Interweaving Sex and Story/Quests - Skyrim

My goal is simple - to try and influence the early days of Skyrim sexual mods, and coming years of New Vegas into something that is beyond just 'a mod I nstall to watch 3D boobs jiggle'. Into a deep and meaningful experiance in the game, by actually integrating the sex with the quests and stories of the game. Working relationships with NPCs into potentially sexual relationships, where when a young female PC is bribed it may not be just about the gold, and where the PC is actually helpless and more comes from it than someone trying tyo gut them.

I recall scenes from Fallout 2 where if you were female you could use your body to your advantage in the main story to free a captive. Yet, it wasn't that cut and dry. It only paid off half the cost, and you had usually effectively sold your virginity for 500 caps to a sleezy slaver. This was my frst experance with the grim gritty realism that was presented, and frankly I was hooked. You could also have a quick encounter with an NPC, which would swiftly lead to a shotgun wedding and a companion that I actually sought to protect and made my agme deeper.

It's the Game of Thrones effect to put it in more modern context. The books were always popular, but the show has been a smash hit, and it would be naive to think it is purely for the story. The grim and gritty nature of the show is the perfect example of what I see gaming could be, in its own way, and with Skyrim and Sexout I feel that we have a chance at that. I may be wrong and people may disagree, but none the less I thought I would put this fowards and see what came of it.

I'll be posting this in both the Skyrim and Fallout section, because I feel it is an important rant for both games, yet both have potentally different audiances. I feel at this point, it's unlikely to happen for Oblivion, due to its age. Here are my most recent posts that I feel are relevent.

The first post I made was actually about Oblivion, but I feel at this early stage in both Skyrim and to a lesser extent New Vegas's lives it is relevent to them wth Sexout and whatever comes for the snowy land.

I was thinking, and yes it hurt, before anyone snarks. =P

A few mods have shown that it's possible to tinker with the games main quests without breaking it. So sidequests would also be fair game I imagine.

So... how hard would it be to add 'alternate' quest paths?

For example the suicidal guy in the Shivering Isles. He asks you to help him die; what if there was a Lovers option? Give him a 'reason' to live, that resulted the quest stage being set to completed.

Or, if you were silly enough to talk to Rufio before knifing him, rather than just having the default options that send him fleeing, perhaps a hesitant response that hints you are going to let him live 'I can't do it...' and seeing your moment of weakness he rapes your PC.

In the Captain's Cabin that you are to kill; perhaps yet again a less than cold blooded default answer would result in him raping you, while his crew burst in. After it was over it would make killing him a challenge, and you would forfeit the bonus... aside from the mental trauma.

Just things that would make Lovers feel more like a core part of the game and make (role)playing a character that worked by looks and charm more than brute force and agility, well, actually work.

When you infiltrate into the Mythic Dawn cave perhaps you would be expected to put out. To take it further; perhaps an option to help the Argonian escape would be to act as the centerpiece of a gangbang while he snuck off, since fighting your way out may not be an option.

It could be as basic as a few options that don't really effect anything; to avoiding large dungeon crawls that a negotiator wouldn't survive because she put out instead. Perhaps it would acomplish nothing, with the PC just getting used, and the NPC going back on the deal. All part of the fun.

This was inspired by the Neverwinter Nights mod, A Dance with Rogues (and Thomthom noting he had played it), A Game of Thrones, and the translated Dark Bloodlines mod where you can give a blowjob... and find it was for nothing.

Sadly, i'm no scripter. I can build a simple room and tweak how any npc looks and fights, but this would be beyond me, unless it is stupidly simple. I'm an idea rat, sadly. Just another idea on a sea of ideas, which the great modders sail and occasionally reel one in when they arn't crafting their masterpeices. =)

And much more recently, the inspiration to even make this/these thead/s in the 'Best Game of all time!' thread...

A Dance With Rogues, which is amusingly a Neverwinter Nights mod. To the point its actually really damaged my enjoyment of gaming since the closest thing to it is the sexual mods for Bethesda (and New Vegas) games.

I liked the story of being a weakling surrounded by the strong, being the underdog, and I also liked how the story wasn't some massive world saving adventure. It was a personal quest. I found the companions all facinatng in their own ways. I have real affection for the Pia character, and the length if not depth of the romance. Its like a Bioware game with its NPCs, except it dares to tread into the adult situatons aswell.

