Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Yeah I always found the games funny in that regard. The Templars are the bad guys yet the Assassins (a group that KILLS people for money) are the good guys. >_<
dashing Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Yeah, that is sorta crude belief, they have assassin in their title, so they seem evil
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Being good or evil is purely a matter of perspective. Both the Assassins and Templars think they are the good guys and that their opposition is Evil. I personally view them both as Equal in that regard seeing as they are both willing to kill to get their way.
squall1151 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I only just got the game, it is good I haven't played it for long at all but I love the start of it, compard to 3. im enjoying the freedum! makes me think of skyrim.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ship combat is fun but once you get the elite Mortar ship combat becomes to easy as you can take out most ships in one or two shots. The Galleons are the only ones that you got to work on at that point.
dashing Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ah, yes everyone thinks their enemies are evil, and visa-versa
windpl Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 If you take in to account that there are god like "aliens" in game then everything can happen, maybe both parties are "good" guys
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Technically Juno's race weren't Aliens they were the first race making humans (their creations) the second race. Their race in general seemed to be fair for the most part. However, Juno is obviously insane and very evil.
Wheelhouse Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I got this on PS4 launch night (in the US - so 2 weeks ago), and, for the most part, loved it.  I'm not an AC fan (stopped about 10 hours into AC1 because I was so bored with it) and haven't played anything since, but this game was well worth the price. Sadly, I've played so much I'm going to go for platinum (3 trophies left - 55 in MP and I'm 40, play all modes/use all abilities and ranged in MP, and 100% mission constraints).  That last one - the 100% mission constraints - will be my undoing, though. When I finished the game, I had 32 missions I hadn't gotten the bonus objectives, and now I'm down to 20. I thought that, easily, the worst part of this game was the missions (or perhaps the story of Kenway - the betrayals made no sense, and the falling apart of the Nassau confed happened, for me, RIGHT AFTER I TOOK ALL THE FORTS, found all the plans, upgraded my ship fully, and killed 3 of the 4 legendary ships.  But the open world part of this game is pretty amazing, and I loved the hell out of the naval combat. Really enjoyed Kenway's Fleet minigame, and am having a LOT of fun in the Wolfpack multiplayer.  The missions, though, for me, reminded me why I didn't like AC1. For a stealth-based game, IMO, AC has a pretty bad stealth system/stealth mechanics. And the missions had nonsensical constraints, too. Like the one I just replayed, they were knock out 3 guards, get all the chests, and the main mission objectve was "don't get caught" or you desynched. Yet at the end of the mission you ALWAYS get caught. So it seems, to me, that it's stupid to design a level where you are supposed to be stealthy, and yet you'll always fail. But if you fail too soon, you REALLY fail. Not to mention the ones where you had to tail someone (and not get caught), yet as soon as you get to the destination, you suddenly have to kill him.  But still, well worth the price, IMO. I'm intrigued by AC3 now, and enjoyed Aveline's 3 missions more than most non-naval Kenway missions.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I admit some of the missions where you had to be stealthy were hard to pull off because of the sheer amount of guards they had in the areas but they were not impossible. Honestly the hardest stealth mission was when you had to go through the assassins camp to get to James Kidd that mission drove me nuts!!!
Wheelhouse Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I admit some of the missions where you had to be stealthy were hard to pull off because of the sheer amount of guards they had in the areas but they were not impossible. Honestly the hardest stealth mission was when you had to go through the assassins camp to get to James Kidd that mission drove me nuts!!!  That's the one I was referencing here.  I just redid it (because in my main playthrough I only got 3/4 chests - and I hated doing it), and the main constraint (that would cause you to desynch) was to not be spotted.  And as soon as you reach Kidd 3 Assassins walk up behind you and smack you. So what was the point of not being spotted?  Too many missions like that (seems bad design to me).  I'll end up redoing them all (well the 20 I have left) for the platinum, but I'm having a ton more fun on Wolfpack MP. Just unlocked difficult and hardcore mode (by completing all 8 through 25 sequences once in standard), but looks like the only way to play the harder levels is a private match. Â
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Well with the end it's understandable Ah Tabai is the Assassin leader  given his age and experience it's not hard to believe that he knew you were there and wanted to judge your abilities. That particular mission I didn't really have issues with it until I got to the point where that rifleman is, that's where I kept getting caught.
Lodakai Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 The game is alot of fun.. th only thing missing in the AC games for me is lack of npc and object interaction. Â I wish i could do more with owned property and hand pick my crew.. etc. Â Â Maybe some romance like mass effect style. Â But hey even without these... it's a solid game.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 You mean like they had in I think it was AC 2 and Brotherhood where you could buy shops and land marks then refurbish them? I missed that in AC3 and all they had in AC4 was updating your compound which was severely limited.
Myst42 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Could anybody tell me the story with this? I was kind of resigned when the world ended in slavery the last game and Desmond died He could be boring, but he was still the main Assassin in present day  I had no idea how the hell were they gonna pull this off... is there even something left of a story to tell?  I played AC for the story... maybe it was just me but I'm interested...  I don't care for spoilers I just want to know if the story continues and if it's worth the trouble so I can decide whether or not I want to play it Please? Spoilers of course go on  to prevent people to read what they do not want to read...

sleep in your bed... sit in your chair.. add stuff to your captains cabin to personalize it.  Also being able to customize your crew.. how they dress.. what weapons they use.. etc.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 That would be interesting, Especially with the Captain's Cabin I hated how disorganized it looked. The freaking thing looked more like it was used for storage then where the Captain sleeps and stores his things.
Lodakai Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Other than the cabin and the friggin diving bells.. Â I love everything else =) Â Â And yes... the story is pretty good. Â It is different but good
ObrinMRtel Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 The game is great, I have it 100% completed and I'm curious about the manifest of the instruments of the first will thing that you get after collecting all the sticky notes in the present day...
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 So has anyone played the Freedom Cry DLC yet? I got it yesterday but I haven't played it yet. Â P.s. Something I found rather odd when I was doing another play through. I've done all the Navel Contracts even have the gold guns to prove it but two of my forts are still showing that I have not done a mission.
Angrybird Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Someone should make a real pirate game, kickstart that shit.
spaniel77 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I got the Skull Edition for Christmas and have played up until the first present day part. I like it so far with one crucial exception; optional objectives. I loathe them with a violent, vitriolic and unbridled passion. Looking forward to getting more into it when I can tear myself away from Skyrim.
