Possible June release according to Juicehead( A separate video)

June... June would be good...

Juicehead is one of the more accurate prognosticators.

Some of the ship builder and UI stuff has already been done by mods.

From what I gather the ship decorator stuff was really unstable. Derekm17x, creator of DerreTech says as much on the mod page.

It's going to be nice to see it done with proper engine support.

The map feature looks really nice.

Doesn't it though? These both look like things that were supposed to be the game at release, but which they couldn't get stable in time for the deadline.

I played with minimal mods, so never really tried much shipbuilder stuff, or even looked into it.  I figured by the time I go back to Starfield at some point in the distant future, the modding scene would be a lot more mature.  Nice to know there's a semi-official beta CK now, even if it's only being sent out to a select few so far.

And yes, official support for some of these new features will be really nice.

So now what I want to do is take one of those empty 2x3 habs that DerreTech do and decorate it the way I wanted it last time. A few comfy couches, some low level lighting, maybe a cocktail bar. Flashing lights. Maybe a sound emitter playing suitable music.

I might have to mod my own stripper pole though. Anyone know any good dance animations?

:D

Don't forget the girl in a jar (or two) on a shelf.

I'm curious if someone tries it (I'm not currently playing Starfield) is if you can add workstations/beds/whatever to those empty habs that will increase your crew capacity.  Or do the empty habs come with crew slots already?

The new creation kit has already been handed out to some "creators" / mod authors. So seeing something in the next few months makes sense.

I'm quite happy with this update plus what looks like engine fixes behind the scenes with cell borders. So I'm hoping that with those it might lead to new forms of spaceship gameplay/travel as well as underwater movement.

Must admit, I'm enjoying the Beta.

Here#s a few general impressions after a few days' play.

  • Combat seems harder. I haven't fiddled with the combat damage options, so it's not that., and it's not a big change. Just everyone seems to be giving me a little more difficulty than I remember. The Ashta actually gave me a problem!
  • The new map is awesome! You can see what structures are built, find landed ships easily, and spot the temples without having to  rely on the scanner distortion minigame.
  • There are some new encounters. There's a colonist lurks around planetary trait sites taking photos to send home. And on the moon, I found a squad of UC Marines training against a trio of dog robots
  • I've seen a lot more colorful planetary trait sites than I remember.
  • I did one of those escort-the-fool-back-to-his-ship missions and actually enjoyed it! Spent some time playing big game hunter with the local top predators.
  • There seem to be a lot more heat leeches about. They're not *everywhere*, but they seem to show up more often and in greater numbers. I had one zero-gee fight against Ecliptic where the leeches were more of a threat than the mercs.

Overall, it just seems to flow a little better. I never really subscribed to the "released ha;f-finished" theory (at least no more than the usual Bethesda cut content anyway) but the extra polish is starting to show.

Roll on Shattered Space.

, find landed ships easily

Speaking of landed ships: Is it possible to delete landing zones ? Trying to find a good base location on a planet always ended up with so many pointless map markers, any improvements on that front ?

Two ways to do it.

One is to land repeatedly onn the far side of the planet. There's a limit to the numbe of landing sites it keeps, so make enough of them elsewhere and it'll clear them from the area of interest.

Othe other way is:

  • Land at a marker.
  • Get out.
  • Create an outpost beacon as close the the shup as you can.
  • Delete the outpost
  • Get back in the ship
  • Take off

It can be a little fiddly, but it works.

Hope the date is true.

Around that date is the June showcase. So we should see a Shattered Space trailer and an announcement of when they are dropping modding tools and maybe another update on land vehicles. We have news that the kit is already in the hands of some mod authors in beta form. So it should be publicly released soon. Doing so with a combined announcement of Starfield's mod marketplace opening, Creation Club 2.0 (or whatever) at the June showcase would make sense.

First of, that's a troll post mate and yea the Xbox showcase is on June 9.

Now the creation kit, the way I see it is not coming anytime sooner than mid July, cus that is when the next update of the game will be. And no, it is not in beta, it is working. If you see the video about the May update, you can see the the 'vechicle' is in a windowed mode of the game, propably oped byt the CK for preview and they are wotking with the creation kit (look at the taskber). Devs, don't use Beta stuff to create content for the game.

Now if CK is not released in July, they will propably push for after the DLC comes out, witch I estimate is going to be around October or November so... December or early 2025.

Wel I guess they got the "ealry" part. Missed the whole fucking year though.

Now the "Showcase" is once again going to be used for vague bullshit and gaslighting as allways, there is not going to be a Single mention of th 4 studios the just closed down or the games of said studios.

We are going to see another screen about Elder Scroll 6 (propably the same one we saw 4 fucking years ago) and throw some more vague bullshit like "early stage" or "playable" but absolutely no real info or a release date.

They will also talk a bit about other games, like Indiana Jones, Blade...you know, shit we don't really care about (at least I don't) cus they don't have a creation kit, but again no realy info.

They will reasure us that they work hard and tirelessly about new updates to Starfield and ES6, again without Any real info, and if we are lucky we might get a logo for Fallout 5.

And that's about it.

Thank you for coming !

The thing is, I'm finding a ton of new stuff lately. Probably none of it new, but I'm seeing a lot more variety. I think they've been tweaking the RNG settings or the encounter lists.

Bug fixes as well as some additional content.

There's the new empty ship habs.

There's the Decorate module added to the cockpit habs - allowing us to now decorate the insides of our spaceships. Including the Starborn ships.

Thus negating the need for a few mods on Nexus. Bonus that the official decorate module is stable, unlike the mod that included a strong warning about CTD's and the need to save before using.

So far nearly every bug fix patch has also included new content of some for or another.

It's a good game, and it gets better with every update. I have over 780 hours active play time so far since Sept 1 2023.

New update breaks the nifs which most mods I use, mainly clothing and the small 1x1 ship habs mods rely on but most importantly right now it breaks the place doors yourself mod, which I really need for my ships as I refuse to have ships that look nice on the outside while getting a clownesque layout with the crafting stations removed on the inside.

The new maps are nice but right now I'll be keeping steam offline, making a backup and playing through SFSE. I grant the new maps and very basic version of a needs mod are nice as well as the decorator for ships but in general the decorators in this game are worthless because of not allowing anything to overlap or intersect and are still a huge downgrade from Fallout 4.

It is likely that once the CK comes out there actually will be new and better ways to do the stuff I want within a couple of months and that is when I'll move over. Of course no update on when the CK will release to the non creation club modders and the general publlic at this point and I fear it may not be until after the actual DLC. Heck with the CK I could probably update all the mods I really want to use except, sadly, place doors yourself, as I was never very good at scripting myself if need be and they are abandoned by their original authors, until then I'll keep playing the game I have now. Just the better maps aren't worth having a clownesque interior on my hero ship for me.

So either the actual DLC, provided it is good and not another Nuka-world or a couple months after CK release is when I will be moving on and over.
