Starfield Hotkeys - a journey of despair and confusion

Starfield, PC, using MO2 2.5.0 (Nexus), and a controller (Xbox for windows)

 

Since before MO2 reached Starfield, I used a mod called Starfield Hotkeys . It has never, ever, ever worked, even when I thoguht it did.

It uses a small CMD to set up a Hotkeys.ini - originally in the Starfield folder in a folder called Hotkeys.  Therefore:  Starfield/hotkeys/hotkeys.ini.

 

Now, MO2 has it virtualized by running the CMD as an 'Execute with VFS'. So there is now a MO2 version.

 

But neither version has ever delivered the hotkeys to the game.  If I console 'hotkey', all I get are hotkeys added by three mods (See pic below - ignore the fact I accidentally typed in hotkeys).

I even added a StarfieldConsole.ini with a link to the Hotkeys, and also a line in the StarfieldCustom.INI

 

If I add hotkeys in console, they appear to be accepted, but never work.  

 

What on earth could be blocking hotkeys in my game?  Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Rename it to 'hotkeys.txt'

Here's how to install it manually:

 

1) Unzip the 3 files into the starfield directory.

2) doubleclick on the 'enable_hotkeys.cmd' file

3) Profit.
