout Store? That likely would be the Purple version. If so I will have to add this to the tutorial. Can I get someone to seperatly confirm this? Halstrom? Zippy? I just want to be sure that there are some records r/t this because if so the loading order of the resources would then be important. This being the last so that it could overwrite the previous one. Yes Zippy I could them them not to install that folder when they extract them.. we both know how most readers follow the instructions. (Not including the OP.. )

 

The Summer Rags if memory serves me correctly didn't show up in my game as well. I tried to search it out even before I made the tutorial and couldn't find where or why it was missing. (could have been slave rags). Other than that everything worked just fine in my folder.

 

As for the other resources I can't tell you much else as I am not a modder and don't even have the GECK installed on my computer to check the records if I could even figure out how to do so in the first place. (quickly and effectivly I am sure I could figure it out in due time) That being said. As long as you have the GSB, Toys, Tryout Pack installed most of what you need for the mods used today should be covered properly. The added Mantis, Dragon Girl and others are just for fun and as far as I know aren't used for any Sexout mods currently.

 

SCR is the most complex part of Sexout installation. Many of the files are actually optional so long as you don't run a mod that accesses the textures. It is the nature of the beast. Without SCR someone would have 10, 15, 20 mods just to support Sexout with clothing and other accessories. Quickly bringing them closer to the "plugin limit" making it impossible for many to run the many mods that they desire.

The store is showing all of the options, but the file you link to is old.  The BB Dragon Girl Dress file listed under "updates" at the link from your tutorial is an old version of the dragon girl dress files, it contains 2 nif files & four texture files. If you're just downloading dragongirl and not jonas' entire kristys closet compilation (like for use with sexoutstore or whatever), use the file here. That fixed the dragongirl issue for me, as it contains several more files and the folder structure appears to match up with sexoutstore's references. Also, I subsequently installed jonas' kristys closet compilation here. The dragongirl stuff stayed intact, so an easier / more fulfilling option might just be to tell people to install the kristys closet. As long as it doesn't generate other problems, I'm still running some testing.

SCR isn't my mod and the tutorial is based off of that. I can't officially endorse Kristie's files. I am aware that the files are there and I have used that mod as well and found no problems with the mod and SCR working. No overwriting or other issues. It should work and have worked so far for me.

What body are you using? This issue is most likely due to you using one that is not what the items were designed for.

Flashing textures occur when the correct texture is missing. Check your data folder for: textures/Sexout/MantisReColors/black/TorsoBlack.dds
