Read EA TOS concerning any creation posted to the Sims in game gallery... 

Anything post there is free use and the original creator has no say in what you do with it from there..

That's not the point. If it's the work of someone else (IE that of SOMEONE OTHER than EA Maxis), you can't just Reno it & upload it somewhere without giving PROPER ATTRIBUTION. That's (At THE VERY least) disrespectful

 

How would YOU like if if someone modified some of YOUR work & uploaded it somewhere for sharing as if it their own??

With all due respect, the OP, BabyBeeSims, didn't say she would not give attribution. She just offered to share the design since you had asked about it. She's a veteran LL user with over 4 years of LL activity. She's probably cool about such things.

Chill man... Everything, or Sim you or I, or anyone creates using in game stuff belongs to EA PERIOD... 

EA allows us all to post this stuff an mods and all that for THEIR game here and everywhere else...

I'm just pointing there MANY (Outside of LL) who don't like their work modified & re-uploaded & then (To add insult to injury) passed off as their own complete work (When in fact it is not)

 

Why do you think that when you download something from The Gallery, you will sometimes see the words Original By followed the EA ID??

 

That means what you're seeing is not the original thing & if you want to see the original for comparison or whatever, you'll have to find it

 

As for EA Maxis itself, they really don't care as they kinda sorta expect their work to be modified & re-uploaded on & off The Gallery but those are builds & sims are in the game to serve their own purpose

 

To promote what their selling. Take the Lovestruck Household for example. They were created by EA Maxis to promote the Lovestruck pack. With people buying this pack, this purpose has long since been served

 

As for the Household, do you REALLY think EA Maxis GIVES A FUCK what we do with it now??

 

The rest of The Sims Community outside LL is different. While they acknowledged the rule & the specific part you highlighted (They had to), it's only proper you give them attribution for it (Find their Patreon, Curseforge or something - Especially places where they get revenue from)

 

Not using that as an attribution link = money out of their pocket

 

Now do you see my point??

I have coma across many Sims posted into the in game gallery with write ups saying "this is mine STOP STEALING.... Blah blah blah..." 

literally none of that means anything if it is on that gallery period! 

 

Once again... posted on there it belongs to EA................................................................. end of line...............

Yeah BUT attribution should still be given to the creator EVEN THOUGH once it's uploaded to The Gallery, it legally belongs to EA (Which is why EVEN EA acknowledges this by putting the word By followed by the EA ID in the post)

 

This also absolves them of any remaining legal responsibility because they didn't create it. And as long it doesn't violate their TOS IN OTHER WAYS, it's safe for uploading

 

The TOS doesn't absolve you of the common sense thing of simply giving attribution to a build or household creator if it's not EA Maxis.  This is FAR DIFFERENT than the "Stop stealing" cries you're referring to as those who do that don't have a case if they know it for the same reason that you just pointed out

 

Those often come from builders & other creators who use NOTHING BUT CC to create their stuff which you find on Curseforge, MTS, Patreon & other places where THEY WOULD likely have a case because EA doesn't control that (Nor is it a part of that)

This went absolutely sideways in the most unnecessary way. People download my sims all the time and I bet they use them all the time without anyway to link the sim back to me. Do I care? Not really. Now does that mean I wouldn't credit someone's lot that I completely redid? Not at all because I would credit them. But who the fuck cares?
