Slay the Spire - Echidna


Adds a new charater to Slay the Spire along with 70+ new cards.

 

This mod add the character Echidna from Queen's Blade series. Not exactly sticking to canon.
Playstyle includes a lot of self debuffs and powerful buffs like Regen.
 
New Mechanics:
Bondage
Gain Strength and Dexterity, Discard or Exhaust cards that requires hands. Grows stronger at 5/10/15/25 stacks.
 
Apply poison to yourself and heal it for buffs.
 
Generous Regen in kit, but has lower base HP.
 
- 105 Cards, counting status and choice cards.
- 12 Powers (Buffs/Debuffs)
- 1 spicy event.
- 7 Character specific relic.
 
Card Types/Tags.
None: the default for some cards.
Hands: Will be discarded/exhausted with Bondage.
Mouth: Various effects.
Legs: Main focus on damage.
 
Treasure Chest: huge quest card filled with RNG, permanent buffs and debuffs, 15 possible outcomes.
 
 
Installation:
Put it on the mods folder in the game directory, might need to be subribed to the usual sts mods: stslib, basemod, modthespire.
 
Other notes:
- 'Drain Buff' will only steal buffs from the base game that applies to the player, if I missed any, please tell me.
- Max HP from starter relic is limited to 2 per fight.
- Screenshots probably outdated, will try to upload new ones once I add more cards.

Bug I saw in my run was that Helplessly Deadly relic kept getting added every time I hit 25 bondage. So I had like 5 or so by the time of the heart. Not sure if they all applied their effect or if its just graphical/ui bug but it was something I saw

Thanks for the feedback, yes, it is intentional, might limit it to 1 or remove it completly if it is OP, what do you think?

Ah if it's intentional that's fine. I just thought it may have been a bug. She seems balanced, too. Which is hard to do so good job on that. Was fun bouncing between high poison stacks and regen. Once got up to like 20 regen with 20 poison stacks so it was a constant push and pull.

Bug i saw in my run was that the card Living Restraints not half your Bondage but incrise  it but half. Also Helplessly Deadly always applies double your enegie as posion even if u use all of it or half same with armor i think. Sry for my bad english. It is a fun mod

You are correct, I think I forgot an extra minus there for Living Restraints, and Helplessly Deadly checks current energy now, hopefully. Also it does NOT stack and you won't get another copy, just to clear confusion.

What are the possible outcomes for the teasure quest??

I have been playing this mod for a while now, and I got the treasure. I have been trying to get the 15% positive outcome treasure, but I've received a lot of -5 max HP penalties. Now I got a Slime Trap. Is the Slime Trap the 15% bonus? Are there multiple bad outcomes for each one?

It's a damn shame this isn't getting more attention, this is absolutely the most fun, balanced and interestingly designed character in the entire game. Balancing your poison, bondage and regen is hilarious, and I constantly bounce between "Oh, I'm dying" and "Oh, I'm fine." which is incredible. Add on top of that the top tier art, and this stands to be StS's best mod ever. If you ever make your own card game, ping me. I would play it in a heartbeat if it has this level of care and intrigue to it.

//open: success: Heal 8 HP, 20Gold. Fail: explode:3 poison, exhaust a card

//kick open: temporary upgraded discounted card, random potion, Fail: reduce max HP by 1, permenant slime remains

Some changed a bit, these were my ideas when making it.

 

Thanks guys, I was thinking about Luna luna from the same series, with egg laying things, but I am kinda out of ideas.

Also I am thinking of making a SFW charater based on "Death Mark" card from this mod. Too bad I don't have much time.

 

Some other players thought the charater was too weak, I think it is fine, if you notice something too weak or almost useless, please tell.

 

Personally I thought The Watcher was too weak, with the wrath stance, or maybe I am not good when playing her. Seems to me, the stance is good for final turn in the battle, otherwise, you are dead, or regret it and pray to get calm stance next turn without wasting much resources.

I am actually making games as a hobby, but never finished one, had one plateformer game a decade ago, probably lost the files, then tried a runner game for mobile with suggestive theme were you eat random stuff, a 3rd person shooter sci-fi resident evil with detachable limbs, and RPGMaker game: focus on gameplay, and lewd things secondary. and smaller things that didnt make it to a playable demo.