It also tittilated me, and even though I don't exacly liek the part of myself, i'm a very sexually minded person. If a game doesn't have a damn amazing story, then it had best have gritty sexual elements. That effectively makes 95% of games boring for me, and I really hate that fact. It also made me love playing as a female character to the point of rarely playing males, since that mix of being just as capable as any male character... yet with a certain vulnarability... is amazing fun to play out.

It was the 'game' that made me realise that pretty much all R and M games - no mater how 'adult' - are actually juvanile blood and death fests rather than actually adult. ADwR has gone more 'porn-like' with the last few updates, though it always was a little far over that line with skimpy armor for the sake of skimpy armor, but resembles A Song of Fire and Ice. It doesn't shy away from the brutal and sexual realities of being a woman in a hard world, let alone a dark ages style fantasy world.

Your a young pretty thief. You sneak into a mans home and try to steal something. He catches you. Now, all mainstream games would give you two options for the most part. Kill him, or give him gold. He would then let you go wth the item. Now... A Dance with Rogues was different. You could do both those things, but focus was talking your way out of it, and if you failed a speech test (and sometimes if you didn't) he would demand a 'favor' from the PC.

In most games bandits and raiders are stuck on perma-aggression. No matter who you are, peasant or warlord, they will brainlessly attack you and try to kill you. In one amazing and notable scene early in ADwR you are instead captured, low level and with little hope of victory in combat, by the bandits instead because they recognise you arn't a threat and can think of better things to do with a young woman rather than just guttng her on sight. You have ways to escape; though none are desirable. You can flee naked but unmolested from their base with arrows flying aroudn you and wild dogs eager to kill you. You can try your luck in killing two of the thugs, and then sneaking/assassinating your way aroudn their base to recover your gear... or if you hesitate for even a second the PC will be locked in some stocks and be raped by two of the bandits, before the power of plot allows her to be freed.

Seriously, this gritty and sexual mod for a very old game grabbed me, and since it I have had a hard time enjoying any sort of mainstream game because I see what could be. Its not even for the thrills, because I enjoyed the challenge of trying to avoid all the sexual encounters and play a chaste character. It immersed me. It added a great deal to the module, because I was in that mindset of a vulnerable young woman with no way to protect myself except my wits.

It's one of the biggest failings in the Lovers series in my opinion, and one I hope that can be fixed early on with Skyrim. Perhaps in New Vegas with Sexout. We have the ability, and with Oblivion the system, to interweave that same sexuality into the very quests of these games... but for the most part its always remained almost seperated from the 'actual' game with a wall. This is the only thing, aswell as the deep companions, that I feel we lack.

Also relevent I feel are two posts from other people.

I don’t know about ‘grit and grime’ I mean, Fallout is a post-apocalyptic world so there’s going to be significantly more of both those things than there would realistically be for a place that has an established order, guards patrolling the streets, and, until recently, a sky devoid of large element-breathing flying lizards, so there’s going to be less grit, publically at least.

I do like the idea though, and it seems like there are plenty of places already in-game where things could be expanded to be simply be more realistic because of the added existence of sexuality, and let’s face it that’s exactly what’s going on here, Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout, in their native forms they, at best, hint at sexuality but they never really admit it exists. I’d like to see these games modified to admit the existence of sexuality. There’s two place in-game that stick in my mind when I think of this, and this is just things I’ve discovered in my personal experiences.

The first is Yngvild one of the places to find an Unusual Gem; the necromancer there is pretty clearly having sex with his ghosts/Draugr, for whatever reason all the Draugr interred there were exclusively female. The thing that annoyed me was that when I happened upon this place (completely at random I was just wandering the frozen north) I was playing a Female-Dunmer-Necromancer-Summoner and had already become arch-mage. I wanted to talk to this guy! At very least succeed at a speechcraft check and turn him from a boss monster to a necromancy/black soul gem merchant. I wouldn’t mind him attacking as regular if I failed; but I at least wanted to talk to the guy before killing him. You know a nice little “What are you doing here?!” “I’m an adventurer I explore ruins, nice undead army you have here.” “Oh well thank you. I uhm, like some of the things you have as well.” Hint hint wink wink nudge nudge.

The other is a simple little bandit camp outside Riften; Faldar’s Tooth, now aside from the fact that it was one of the numerous bandit camps dotting the world’s ruined fortresses with suspiciously vacant cages down in the dungeon, it also had a whole nice little dogfighting arena and betting parlor. Not only could this be the setting for some more, explicit modifications *coughLover’sBitchcouch* but it could also be a great setting for ya’know, gambling! I’ve yet to find a place in Skyrim where a lucky, or unlucky, young lass can waste her hard earned gold trying to win a magical sword from a slot machine.

