Require some help with some Vegas trouble

I have recently decided to try to play New Vegas today with some new lens, as you may guess by the topic of this post, but came across an issue.
Whenever I boot up the game and click play, I get to the first frame, freeze there, then crash out. Now, I know that it isn't a matter of plugins or mods (as far as I know at least) because my mod manager hasn't said so. (Vortex) I know it isn't an issue with my computer, because I tried running the game without any of the mods, and it worked. I know it works with some of the mods I have downloaded already, because I've used them previously. So is there something wrong with Sexout? The other mods I have? Is it possible that it's because my current use of the Xbox copy is causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you followed my guide in "List of Mods" when you installed the mods, because I'm missing a couple of required mods

(Vortex can't see those requirements as not all mods have esp or esm files)

I've been exploring/using the GECK. What's up with no face/body exports (ctrl-F4)? All new NPCs need to be pasty white...in the desert. Is there an easy way around that?

With characters like Delilah who have their own face, body textures...this was an easy fix with Paint.net.

It's just one of those things one would think would have been fixed ages ago. But New Vegas is the red-haired stepchild of the series...

As for the original problem.

 

Yes...the guide! Use the guide. The 3 GB all-in-one install is what you want after the basics are in.

 

Vortex isn't recommended for New Vegas, I believe. Use the Mod Manager listed + install LOOT. They work together.

 

X-Box copy? Could be a problem...just grab one from Steam next sale for like 5 bucks.

Also get New Vegas Ultimate from DogOnPorch's link. The DLC is worth it.

There are a few different bodies available in the mod...generally bigger and even bigger. The clothes are for the smaller of the three sizes. The bigger ones I had to mash together with Nifskope to have any sort of clothing to wear.

Other than some Nifskope additions or removals...I used what comes with the zip. There's a fairly complete set of replacer clothes. The body is similar to...but better looking...than the BBB body that comes with Sexout's all-in-one install. So I just replaced the P0 BBB body with this one.

How'd you suggest I get this all to work? I saw the MCM, do I use that to set up the mods?

Yes, the MSM is the controls. Just go down the list and set things up to your liking. Not everything needs adjusting...just a few things for preference.

Normally, I set-up what I can before leaving Doc Mitchell's office. But somethings don't initialize until you step through the door out into Goodsprings...like Sexual Assault. The body selection is tied to pregnancy. So you'll use whatever pregnant body you choose. BBB for example for bigger tits. You'll note that you can choose different bodies for the player and various main NPCs...then the rest. Third party companions like Willow and Delilah have separate folders for their own bodies...so you could drop whatever you want in those.

 

If you use Robert's male body with the erection, be sure to choose 'none' for  'Use Body Suit?' in Male Clothes...otherwise the men will look odd with the wrong textures on the wrong body etc. Finding Robert's Body WITH an erection might be tricky. I had to search. If you can't find it, I'll post a copy here in this thread. You'll still need the regular Robert's download for the textures.

 

If you run LOOT and apply changes, everything should be in working order. We can be thankful for that as the old way was good old trial and error for the load order.

By the sounds of this, you'd be configuring your mods inside of the game. Is that just what happens or do you use the MSM before launching and bring your mods onto the menu?

Inside. You hit escape. Go to MSM Config...each mod with an MSM is listed there.

 On Nexus, there are various anti-crash mods that assist with stability. They must do the trick as mine never crashes...so far at least.

I have it installed from the stuff on the Mod List guide that was provided earlier, but it starts up, freezes around the Obsidian Entertainment screen, and closes the program.

9 out of 10 times, freezing means you are missing a (soft/hard) requirement.  Make sure to go through the first section of the list again and verify that you didn't skip a step. Also don't forget that mods like SOFA or SexoutCommonResources have extra installation steps. (either on the download page itself or in an extra guide linked in List of Mods)

As dborg says, usually missing a requirement...or you perhaps don't have the latest script extender?  Plus we assume you've d/l ed the Ultimate GOTY Edition of New Vegas rather than the XBox version which is different than the PC version. If that's all true, then go back to the list and be sure you installed everything correctly. DLLs like the stutter remover and such can conflict with any other DLLs that trying to do the same thing...so don't add too many stability mods. That can cause a freeze on start...
