Ngl, Ecthelion needs to tell some of his staff/moderators to chill the fuck out and keep them in check. One of the staff gave access to the mod channels by allowing users to react to a post(even though the channels were hidden to protect the server) and got reported 6 times then called everyone who reacted to the post to view mods a rat and demands their UID and Discord user is fucked up. Ecthelion even says that it wasn't his idea to demand UID/Discord usernames. Ecthelion is just letting them do whatever they want even if it scorns innocent users in the server.

The "react to get role" was a bait, basically filtering the suspects down to about 2000 people. Those are the numbers we can swallow to keep the server up and running.

Thanks for proving my point, do NOT trust the people running the ZZZ MOD Community discord. Our class clown here just admitted that there is no valid reason for needing the UID on top of "baiting" innocent users into getting banned (because I'm positive all 2,000 of those people were totally "rats"). Absolutely embarrassing behavior.

edit: It looks like the server has been deleted. since discord carries that kind of risk, why not try setting one up on telegram next time?

Making a form of "bait" like this unnecessarily put the server/mod posters at risk. Not only did the moderator who did this get reported 6 times they also risked other mod posters getting reported. Willingly sacrificing 1999 users really instills a sense of trust in your community

There's still no word on whether Safe Zone will return or if there are any other mod servers. I found it a bit easier to search for mods through Safe Zone because everything was a little more organized, haha.

And why was it a bait again? I mean, the message appears, and we are asked to do it, and we do it, and then being called a rat? Sorry, I don't use Discord much, so I'm not sure how this works.

 

Also, being asked to show our UID with mods really smells fishy to me, feeling like we're being used as leverage, and when something bad happens, we can be thrown under the bus

With each post, I'm increasingly convinced that "Safe Zone" was the most welcoming and decent server, with adequate moderation and a pleasant community. In addition to the posts of these two people, I'd like to add, or rather, reiterate my previous words: Never show your UID during verification, as this not only violates the first rule of modding, but also exposes users to unnecessary risk. Since mods are officially prohibited by the Hoyo user agreement, you have no legal protection against "accidental UID leaks," as there is NO guarantee that the server moderator will delete this data, rather than store it for themselves! Moreover, seeing how poorly the ZZZ MOD Community's moderators handle damage control, and their furious (but foolish) attempts to convince people that this step is being taken for their own safety and the server's, is alarming and raises suspicions. "Could the moderators or someone on the ZZZ MOD Community staff be somehow involved in the removal of The Safe Zone? Its removal would literally deprive its users of choice. Those who prefer to have all their mods in one place and sorted would actually have to come to them, perform this seemingly absurd verification, and then use this data to manipulate certain mod creators or their users." I'm not directly accusing the moderators or the ZZZ MOD Community staff, but this all seems a bit too strange and suspicious...