Granted it was just a dog fighting arena, but I would think it would at least have like, a bouncer at the front door. "What are you doing here?" "I'm here for the sports" (Persuasion) "I just wanna have a look around" "My business is my own." (Intimidate) and if you fail then he and the fort can turn hostile to you and if you don't you can go inside and bet on a few fights, maybe not even exclusive to dogs, something like the Thorn from New Vegas, or maybe the bandits running the place have 'another kind of show' in mind. And if these particular bandits happen to beat you up then they could have you 'star' in such a show.

Or like if the idea for bandit hostage/slave trading touched on Here ever gets off the ground, than this could be one of the places to buy/sell slaves/get bought/sold as a slave. Or at very least a place where slaves could be marched too, I mean not all slaves would be used for sex, maybe some captured Stormcloaks & Imperials are made to fight one another in an arena for the amusement of their bandit overlords (maybe even wearing skimpy not so protective armor). Maybe the PC can talk to the pit boss and fight in the arena there for 10% of the take, and if s/he loses s/he is ______ let your imagination run with that one.

I am Sure there are more places already in-game that can be exploited like this. (The Temple of Dibela for example) and would greatly enjoy seeing a modification to exploit them.

PS: Found another place that just begs to be exploited Lost Knife Hideout the place is not only a very large bandit camp, but seems to have some kind of funky-pseudo arena already built into it. They had a Sabre Cat penned up in a cage when I went there. It's boss is already part of some quest from an old sailor from Windhelm to go and kill his old shipmate, though I think this could pretty easily be changed into "Go see my friend over here for _____"

Maybe not something that could be exploded sexually (Though I am sure it could more easily than someplaces) but definately work a look by any interested moders Hint Hint :P

Since I was posting this for both Skyrim and New Vegas I was pretty vague in my terms. grit and grime fit Fallout better, but I wouldn't go so far as to say a game with Riften/The Thieves Guild and mob famalies and the Dark Brotherhood have no place for it. Skyrim is pretty dark and gritty - but as usual with only the barest hint of sexuality.

I really thought my PC was in trouble when she fell into Molag Bal's trap, I won;t say when since that woudl be a spoiler and ruin the surpise, but that turned out to be a disapointment. Not that I was expecting much.

Interesting ideas there. They are less interweaving sexuality into quests as expanding and adding new things to the game, but interesting thoughts.

Well, at least in my mind, the problem with 'interweaving sexuality into quests' is that the quests are already pretty well built. I mean, short of the Dibella priests, there aren't prostitutes wandering the land, there isn't a brothel in every town, there aren't even that many hints at it outside Riften.

Sure; the Thieves' Guild and the Brotherhood might have options for it, but really, they're the thieves' guild, short of pretty much mangling them, I don't know how you'd turn those quests into anything sexual... I guess you could seduce someone before you kill them, or drug them with a sleeping poison and then rob them blind, but that'd require not just additional dialogues but new poison effects, new means of making/buying those new poisons, new ways of poisoning people (unless you had the poisoner perk and could just reverse-pick pocket it onto them, but then you're trusting that the PC is going to go dramatically out of their way to become someone who has an easier time seducing and poisoning the NPC rather than just sneaking in and stabbing him.)

Frankly; I think Skyrim's quests do a pretty good job of stepping aside from sexuality, and part of that is probably (and this is one of the things I was disappointed with the game for) because there's no real difference between playing a male or a female PC. There's not even really that much difference between playing an Orc and an Elf, it's all how you do something, not what you have to do. There's no 'retrieve my daughter from the slavers' quests, there's not even a 'free the slaves of _____' quest like in Fallout.

I've done the MQ, DB, Collage, and a few random sidequests, so I can't really comment much... but i'm sure there are points it would work. ;)

Being honest from what I've seen so far there isn't enough to many quests TO mangle. They are well made, but shallow as all hell. I liked Dark Bloodlines for example, in that when trying to get an item from a bandit you weren't allowed to kill he could be given a blowjob. It didn't accomplish anything, since he just allowed the act and stuck to his guns, but that sort of things could fit in many quests.

For example, in the DB the ablity to seduce and poison/or lead the victim somewhere secluded would be one way. I agree that I saw little in either the MQ or the Collage that would fit, except perhaps bribing the Mage about the other students staff. As mentioned above, but with a different take, perhaps in Yngvild the necromancer might be convinced to open the cage for some living flesh rather than simply starting to throw magic at you if you wait.

