adle Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 So, i guess i'm done with modding FO4. had thousand of mods, from LL and nexus as well. I was quiet happy with the load order, then suddenly my PC crashed while i was installing a mod. Nothing more than a simple fix. When the PC restarted, all mods where disabled, and sorted alphabeticially. No backups, no nothing. I am very frustrated and i think i wont be able to make it like it was before again. Besides, it would take like shit ton of work. So i will just give up and keep playing skyrim instead, hoping this wont happen there too. Even so profile files, went back to no mods installed (archive) I guess there is nothing i can do except of going trough everything again, activating, sorting, checking mods for load orders and stuff. Would be easier to install completly new i guess. Any body else have a simple solution?
Oldwolf58 Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 you didn't create backups of your load order and mod orders? you should be able to restore from them if they exist. They should be in the profile folder date stamped.

Simpossible_xx Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 How about a complex manual sorting (NSFW mods by The Fucking Manual and other mods by load mod order guide) along with auto-sorting the plugins? It would be more efficient than starting from scratch.
adle Posted April 30, 2024 Author Posted April 30, 2024 yeah well. this is exactly what i did before. i like to have an good overview over my mods. sadly, mo2 fucked everything up. Also all seperators where out of place and randomly. Its sad, cause i did so much.

I am going to be kinda nasty here, but no mo2 did not fuck up your load order, you did by not backing it up, considering how easy it is in mo2, just two clicks on a two icons backs up both your mod order and load order, you simply never bothered, so not mo2 problem, it is a your problem.

Besides that, its nevertheless pretty shitty that MO2 can do such things

Thing is the program gave you the tools to make a backup in case of any issue (user or software related) and you didn't use them. In almost 9 years of using different MO versions I haven't had this problem in particular, yet I always create backups whenever I'm happy with my current modlist or before making major changes.
