Regarding the Reupload issue:

There is no point in reuploading deleted content for the sole purpose to have it archived, if the reupload won't get proper patches. It works for a while, sure (like in this case we're in right now), but often game updates will break functionality of mods that were not patched to work with the latest game version. This may not affect texture or mesh based mods due to their nature of remaining unchanged most of the time, but this is only for the common situation and not a guarantee.

I've spent thousands of hours creating my own mods and working with mods in general with other games and this is what I've experienced with modern games, because modern games get a lot of patches these days.

The most unfortunate part is if an author decides to abandon a great mod he or she once created and a year later the game developer decides to bump a new game patch that breaks such mod from functioning.

I wouldn't trust loverslab with hosting of these mods. If you check out genshin/fire emblem thread you can find loli mods posted and even hosted here, but on the other hand when the fe engage retranslation came out it was nuked immediately. Best course of action would be making a new website since current alternatives aren't really that good, but i don't see that happening soon.

Okay, this Forum is good but can be a big read if a topic go over a hundred of pages, also what site doesn't take down Fan-Translations then?

For the sole purpose of hosting moddinghaven and basedmods is ok, but the problems start with their interface. Also it's not like nexus/gamebanana/ll bans all translations. They all just had a problem with singular line in Fe Engage that concerned marrying a loli(at least that was their explanation). I think they would let granblue retranslation stay since it doesn't really mention topics like that.

There is also aqxaromods(i have no idea what they allow on their site) and regional sites like playground.ru  /  arca.live   /  3DM mod  /  9dmsgame  / naver.

Loverslab would also be ok if Relink got it own downloads section but this game isn't big enough for this to happen(for now at least).

Moddinghaven/basedmods should let you make one yourself when submiting a mod. playground.ru already has one but it's in russian, arca.live is the same but in korean. 3DM has a category but it's currently empty(website is chinese but has built in english translation). For 9dms and naver I'm not sure because I couldn't find them but they could still be somewhere. Aqxaro has neither a category nor a single mod related to granblue.

We are never getting Charlotta mods let's just face it. That aside there are a few sites that allow mods without any stupid restrictions, but the problem is most modders probably don't know about them.

I've been maining Io atm so this is a bit depressing. I doubt we will see many mods for them at all with this level of moderating. Who is going to risk a ban to upload something other than full coverage. From what Thor77 said even a tight pair of jeans and a tank top is unacceptable. I would say a potato sack plus a layer of dirt would be ok. But that probably qualifies as child abuse by the current logic. The most ironic thing about the situation is these sites are alienating their most loyal users. We all know what the most endorsed and downloaded mods are.

The original file didn't work at all due to a misconfiguration in the mod config json. I fixed that issue.

Normally I'd agree with you coz you're right. However, due to how these uncensor mods are, unless the devs are going to go out of their way to deliberately break mods... established character data should be pretty static. Updates look like they'll be either new characters and/or bosses to kill. I doubt they will even add extra costumes.

The most ironic thing is them taking a """""""moral high ground""""""" whilst nexus hosts mods like killable children and loli serana/valerica(pureblooded vampires came to be in the elder scrolls by being ""diddled"" by a deity) and gamebanana hosting highly fetishistic mods for genshin and nude mods for animal crossing of all things. FWIW, the Djeeta and Cag uncensor are still on that Discord and are still fine. Amazingly enough. 

 

For other stuff, we're really going to need to look to China or Russia sites... if anyone does have a Baidu link for a mod, post it here anyway. Some of us can grab these and reshare.

His explanation for the removals was basically sexualization of an underaged character. Which is far to open to interpretation. I'm going to assume the approach will be any mod that highlights feminine assets or shows skin in areas such as thighs or midriff/navel or back are a no. After all how is changing shorts to underwear sexualization. When in normal game play you can't even see them. 

 

As for those that think this is a western thing only you should take a hard look at Chinese games. All the ladies in Genshin wearing shorts isn't because that's how they wanted to design them. HSR Silver wolf has no navel. Cuz you know those are sexy. 🤣

It is a western thing in the sense that in China, they are subject to the whims of the CCP who can decide to fine or arrest them for "harming the moral fiber of society" or any number of laws they have for the express purpose of differential enforcement against their political enemies or just people they don't like. If they think they can get away with it, Chinese games will still have sexy characters - I'm sure you can look at the cast of Azur Lane and see that. In the west it is done not because the companies fear retribution from the government, but for strictly political and ideological reasons. This particular issue stems from their desire to vilify the male gaze - which is absolutely not the issue in China.

I would argue that a fear of lawsuits and or criminal charges are a big part of why nexus doesn't allow said mods. After all if it was pure ideolog they shouldn't allow any nude mods. Seems like I remember reading about a translator having issues at Canadian customs because of loli h-doujins on his laptop. If I'm not mistaken the old skyrim mod that gave the children scaled down unp/cbbe bodies had to have permeant underwear for legal reasons. In any case does the underlying reason behind the censorship really change the outcome.