You just have to be creative or think like a fiend. =P

Hopefully whatever happens we will also get lore-appropriate fanmade quests. The high quality ones will likely do the job just as well, since you don't neccisarily want sex scene after sex scene. Its the presence and danger of falling victim that is the spice, not it being dumped on you every two minutes.

One natural place for sex in Skyrim that really needs to be explored is plain vanilla sex with your companions and wife / husband.

Your companions are dull as hell. Romances and sex are absolutely needed.

Your married life is completely empty. Again, we need romance and sex.

Sanguines quest (a tribute to The Hangover) has several places where you really should be able to have sex. Especially with the Hagraven who holds the wedding ring.

In Assassins Creed we have the 'Cortisans' guild and I think it would be a good thing to have in Skyrim, a Cortisans guild quest can even be totally diferent if you play as a male or female, while as a male you can do things for the prostitutes, just like Ezio, beating some clients who didn't pay the services, protecting the girls, those things, and as a female you can participate in big parties, seducing some married man, even some "cross-quest" where the Thieves Guild asks you to distract some guy in order to one of their agents to steal stuff.

And for the main quest maybe if you is a Cortisan there are new options of dialogue to solve quests, like WitchGirl says. In my opinion a Cortisan's Guild would be a great way to have a lot of sex in the game without breaking the immersion and it even gives the player the option to take part or not of it.

Others have mentioned it already, but there's already a Cult of Dibella in Skyrim. Something like Claudia's Little Secret, with a conflict between the Cult of Dibella and the Cult of Sanguine would be lore friendly and potentially great fun. Your character must pick a side and then test His / Her Sexcraft against the powerful Erotic Arts of the enemy. Contest with your foes to seduce powerful allies, defeat and sexually dominate (or be defeated and dominated by) priestesses of Sanguine / Dibella as you attempt to establish whether the next age of Skyrim shall be dedicated to Love and Pleasure or Perversion and Debauchery.

Markarth and Forsworn Conspiracy are uttery perfect for this I'm finding as I play. Not only does the cty have stockade - STOCKS =D - the questline is all about getting into trouble with the corrupt law.

SPOILERS>!!!!

...

...

And then there is the fact you then get arrested. I personally feel a day in the stocks for a female PC should be slotted in before you are teleported to the Mine. =D

Borkul the Orc in the mines also comes across as quite menacing in just the right way, and wants something from you. You can also try and get a shiv by doing a favor for another prisoner. All good fodder for a dark mod, especially since its made note of that the guards only pop in once a week, skooma is currency, and I note there don't seem to be any female prisoners aside from potentially the PC. The female Orc prison guard might also be good for F/F material material and straight both.

Registered purely to say that I agree completely with this thread.

I have always seen nudity/sex mods (and pregnancy/baby/child mods) as an essential prerequisite to getting the full depth of life from sandboxers. But they're just that: prerequisites. They add no actual depth, they are just modder's tools.

I feel that depth comes, in large part, from things like morality and romance. And those are *hard* to do in computer games, because generally people play games to get the best possible outcome. That's almost the definition of "game"! Game theory assumes that all players play their best possible game.

Morality and romance are storytelling things. Storytelling is hard in a game. You can unveil gated plot points, but that's not the same.

Best I've seen romance was done really rather well by Emma's "Lara Craft" companion mod for Morrowind, but even that... it takes a hell of a lot of work to make people care about an NPC. Romance needs friendship, which comes from shared experiences and cooperation. A character who barges into a cluster of foes with a sword, when you are trying to snipe them at range, is not going to make you love it, and is going to make you think of it as "it" instead of "she".

Morality, though... that's not so hard. It's under-explored territory, but game devs are at least thinking about it again, after a dark period around the turn of the century where they just stopped exploring that. The deepest thinking I've seen on morality, at least publicly, is here: http://dewimorgan.livejournal.com/31537.html - though that dev seems to miss the point that even in single player games, people will minmax stuff to the hilt. People play to win, not just to be a nice person. People will rescue a baby only if there's a benefit to it. If they can get reagents from its corpse without repercussion, then they'll kill it without a qualm. If they can sell their body to slavers for 500 caps and get a perk out of it into the bargain, they'll do that too!

As well as being a whole lot of fun, sex is also deeply embedded with morality and romance. But you can't get either of those without storytelling, which is why I feel sex mods are just a modder's tool, rather than the final product.

