The Version of Sexlab I Install Always Reads As Wrong Version.

So I installed The Phoenix Flavor modpack on wabbajack and after some tinkering I added Sexlab and stuff like matchmaker. The Phoenix Flavor runs an old version of SE, 1.5.97.0.8, the version on the Sexlab page for SE should theoretically work, yet when I install it, the MCM menu says its v166 which is for AE and the mod wont work. Thinking that maybe files got mixed up Ive completely deleted it and retried it with again, what should be the right version, but it still says its an AE version. I even downloaded the beta version pinned in the comment that was released before AE was and that still says its for AE so I am wildly confused as to what I've done wrong.

1.63 Beta9 is an old version. You want 1.63. Full release, no extra letters, pharses or numbers. Same download page as AE, just make sure to get the correct file from downloads:

I don't even know where you got Beta9 at this point. It was removed when 1.63 was released.

For Skyrim Special Edition (1.5.97, aka SE) use SexLabFrameworkSE_v163.7z

Yeah as I said, I tried that version and had the issue that in game it said it was version 166 for AE so I tried every other version to see if it would work

Are you 100% sure it was Sexlab v163?

Just loaded up a version of Skyrim and installed v163 from the SL download page and it says its v163 in the MCM

make sure you're downloading the version that's at the top of the downloads page from 2021. if you're still having issues, try putting SL at the bottom of you're load order to make sure nothing is overwriting it.

when downloaded the file should be called "SexLabFrameworkSE_v163.zip"

I understand the frustration. You have over 16k+ posts from the past 8 years, which is an average of just under 6 posts a day, so you've clearly had your fair share of "helping" people with their problems that have obvious solutions and dealing with other little shits on your conversation boards. but that doesn't justify being a little shit when trying to help people. Noone is forcing you to help them, so if you cant control your urge to be a little shit, then just ignore the post. also, sometimes the "obvious solution" isn't the correct solution as its not the problem

Errm actually I posted a link to the mod and a quote from the mod page whereas you told us what you had done.

That menu item is drawn in sslConfigMenu, it calls GetStringVer to get the verison number. This function calls SexLabUtil.GetStringVer which is a global function which simply returns a verison number string:

So your issue is that some other mod which loads after SL overwrites either sslConfigMenu.pex or SexLabUtil.pex. Make sure all files are provided by SL, and not any random "hat & dildo" mods.
