The saved sliderpresets actually work pretty well; I used it many times by now and it never screwed up for me so far.

Sorry that there seems to be no other way around; except maybe you could try to cure vampirism completely and then get infected again.

You don't need to try to recreate the face of your character, use this mod

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15307/?

just make sure to have the same load order, or your hair won't show up.

For the vampire eye colour, I use The Eyes of beauty, an change the eyevampire_01.dds, and eyevampire_02.dds, for the ones with the colour I use, that way when I become a vampire I retain my eye colour

The saved slot doesn't work with this one

I tested it

Hopefully next time that program will do the work

I tried the new game thing with all unofficial patches

Same problem

Hazel fucking eyes

Well actually they are yellow now

But the base ones are lost

At least you tried and earned my respect and gratitude in doing so Thulas, you're officially more than a BBoF spammer now  :P

Something even more strange is that now I have an eye texture that's entirely white... no color, no alpha map, just white, and it's the first one on the eye color list

Selecting the supposed preset I saved, gives the char-gen those eyes

One savegame actually had the human form, I asked Serana to do the trick cause you need to be a vampire to finish the Dawnguard thing

Every time it happens

Brown eyes

There's no escaping it

I'll get the cure after it's done

I still prefere "Kingqueen of the BBoF" than "spammer". :D

Have you checked the CK if there are the headdatas of these white eyes?

Another idea came to my mind, by the way: It should be possible to use the applied eyes DVA uses, but you simply replace the textures with the eyes you want to use. Might work that way.

I think my current XP level is insufficient to mess with the CK

I think the only solution would be to find out what's the name of the vampire eye texture and replace that one

It certainly is not eyevampire_01/02.dds, those are the textures vampire eyes should use but they are not used unless a mod is applied like Glowing eyes or DVA, in which case the vampire eye texture and eye model changes to full glow

Instead it uses the brown or yellow texture all the time, that's the real base vampire eye

Again the human color:

How it looks with starvation eyes from DVA

The "real" vampire eyes the system considers to be "original" or "base" for a vampire with no glowing eyes

And the look of the glowing eyes using eyevampire_01/02.dds texture and glowing model, activated only via mods

Whenever I use any fix until now that supposedly changes the brown eyes I get permanent glowing eyes instead of human

The theory is if I could identify the name of the real vampire eye texture I could replace it... but I have no idea what it is

And bonus track, first eye texture gone missing

I think you will find 4 textures you will have to replace; if I am not fooling myself it were 4 DVA uses, so keep an eye out for that. You might want to check if the MCM ingame also directs you to the files you search.

You are attacked on sight if you hit the last rank of not feeding it doesn't matter if they are friends or not you walk into vampire lords castle with it maxed they too will attack you which I think is pretty dang stupid I mean their vampires I'm a vampire I don't see the problem or reason that they should also attack you on sight. To prevent yourself from hitting the last rank go to a building outside of a town and go in and feed a few times another good way to feed is to have a follower with and use the seduction spell or whatever it is and then feed off of your follower.

There are some mods on the nexus that when you become a vampire/vampire lord you will retain your looks which is better then the ugly ass faces they give you.

There are also some vampire lord transformation mods that let you tranform but instead of using the females vampire lord body it uses your players body and head instead which looks way better then ugly vampire lord body and a few on LL as well.

Another cool option in the dawnguard DLC is if you are married before becoming a vampire later on in the vampire side quests you will get one where you will have to go a turn your lover to the dark side(meaning you have to bite them and make them a vampire)

I put BVLT on and ran BOSS, which told me this there are unexpected or out of order files and that it should be removed. Is this bad? Should I still try using it?

Another question noted ^

On my experiments I finally found out who was responsible for the white eye

It was this mod. Which i found to be out of the most peculiar thing since it's a freaking clothing mod!!

I'm not usually very much into skimpy clothes or other sexual content, immersion and awesomeness are my things, however one small lingerie mod doesn't harm right? and I think is classy and sexy... now why the hell is it putting a white eye in my char gen???

That's the only thing I could find out... I cleaned everything and re installed it one by one and I still couldn't get rid OF THE BLOODY BROWN EYES!!!!!!!  :@  :@  :@

I guess I have them hard-coded

And I couldn't see the dds files in DVA either... It tells me some corrupt message or something... guess I could swap the starving eyes for the intended ones, but I grew sick of this. Fuck it. I'm getting the cure

Posted

Yeah I'm using Better vampires too

I read some place that the brown eye problem could be related to using character generation mods...

And the base of the whole thing is Enhanced Character Edit... sorry but without that everything goes to hell. That mod is untouchable

Now I really hate brown eyes in Skyrim... I think I'm gonna kill everyone with brown eyes from now on... at least for a while

As for the brown eye texture I wish I could locate it but I don't know how

I can't browse dds files from bsa's cause for some reason everything I attempt to extract comes out corrupt either if it is from the game or from a downloaded bsa from a mod... I just don't know how to handle Skyrim bsa's

If i can't locate the name of the darn thing, I can't replace it, so I'm still stuck

Posted

I'm not sure what's the cause of the brown eyes you want to get rid of, but if your goal is to replace their color you can use Fallout 3 Archive Utility to browse Skyrim's .bsa files to extract or see the file path. Yes, it works perfectly fine even if they're not FO3 .bsas, here's the link: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/34/?

Now, the path for Skyrim's eyes .dds textures is "textures/actors/character/eyes" and from what it shows in the Skyrim - Texture.bsa, most likely the brown eyes file is "eyebrown.dds".

Either extract it from the .bsa and recolor it how you see fit, or simply use a custom eye texture of your choice from any mod and rename it to "eyebrown.dds" in the respective "textures/actors/character/eyes" folder. Just create the folders yourself if you have some missing.

Also be sure add normal maps if the eye texture of your choice comes with that, and rename it to "eyebrown_n.dds".

I had a breakthrough

Now I'm 100% positively sure who to blame

ECE changes the "normal" vampire eye path to brown eyes

Testing the game with only those patches and nothing more results in normal vampire eyes being glowy

Only after activating ECE, normal eyes become the brown option

Now that utility finally allowed me to extract usable/viewable versions of the vanilla eyes

I discarded most of the obvious names like khajiit, dark elf and argonian prefixes for the eyes so somewhere between the 34 remaining files one should be the brown one that needs to be replaced...

Posted

Ahhh!!

Hell yeah!

I finally flushed the fucker out

Sorry for all the language

I need to express myself sometimes

So the final finding is that ECE replaces the equipped eye in vampires which was meant to be eyevampire_01/02.dds to... (drumming)

eyehazelbrown.dds

Now with DVA all options are available, the "human" which was intended to be brown but now ITS NOT muahahahah!

The staged red eyes and the yellow night vision ones.

Thank you all very much for your help at every step!

^_^

Now being a vampire is finally a decent thing