Playing Devil's Advocate: not necessarily my actual opinions

Spoiler for length.

The problems I see with integrating sex to the established story is that, frankly, there are very few places to for it to be fit in. I mentioned it before that most of Skyrim's established quests do a very neat job of sidestepping the whole sexuality issue, part of this I think is more just because you can play as a male or a female character so that when the people were writing the quests they couldn't really say 'oh hey, let's have this NPC hit on the player' because what if the player happens to be playing an Male-Orc-Barbarian-somethingUnattractive.

Yes there are places where sex can be hammered in, such as the Forsworn Conspiracy and of course marriage, but ultimately these things aren't very well built to handle sex. The first time I did the Forsworn quest I was in and out of that prison in less than a game hour; I was a two-handed warrior who happened to know Bound Battle Axe and had enough health to just punch out the orc at the door.

Now yes; that's saying, oh well you don't have to have sex if you don't want to, but that's like saying 'oh you don't have to use this mod if you don't want to.' If a mod is going to try and interweave sex & story then it should do that, it shouldn't just be an 'oh well this adds something that you might not ever encounter unless you're looking for it' which honestly, is another problem.

Skyrim has tones of little mini quests and dungeons that you'd never encounter unless you're lucky. Just the other day I just walked into a dungeon and there was a ghost standing there who gave me a quest to kill a lich, got a dragon priest's mask out of it. Would never have known about that quest if I hadn't of just been randomly walking into dungeons. That's sort of the whole point of the 'letter from a friend'-s they tell you about places where you can pick up a shout. Near as I can tell all they do is give you information about where to find the next shout, 9/10 it's out in the middle of no-where or ontop of some mountain, places you otherwise wouldn't have gone. The game is riddled with subtle methods of telling the player about little dungeons, the guards even randomly tell you about near by dungeons, even tell you what monsters are in it, and when you bump into couriers along random roads you can murder them and they'll be carrying 'courier's note' which is someone talking to someone about a dungeon nearby and a hint of what kind of treasure you'll find inside.

If a mod is going to try and do lore-friendly fucking, then it should try to do lore-friendly fucking. Which means something different for every species & gender. Complicated? Yes. Worth it? You decide.

For example: Orcs are naturally polygamous, every stronghold you encounter in the game is one guy, his wives and children. Dushnikh Yal in particular the chieftain has Four wives, his Forge-Wife who runs the forge, his Hunts-Wife who minds the fence, his Mage-Wife who runs the alchemy table, and his 'favorite-wife' who follows him around and looks pretty.

Now you can brawl any & all orc chieftains for 200 gold; how about this. If you're a male orc; And Only If you're a male orc. After you've beaten an orc chieftain in unarmed combat in his own home for less than the cost of an Orcish Sword, you can challenge him for rule of his Stronghold, the orcs follow Malacath who hates weakness, so by right the strongest male orc should get to rule the stronghold. So you challenge him, he doesn't use unarmed, they use whatever their favorite weapon is, the chief of Dushnikh Yal is the master-level One-Handed teacher, I'd imagine he'd use an Orcish One-handed weapon. One of the others is the master-level Unarmed teacher, I imagine he wouldn't use a weapon.

Anyway you fought the chieftain, you beat him, he survives, him and his family leave the stronghold for whatever the nearest settlement-like thing is. Maybe they move into a tavern the point is that wherever they go they leave the stronghold depressingly empty. So you get a new quest "Building a Stronghold" where you have to go around and fine yourself at least 3 wives, a Hunts-wife, a Mage-wife, and a Forge-wife preferably orcs. Borgakh the Steel Heart of Mor Khazgur is a potential follower who actively complains about her impending marriage to the chieftain of one of the other strongholds, and you can actually pay her dowry to obtain her as a follower. She'd make a perfect Hunts-Wife option, though she shouldn't really be the only Hunts-wife option.

I don't know of any other 'potential orc wife' applicants off the top of my head, but the idea is that somewhere in the world there's 2-3 NPC (Making them all Orc Women would make them easy to spot) who could fulfill the role of an Orc Wife. Heck, Adrianna Avenicci the chick from War Maiden's in Whiterun, would make an excellent Forge-Wife if we go for non-orcs applicants.

