How hard is it to mod Fallout 4?

Hey guys,

I've been modding my Skyrim SE for a long time now and I'm fairly comfortable adding new mods etc. It took me a while to set it all up and caused many headaches.

I have already had a play-through of FO4 and used some mods from NMM but never from here, however it's been a long time and I'm sure the mods are out of date. Therefore I already have FO4 set up on MO2 with LOOT (which weirdly can only be accessed through the Skyrim instance.) I don't mind doing a fresh game install.

 

My question is, is it hard or easy to set up FO4 to play adult mods from here or not?

I have looked at "The Fucking Manual" ~ Adult oriented setup guide, and I must say that it isn't very clear at all.

Honestly, Skyrim took me a long time to get right and I'm a bit apprehensive to go through it again for FO4 but I have seen some MODs that I would really like to try.

Ehrlich gesagt hat es bei Skyrim lange gedauert, bis ich es richtig hinbekommen habe, und ich habe ein bisschen Angst, es für FO4 noch einmal durchzugehen, aber ich habe einige MODs gesehen, die ich wirklich gerne ausprobieren würde.

It's not that easy for sure. Buuut, once you get the hang of it, and your knowledge increases, it's a lot easier.

You'll also find out that not everything in the TFM is "required" or even necessary. The accuracy is a bit off and very biased, but it will get you up and running.

Then you can start exploring and tweaking your setup.

I'd also strongly suggest rolling back your game IF you allowed Steam to update it to the Next Gen patch. You'll have less garbage and access to far more mods.

Thank you, but as I said, I have already seen that. Maybe you could point out the link on that post to the detailed instructions.

I did follow the Skyrim instructions as it was very clear for me.

As I haven't played it in a while, I'm sure steam will have it updated to present.

Don't try to do it all at once. Break it into logical stages and don't move on until you know everything is working and you more or less understand what it's doing.

Each of these points listed individually in the instructions means a learning curve that can only be mastered in days or weeks.

 

You have a process of at least 2-3 months ahead of you until you have a Fallout - in which you can "fuck around" to your heart's content... it works differently than in Skyrim - and you have to learn what is different first.

 

You also have to keep solving problems yourself - because the community here is much smaller than in Skyrim.

 

And if you are afraid of upgrading... either learn how to slow down Steam by doing something like that on your PC (instructions are also available here)... or learn how to downgrade the game... but without learning - learning a lot - you won't get by here.
