I recently found a mod that merged caverabbit's megalodon mod and hazeker's bottom heavy mod but removed the weapon and eyes fx from the megalodon mod and am hoping there is someone out there who could restore it

It's fairly simple; the hardest part is to crop it properly so that it looks good along all the edges.
After that, copy what you just cropped to a new layer, make that layer a "grain merge", and make it completely black.
Then copy that layer again into a 3rd layer, make that layer "soft light", you can adjust the opacity of it, I turned it to 70% for that showcase.
Then turn up the saturation on the original skin (layer 1) to make it less ashy.

Again, the most labour-intensive part is the cropping; the rest is just turning a few knobs and knowing which ones to turn.

As for saving that texture, you'd still have to use paint.net, GIMP doesn't really work with those formats, but it's as simple as copying from GIMP over to paint.net .

XXMI is way better for running mods.

Put it in JuFufuMicrobikini\resources 
resources.rar

Select the desired model in the archives and replace the JuFufuHairADiffuse.dds file, if you need an oil effect it is in the Oily effect archive, for the body (well visible), hair (barely noticeable) and ears (noticeable) if you need to return everything to the original, this is the Vanilla all (Back To Origin) archive.

This mod allows you to change the color, in order to completely change the hair type, you need to change the model of hair itself, unfortunately I can't do that. So I can only provide this option