Anyway some running around later, (Bonus points if you don't add quest markers to show the player where their wives are so you actually have to find them, rather than just 'go here') you have yourself 3-4 wives living in your stronghold, they each open their own shop, Forge-wife runs the forge and sells weapons/armor, (maybe weapons/armor of whatever ore can be mined from the mine adjoined to the stronghold) the Mage-wife runs the alchemy table and becomes a standard potions merchant, the Hunts-Wife minds the fence and maybe sells standard 'hunter' merchant stuff. (Maybe even one of the 'new' Hunts-wife options can be a named orc lady you run into at one of the various hunter camps throughout the wilderness.)

Quest finishes you have your own stronghold, you're a real orc, next time someone calls you a milk drinking punch them in the nose.

A unique quest that can only be obtained by a male-orc player character.

And a different unique quest that can only be obtained by a female-orc player character.

Rewind to after the player has punched out an orc chieftain, instead of challenging him for right of rule of the stronghold, nothing happens. Fast forward a game day or two or maybe a week. The player's being greeted by a Courier, not it's not the letter from Falk Firebeard; it's a "Package from ______" accompanied by a letter from the same guy. Turns out the orc chief you punched out is in love with you, he wants you to be his next wife and to that effect he has begun wooing you in the traditional Orcish way. Sending you presents. His packages, intermitend and bearing leveled loot, include everything from deer-parts to leveled-enchantment orcish armor. Now at this point you can just ignore him and keep getting the loot, go back to tell him you're not interested, at which point maybe he get's pissed and attacks you; attempting to 'take his new wife' (cue rape on lose) you smack him in his tusks and he has some line along the line of 'you're too much for him' and stops sending you presents, or you can just agree to marry him, and there's some marriage quest where he becomes your companion and you have to go out and slay a ____ together as an orcish bonding ritual, maybe at the end you even get a unique/named/custom item as his 'dowry' for you. An orcish _____ with some special enchantment like the Bow of the Hunt or Trollbane, (bonus points if it's an enchantment that can only be found on this item, like those mentioned, and Extra Bonus Points if each orc chief has his own unique item only accessibly by marrying him. Extra Extra Bonus Points if it's something like, each chief asks you 'would you prefer a _____' sword, battleaxe, bow etc, and give you whatever you ask for, with the unique enchantment he, and only he, offers.)

But what about the other races?

The Thalmer are supposed to have complicated and careful marriage rituals designed to insure they maintain the best traits of their elven ancestors. I imagine being a Duvakin would be a trait they'd like to accentuate. So; if you're a High Elf Player Character, maybe after a certain point where you've become famous enough, Thalmer NPCs of the opposite gender start licking your boots in the hopes that you'll bang, if not marry them. But; in true Thalmer tradition, after that first night together they turn back into bitches. Maybe Male High Elf PCs get to sleep with virtually any female Thalmer NPC with virtually no work, but afterward everything out of her mouth is her asking you how you're going to take care of her and your kid. First she wants you to buy her a house in whatever town she's a resident of, then she wants you to get it fully decorated, then she wants you to bring her jewel items like Flawless Sapphires, Rubies, Diamonds etc, maybe even some Silver/Gold Ingots/Ore, and then at the very end of the 'pleasing the wife' quest, just when you're thinking about taking her out and shouting her off a cliff, she gives you something, I'm thinking jewelry, a ring, a circlet, or a necklace, 'as a symbol of your love' that's also a rare/unique/really nice item, something similar to what the orcs would give you only more Thalmer-related, like a 10% less mana cost on all spells circlet, or a 100% better mana regeneration ring, and then she's just your wifie-wife and spends her time raising your Duvakid.

The male version of the Thalmer-mating quest could be something similar, only instead of having you do it all, your Thalmer husband insists that he does it all, making you have to accompany him down dangerous dungeons just to make sure he doesn't get himself killed, all the while he insists that he doesn't need your help, then after the first fight he admits that 'maybe his skills aren't as honed as they used to be' and 'he'll let you lead the way' from that point on, and he becomes something of an optional companion, until you finish the quest at which point he gives you 'his family's heirloom _____' which would be the nifty magical item you get for doing the marriage quest.

It would be A Lot of work for whatever modder tried to do it, but it's one of the best ways to do 'lore-friendly fucking.' Short of just making a brothel in each town and having sex add the 'very well rested: all skills improve 20% faster' effect, which would turn sex into something like sleep, completely optional but something that is helpful.

I like these ideas but they are far more difficult than some people realize to get the immersion most people want. I know because I modded the hell out of Oblivion with personal dialogue I spent countless hours on. I had custom dialogue for random passerby's and everything. I created a custom class, with a custom description, all tying into an overarching quest that I could progress/put on halt during regular play.

