Help with editing animations?

Recently learned about TK17,got to learn how to edit poses/interactions but I have 2 questions

1.How do I edit animations? When I load a new "animation" to edit, screen appears to be black or does nothing.The animation downloaded from megapacks have some errors too.

2.How do I edit merge animations i.e. player1 is in a conversation animation whilst the player2 should be in a 'laughing' or 'saying no animation'