 

Made few mods for Rimworld, tried my hand at skyrim, didn't like the creation kit, felt like a chore rather than fun.

After having played with your StS mod, I can honestly say I would be happy to try any of those games whether they reached a demo-able state or not. I get the vibe though, no push to suddenly pivot into hardcore game dev. I'm just genuinely curious and from what I've seen so far I like your style. Also, much as I enjoyed modded Skyrim back in the day, they really did everything they could to kick the modding community repeatedly in the nuts so like... yeah. No love for Bethesda from me these days.

Always glad to see more Slay the Spire mods, especially the lewd ones! I feel like this sets the exact right amount of complexity. The Shion mod on the Workshop is pretty damn good, but some of the gameplay loops in it hurt my brain at times.

Sorry, I'll look into it, it tells me it is just got noticed now that the card is kinda weak as it rarely gets picked, I'll guess I'll buff it a bit as well.

Yeah, I feel it is needlessly complicated, every charater has 3 5 lines passives, 

 

Buffed tempting fate, also fixed a bug with it.

Sure, give me some ideas, current card amount seems fair, I can add few more, without dilluting the pool too much.

 

Or maybe another new character, I was thinking making a new one based on "egg infestations", but some of the ideas required changing enemies/ enemy moveset which I couldn't do with my limited knowledge, maybe I'll skip over these for now.

 

Give me some ideas, what do you think is missing/lacking?

Damn this is great! Are you going to make an even more NSFW mod? More nudity? More NSFW action cards? Sex fighting like with cards like titjob, blowy, handjob, vaginal, vaginal clench, rapebait, masterbate, etc... Maybe they could be stances with actions associated with each. Or just alot cards with some vag and nips showing would be nice. 

 

TBH this mod is great and I'm happy but like every human ever I crave more. I know you purposely didn't take the NSFW all the way so I'm not getting my hopes up.

I like the idea of greed you put in the treasure and the event of the cave. More events would be great.

 

And greedy cards or events with NSFW content would be appreciated.

 

Ideas (good or bad) at random :

 

- (BDSM) Tentacle fusion : Having a living creature inside with tentacles coming out of the character's holes dealing her damage but attcking the ennemy multiples times.

- Fingering herself -> becoming wet -> gaining slippery, avoiding incoming  damages

- (Bdsm) Pierced boobies : Receive damages, acquire strength (you can use ideas and assets from "the Warrior", they'll do great with her).

- Sacrifying event, amputation (require to have a drawing of the characters with missing limbs for the reste of the game) : Sacrifice a limb for gold/damage boost/relics/..

- (Bdsm) Buttplug : armor every turn (like orichalc but without the restriction), inflicting 1 damage.

- Relics : Iron lady. Gain armor, lose hp (yeah, i like the mechanic of the warrior winning strength while losing HP).

 

She lacks a bit of damage for the late stage of the tower, i'm stuck around lvl 10 currently.

 

Aaaand, more drawing would be good too. There's something with the "poison" (the milk) not being strong enough to be played.

Personally, I like to see the NSFW things as an optional side dish, full fledged sex system would be too hard to incorporate with STS battle style/engine. There is a decent game on steam called: Colony City 27λ, you might find what you are looking for there, just a bit of a warning, the battle system is a bit more complex, and it's art is focus on sex scenes. There is also Tamer Vale, which is pretty good and closer to STS.

I absolutly wish I can make more events, but they take too much time, this one took about a week or so. The text code is confusing and hard to work with. I'll try adding more.

I like some of your ideas, might either incorprate some in Echidna or the new mod, some might require new mechanics, that is hard to do into an existing character, i'll check out the warrior too.

 

EDIT: I don't see "the warrior" mod, you mean the Ironclad?

I dont play on ascension much, how would you suggest to deal with it? what do other classes have? In my experience most damage/utility comes from relics, if you manage to find the correct relics and stuff. The base game relics.

Well, i just achieved lvl 11 with mods and 4 of your relics so i guess i have to get lucky.

 

There is one of your rare cards that add poison to you when you play hand cards. This thing kills the player quicker than monsters. You should make it give you the card that retain poison in another card, or the milk card. otherwise it's useless in early stage of the game.

 

I like your teaser, i hope i'll be able to play it. You got good ideas and a real sense of balancing overall. Well played !