It was extremely difficult because there were so many modded mods that breaking one would break the whole set. Something that eventually happened and rendered my Oblivion game almost paperweight. I couldn't simply put one .esp back to default status because dialogue/scripts were needed in other .esps that were in that one. Etc etc. It's very difficult to do with great continuity I assure you.

With that said when there is actual sex mods in Skyrim (this may be months for now) I will be once again attempting to put my own personal story in Skyrim. I'll be using the exact same one I had in Oblivion since it wasn't really lore breaking and could hopefully be a quest line that could be at least sort of worked into other quests. But considering I haven't even picked up Skyrim yet because I was waiting for the modding to gain a little more steam...this will likely be quite some time from now. Of course now my ideas are even grander (mostly due to some feedback I've heard on other things in this forum) I'll be trying to incorporate other things as well (including a special leveling system to work for a sort of "non fighting" character). And hopefully if all goes well maybe I'll actually attempt to wrap it all up in one mod, if that's even possible which it probably won't be, and then release it here.

Hmmm. I love a good story line as much as the next player wen it comes to sex and mods, but it will be months before a grande, grade A mod will be made and tested and since my skills are not up to that level of expertise, Ill just sit back and enjoy all the awesome armor we r bout to get flooded with and hope and pray to Dibella that some one (xiro8877, like ur idea), builds a sex mode around a non-fighting speech based character. And, I can hardly wait.

I also have fond memories of playing ADwR, I remember playing through that mod with several different characters, each having very different personalities (for examples: one disappointed that various encounters did not progress further, another somewhat traditional blood & thunder character finding herself sometimes dismayed by the compromising circumstances she found herself in).

Anyways, the game has a number of circumstances that could be changed to provide sexual or romantic content:

Any of the companion quests could be developed this way (and I have already seen mods leaning in that direction).

And, of course, like other people have been pointing out: the marriage system almost demands sexuality. You should be able to sleep with your spouse. And if your spouse could express interests (both romantic -- even a quick hug -- and prosaic, or even just comment on the surroundings) I think that would help the game significantly.

But darker elements of the game, beyond those mentioned, also have possibilities.

First, there's death and defeat. Right now, when you lose in combat you die. And the game automatically reloads the game for you -- you lose a few minutes of time typically (or maybe a lot of time if you were outdoors and were confident that your game would not crash). But if anyone has played Mount&Blade... combat works differently there, for the player character and for nobles. Imagine, if you will, that the player character was essential, but that when you lose combat you are captured, abused for a few days, lose your most of your valuables and eventually manage to escape. Even without the possibility for romance and sexual abuse, I think a mod along these lines would be immersive -- and depending on the bent of the mod author, you could develop a relationship with a fellow prisoner, or you could be subject to the lusts and whims of your captors.

Something similar could happen when you are thrown in jail. And if someone had the energy and story telling talent, you could have different guards -- some good, some bad, some heroic, some disgusting, some devious, and so on... that all influence the outcome. Depending on which shift is involved, and which town, you might find yourself released from prision, nude and penniless and then arrested for public exposure. Or, you might find yourself working off your sentence in the mines until your health breaks and some strong soul with a soft heart nurses you back to health. Or... basically any situation where the story teller has an excuse to take control of the story can open up possibilities which would be difficult to manage in the open world. (Failing in any thiefly activity also opens up this kind of possibility, of course. The issue I think would be writing and implementing unique encounters for the various NPCs you can get involved with.)

Or, there's a certain cannibal lady whose lines would become suggestive of a different kind of carnal activity if they were editted. This would remove the cannibalism quest line and would need to be replaced with a different quest line, but I cannot imagine that everyone is so fond of cannibalism -- this one might be a good quest to rewrite.

Or, there's another involving a rusty mace and a daedric lord of rape, of all things. Tell me that that quest line has no possibilities for sexual variants? (Albeit many possibilities involve dark variants that I might not be able to stomach.)

And the Sanguine (or however you spell his name) does not have to only have you being interested in goats and hagravens.

Actually, any of the daedric lords have lore-license to engage you their bored and boring minds can dream up...

And did anyone mention Mjoll the Lioness and her boy toy?

Which brings up another issue: the game has room for romances which do not involve the PC. And not just in Riverton (where I have always wished I could have a resolution option which did not involve me being unfair to either of the two guys -- maybe she dumps them both and they see her for the sad person she is, or maybe they all work out their differences and set up a three way marriage, or ... anyways, I wanted some options there).

