Sexlab animations not starting

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

So, my modlist for lewd mods is as follows.

ZAZ animation pack

SLAL

SL defeat

SLAL billys

SL matchmaker

SEXLAB framework

MNC

Horny creaturs of skyrim

MYSLALPACK

FNIS CREATURE

FNIS BEHAVIOR

Sexlab aroused

SkyUI

Xp32

Address library

Jcontainers

Papyrus util

I use vortex for all of my mods, they're all installed through there. Everything works fine, SL installs, the animations are registered, the sounds play, the defeat works, character seem to engage, but when the scenes begin, the actors just clip inside each other and make noises, no actual animation plays.

I'm still relatively new to using these mods, so if anyone could provide me some troubleshooting/solutions, I'd be quite grateful.

It could be an issue with my load order, but I'm not sure.

If anyone thinks I'm missing something or wants more specifics, feel free to ask.

Did you run fnis?

I did run the EXE in the folder..although I'm not entirely sure I did it correctly.

I installed FNIs through vortex, and then did it manually also, running the exe.

I may have messed it up but I've been unable to find an indepth tutorial that isn't over 4 years old

(Haven't seen any that even mention vortex)

If you run it correctly, it will open a window with plenty of details, and a bit of configuration. If you did not end up spending a couple minutes pondering it all, what it means and whether you should tick the optional patches, you most likely did not do it right. Setting up fnis is not hard, but it is not trivial either. Take the time to read and follow the instructions.

I followed a few tutorials and set up FNIS correctly (including the patches, I ticked those also ((skeleton and gender specific), but the animations still don't seem to play, they just remain clipped into each other. I followed 2 different tutorials step by step to make sure I'd done everything right, but it still doesn't work, just looks like this. Not really sure what to do, I have the FNIS data working in vortex, alongside the ability to configure. Not too sure where else to go from here, I'm like 99% sure I installed FNIS correctly cause everything appears as it should

Why don't you copy and paste the full text FNIS gives you after it's done running? That's all the info you need to spot most of the common animation issues. The other half is completing the ingame install of Sexlab and enabling the animations in SLAL (if you have additional animations). For creature animations also make sure you're following the MoreNastyCritters guide and files.

Truth be told I'm quite new to modding, I'm unable to find the text FNIS gives me, I just have it running on vortex and it seems like it's been set up correctly, could you guide me to the Text file and tell me what I should be looking out for?
As for MNC, I have followed the guide and everything is installed as it should be on that front, I'm pretty confident it's an issue with FNIS but I could be wrong

When you run FNIS, a window opens, with:
- pointers to instruction web sites at the very top
- a large text box where it prints execution traces
- a bottom pane with optional "patches" to include/exclude.

The content of the text box, the execution trace, is what we'd be looking for.

This is the full text, although this is from the manual installed version
for the vortex version

Well, there you have it, user error. The FunnyBiz and ZAZ packs you have are not the ones you want. Incompatible animation files will generate broken behavior files and no animations will work until you remove said mods, optionally get and install SE versions of said mods and run FNIS again (this time ideally with no warning or error lines).

Also that FNIS install isn't correct. It should point to \common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\tools..., yours goes to \common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\FNIS Behavior SE  7.6\Data\tools... Extra folders in that path indicate a wrong installation and even with the correct mods you won't make much progress. Fix the FNIS install and the incompatible mods mentioned. Then run FNIS again.
