To reiterate, I don't know how to do anything related to or involving textures other than putting them in the right directory and possibly configuring an injector someone else already made. As for 8.0, damn. You're right. That takes the wind out of my sails and I hadn't even thought of it. I guess it would've been too easy, otherwise. Didn't they say DX12 wasn't launching with 8.0 but rather later though? you need an injector to properly draw on the textures... you dont want the nips to end up on the underboob or near the collarbone, to draw it in the correct place involves testing textures as you draw on it... in short: draw on texture -> test if you drew in the correct place, if no -> make adjustments -> test again. In other words, the injector should come before modified textures, which is why i suggested you draw an x onto the texture with ms pain or something to test if the injector works, no need for elaborate changes for testing the injector itself. as for dx12 i said 8.x, not 8.0 but it will be during version 8 sometime, meaning it can be anywhere from a few months to a year or two. so if you do manage to create an injector, it can last a while. also, at least you will have experience you can rely on should you decide to make a new injector after the dx12 update. I hope you dont give up, and do create a way for us to mod in textures. Edited August 7 by Dark_Messiah
Quaren Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) I'm not creating anything. The tools are already out there for use. That's how I got the files. Or, I'm totally wrong in what we have available and I'm wasting everyone's time because I'm completely powerless here. 😭 Edited August 12 by Quaren

Anyways, ill try to make the dancer outfit invisible for a start and see what happens. updated file changer someone updated the old filechanger, its a bit better then the one you linked. tested it, it works, but models and textures need to be remade... tried to make the dancer outfit invisible, was partially successful, but the models seem to have some basic black coloring andspecular maps that i cannot remove without modifying the models... anyways, someone better then me can try their hands with it. how it works: -after extracting the assets using the tools from the link linked by Quaren (faster, more efficient if you extract everything) -start launcher, log in. -start file changer, -modified files need to be placed in the files folder inside the file changer folder, it gets automatically created after you start the file changer once. -click open settings -type in replace and then what you want to replace and with what as an example: replace x:/directory/file file from your mod replace /resources/art/dynamic/player_character/outfit/ge_dancer01_light_mtx20/texture/___psd/chest_dancer01_light_ge_mtx20c01_u_d.dds empty_mask_large.dds -modified files need to be placed in the files folder inside the file changer folder, it gets automatically created after you start the file changer once. textures: -i created my own empty texture with empty mipmaps for testing, its easy to do, open texture in gimp (free image editor) select layer press delete rince and repeat until you have all empty layers, then export image using dds but make sure appropriate mipmaps option is selected so the mipmaps are exported too. if you dont want to make things transparent instead you want to edit stuff, you can do so as well models: -there is a gr2 import plugin for blender in the tools link linked by Quaren above, just drag and drop it on the blender window to install it... i dislike blender, i rarely if ever use it so im not going to give you instructions on how and what to do, you can find some instructions on here: link you can also edit and switch out animations apparently... you can also use this site to find the appropriate files, some items are not named what you might think...: link find the item you want, on the right under appearance hover over the files, the .mat files (that you probably also extracted before when you extracted the assets) can be opened with any text editors, they contain the texture locations for the items how to share your mods: compress mod(s) files from the files folder with rar zip or 7zip or whatever else you want along with your settings file (inside the file changer folder) if you want to make things easier for others it contains your replacements, so others dont have to manually search for and add the files.