Even the opening scene, where you are a prisoner, has possibilities. For example, some of the dialog could be re-used if there was a slave block where slaves were being sold (and the dragon could still interrupt that chain of events, but setting a very different atmosphere and character motivation for the story that follows). Or maybe that part of the story line is extended further, and you get taken off where you have to deal with a "give me head" type of guard (an animated sequence that you could pull off in first person pov with camera manipulations).

I will not say that the possibilities are endless, but I think we have too many to do justice to.

Have a look at the Skyrim Slavers' thread, and maybe our wiki.

I think you'll like what you find :)

I did see that and I am intrigued, though I am not sure whether I should read deeper or whether I should avoid spoilers. So I read bits and pieces... I think I would want slight variations in some of your story line, but I can worry about those kinds of issues after it's available and I have played through it a time or two?

)lso, while some of that very much fits with the "heroic and tragic" flavor of skyrim, I also see opportunities for the "open world and light and positive" sort of thing, which I would not expect from a slaver mod...)

Fair enough. I just noticed that a lot of what you proposed we already had on the drawing board :)

Also fair. I didn't mean to suggest that I had all your points covered. Just that I'd gone into quite some depth regarding some of them :)

Interweaving sex into the quests and story are exactly what I want to do with my quests. I believe a lot of the vanilla quests could be slightly modified to include sexual situations, and of course, many new quests can be added. I totally agree with the point about Game of Thrones, and think Skyrim can and should be set vary similarly into that flavor. In a rough, independent province like Skyrim, a province where drink is man's constant companion, where the climate is cold and the people stay gathered close to the fire to warm themselves, why would there not be an abundance of sexual activity. Compared to the Imperial province of Cyrodil, I would say Skyrim would be far more wild and much more engaged in acts the cosmopolitan Imperials would view as taboo.

An example of one quest I would like to write is this:

Ysolde, in Whiterun, has been asking around for a mammoth tusk. We know this. The pc talks to her and she's got a new dialogue option, for the pc to ask her if something is wrong, because she looks upset. She explains urgently that yes, her younger sister has gone out and been gone for two days. If the player agrees to help find her younger sister, Ysolde gives them a note her sister left on the table at their home, which explains that she knows her older sister has been needing a mammoth tusk to get some money to start her business, and while she (the sister) was hunting for elk, she saw a couple trolls drag a dead mammoth into their cave. She came home and quickly penned the note, then set out at dusk to sneak into the troll's cave and bring back a tusk for her sister.

Of course, she's not come back and Ysolde fear's the worst. When the player arrives at the cave (I have one in mind) they find they young sister naked, either recently used and now restrained in manacles or a cage, or in the act of being used still. The hero slays the trolls, and then talks to the sister. They could be very kind and offer her clothes and take her immediately home, or perhaps they decide, since she's already naked, why not have some fun themselves before releasing her.

When the player does finally take her back, Ysolde is overjoyed, and offers a reward. If the player happens to be married to Ysolde, she also begs for her sister to be allowed to move in, for safety. For her part, the sister sees the player as her savior, and, after getting a taste of bondage and rough sex, craves more, and when Ysolde is out at market, approaches the player and makes it obvious that, though she is young, she is as much a sexual woman as her sister, if not more.

Whether the player is married to Ysolde or not, the sister will be a prospective companion (ranged hunter-type) afterwards, either willingly, or possibly in a slave situation should the player go the evil route after killing the trolls. Maybe after bringing her back to town, the player informs Ysolde that instead of money, he/she will be taking the sister as payment.

In my opinion, this gives plenty of sexual stimulation, while in a quest that fits right into a story already present. Also, if the player didn't want the sex, simply rescue the girl and bring her back for the reward. Good deed done, no naughtiness. (but really, who reading this now would go that route? I mean, really.)

I just got this flash of Geoff Foxfurry doing his weekly standup routine at the The Bannered Mare.

"If yer' sister has ever been abducted by a coup'la trolls, you MIGHT be a Nordneck." :)

Maybe you could put comedians in every bar with off color news of the Hero's/Heroine's exploits.

Sir Rodney of the Danger Fields. "Hey, that hero doesn't give me no respect. I asked him to rescue my wife and he helped her get a divorce lawyer."

Jorge of Burnside "Our hero knows what it means to come home at night to a woman who'll give him a little love, a little affection, a little tenderness.... It means he's in the wrong house." "Yeah, the hero and his wife were married by a judge.... he should have asked for a jury."
