NMM has been confirmed to not install certain mods well at all. I am not currently modding up Skyrim, but when I last did, I installed just about everything manually. I used a very laborious method, but it works well, just install one mod or feature at a time, check in game to insure it works properly before moving on to another, yes I know this is a really long process, but it will ensure it works properly. Is there a link to where this image of the character came from? I cannot say for sure but she looks like a Moon Shadow Elf, if I knew the source, I could possibly see what they used to make her and be of better assistance to you for replicating her.

This page here has some really good advice for installing mods and such. http://www.skyrimgems.com/utilities.html

@carywinton i do not have any other images bigger than this one, since i have only seen this picture used as someone's profile image

i also tried adding mods manually , a few worked others did not , i added ECE , worked once and after i finished modding my character i couldn't exit the editor after i named my character also i didn't manage to make my highelf look anywhere near that pretty, never worked again

also tried adding a hairpack or fox29 armor, hair never appeared and fox29 armor never showed up in riverwood

If you are using racemenu the mod and ece together, you gotta install racemenu first and ECE after and some features from ECE won't work though, cause racemenu will overpower it. But that's the combo I use, and it works relatively well :) Good luck!

I can't provide a "full" image of my avatar because I don't have it anymore. I took the screenshot with the explicit purpose of making it into an avatar, which resulted in several cropped images of the original. The largest one that remains of the same exact scene is sized at approximately 400x400 pixels (the avatar at 150x150 approx). Said image however, only expands in a way that you see the breasts as well as the remaining upper-half of the hair. So no, it's not going to help much.

I was never much a photographer in Skyrim myself either, so I don't have a large collection of screenshots of my PC. Before you ask I won't be providing any full-sized screenshots either, since this is the internet and it's going to end up in rule 34 or used in something like that oculus rift gag on a certain website

If you actually feel up for it, I'd like to tell my story:

I started installing mods for this game about a week into release day. About a month in, I decided to make my first attempt at character "beautification". Needless to say, I failed horribly whether it be the lack of experience or the arsenal available to us during that time. My character looked like she was aged 50 with the only thing going for her being the voluptuous body.

After a while, the early iteration of ECE came along, and I began to find more ease in creating good looking faces coupled with Univision face. Again, looking nothing to amazing, it was at least decent. She now looked alright, but was pretty much similar as the one on the Univision page except a tad crappier.

As time came around, I noticed how a lot of what other people created looked a lot better than what I had, but I didn't really mind. It got to the point where I saw this very image http://eelog.jp/image/51619 that for some reason I decided to make my attempt in replicating it.

Knowing absolutely nothing about who the author was, what mods he used, whatever, I gathered what seemed like the mods that made that very face and gave my attempt to rebuild her. This happened around the same time now last year and took me the span of 4 days, or in other words around 1 full day to achieve a very similar result (she looked more like a feminine kadaj though).

Fast forwarding to what I have now, I stuck with that previous face for a year. While it certainly did look good, Univision just looked terrible under poor lighting conditions with enbs. I wondered if switching to an entirely different facial mod would remedy the issue, and it sure did. By a little. No knowing this, I set myself off to create a new face since the previous setup no longer worked with new textures (it looked terrible), and by chance discovered that SG hair pack had been updated. Amazed at the new hair (mystical) I decided to base my character upon that, which I did. Thus I created my very first non-referencing and decent-looking female character.

So Ballsy, what the hell was all this about? Well. It's about how everyone had their own story and their own difficulties to overcome in making their very own player character. It takes time. The same person ends up having characters that look similar because they've devised their own "working formula" for making their characters. You can call it playing safe, but it's also what sets them apart from other users who play Skyrim. The trait that remains across every one of their characters is part of their identity in the vast community. I've had times when looking at the screenshot of others felt that their characters were very attractive. Funnily enough, I would look back at my own character and forget all about it afterwards. It wasn't because my character was better than theirs. From an objective point of view she wasn't the best looking at all, but the time and effort you devote yourself into making your own, unique character breeds an affection that triumphs this sort of shoddy jealousy.

A quote from a looong time ago my teach in primary school once said:

"It's not that she's beautiful that you love her, but rather you love her that she is beautiful."

Something along the lines of that. His wife wasn't super hot or a supermodel or anything (she was actually very average), so I almost burst manly tears that time.

You'll want to get ECE working though. It won't do any good if the changes only last one session. I'd suggest posting in the technical support section if you can't get it working correctly and consistently.

i managed to make ECE work and added ECEE  aswell, managed to make fox29 armors work , added CBBE and retextures, well, made my nord have a dollface, which stays around only if i keep using the SKSE launcher

still didn't manage to make hair packs work (apachii or tera hair)

anyway, also had some trouble with light/shadows from update13 in which it changed from light to shadowy from step to step

@ballsy thank you anyway ballsy for your story and your help :)

Are you using the "face roundness" slider? Yea don't use that unless you want your character to look chubby.

A few other improvements… Maybe try to avoid having yellow eyebrows? They make your character look browless.

Change the eye-shape from a "upside-down u" to something else. Remember you can't alter eyes dynamically, unlike racemenu *hee* *hee*

Mouth shape can be different. Try a more thinner and longer lip. Remember, not too long.

Instead of using a picture as a sample try altering the slides using your instinct, and then compare your results with the picture.

Keep us updated.

other lips kinda annoy me, either they are too thick or too wide

i changed back any slider changes (mostly) to 0 , changed the nose shape and lowered nostril size a bit

also changed hair color (anime hair colors ftw :P )

still not liking her 100% , she sometimes reminds me of a monkey for some reason

Racist!

Seriously though, I'm probably just misreading the thread(been up for 30 hrs) but if you're asking us to fine tune your character for you..

Well that's kind of odd. Just shape her to your personal preference.

not a racist remark, but her nose and mouth sometimes remind me of a monkey

anyway, i was only asking for some tips/advice what i could do to improve her looks since i tried improving and ended up with the blonde version (shows what great results i CAN'T do :P)

Ok, gave up on making my character look like the one in OP

update from previous one is http://i.imgur.com/UASAd0w.jpg

@Ballsy: now that i think about that story and that quote i think what you meant was more like "she is beautiful because i put effort into shaping her the way i like" or something like that?

At first I was going to say UBB-x117 (flat-chest UNP used by Children of the Sky and Little Monli), but I noticed the nipples are smaller.  The Little Monli has the CBBE Petite body which is a flat-chest at MIN weight.  The nipples are or about the same size as the ones in the pics.

LIke I said, UBB-x117 is the flat-chest UNP body.  Some people just called it an x117 body.  You can also make your own with the UNP Bodyslide.

UBB = UnBlessed Body.  Referres to the body being flat-chest as oppose to the large bust-size of the Blessed Body.

Anyway, here is the CME save for the character posted in the OP.  It's for slot #24 and you need the SG Hairs 220 Pack.   I used my Little Monli to make the preset so if you use a different race, she might look different.  Part of the "look" is from the face textures and tintmasks used so experiment with different textures to get the look you like.

I do the same manually and i must say i become rather handy with this method not so slow as you might think if you get the hang of it.

Don't mind eather doing it manually, that way im sure the right files come in the right map.
