Game Devs, Please...

Just a thread to comment on/complain about the general state of the industry top down viewpoint or to call out a specific dev for something the did or keep doing in/with their games you don't like or like very much and want to see more of.

 

Mine is a general plea to the industry (I hate referring to Art like that really). More niche. Less blah mainstream please. Games look better now mostly, but don't seem nearly as much fun as they maybe could be if studios tried out more new ideas. Talented, competent programmers, storytellers, artist only please. And for fucks sake, stop politicizing games or making a social statement about current affairs. Entertainment is about forgetting all that stuff. Escapism.

sometimes i open a game do a quick free roam if it's open world or swipe through weapons & game options, true games are not fun anymore. maybe that started when they tried to make games that try to appeal both men & women at the same time.

I think this is more like a social issue. These days people are too prudish/scared to get sued or something. When someone goes to court to say this game is too violent blah blah blah or watever they should just get kicked out of the court, not get a hearing. I mean Skyrim has almost everything that is evil. I am certain there are plenty of people back then that spoke against the game saying many bad things. Back then people still had the brains to ignore these people. What we get as a result of these studios/developers listening to these people is socialy correct games that feel bland and without inspiration.

The fact that we have such a "visually powerful" Internet today - in other words that it is no longer text-based - is actually thanks to the porn industry!

The fact that there will be a counter-development at some point is nothing new for sociologists and can be proven with many examples in the history of the last 2-3,000 years.

And if that's still not enough blood and violence and bestial sex for you - just go into reality... I would recommend the Gaza Strip.

So could it be that quite a few people are looking for a counterpart to the madness that surrounds them in reality?
