*AN ACT OF NECROMANCY*

Alright guys, I have a new pc and I'm ready to get back into this. We need to find some coders/developers/modders to get either this mod back working or create a new one altogether.

I'm gonna start asking around again and see what can be done. I've been out of SWTOR completely for awhile now but I just took a peak and this game looks like it's still very much alive and will be for the foreseeable future so let's get some nude mods back.

I'd personally love to see a new mod altogether that accounts for the new graphical updates they've made and are continuing to make. And that's what I mean. They've bene working on revamping the look of the entire game in increments. That's not a sign of a game shutting down anytime soon.

So a completely brand new mod may be in order. Let's find some modders.

Let's go. I endorse this initiative!

With the recent graphic update we definitely could use some higher poly male & female nudes. Wish we could also get some animations like FFXIV mods. With romance being such a staple in this mmo and originally being from bioware it's surprising FFXIV beat both Swtor and Eso to those type of mods. But then again not so much because I guess XIV had more players.

Need some lewds just in time for the story update when they finally make Rass Ordo a romanced companion LOL

Bump, i know I'd play again as soon as a new mod gets made. A good community to look into for modders and such is SWTOR Slicers, i know that's kinda their whole thing. They have a discord you can find on google i believe.

Edited the tool so it reads version 6 instead of 5 of the tor archives, it still uses the settings.txt to check for locations to replace files. Looks like there is another issue to solve though, the .dds files originally provided by the author are now too large and need to be compressed, I'm no good with textures so if anyone knows how to compress them maybe it'll work?

Seems like this might be one of the final steps, i wish i knew how to compress them. But from what i gather we just need to optimize things like the poly count for the 3d models and mabey simplify the textures, if just straight up compressing the files doesn't work.

Update: Tried doing that, didn't work. gonna need someone with a more intimate know-how

Ok, so i looked into it. To compress the .gr2 files we are going to need someone familiar with "Granny 3d", I tried seeing if i could download it myself and get used to it but i don't even know how to download it. (might look into it further). For the .dds texture files I'm not sure. I've tried compressing them on GIMP and NVIDIA texture tools but it didn't change anything. I even tried editing the images themselves to be simpler but it didn't change the file size at all. From what I understand the two files types are already compressed. So my thinking is, is that we'll need to somehow increase the file size that the program will accept. How? No idea.

Does this mean that you made a version of the File Changer that works and doesn't throw an error about "version 5"? I need it for something else (I want to edit some audio files), is there a way I could get a fixed version of it that reads version 6? The link doesn't work so I don't know what was in there.

Can you re-upload or upload here on the forum, that link is dead

I wonder how a nude mod could work.
And even if a highly skilled person manages it, wouldn't they risk being permanently banned from the game when SWTOR employees see it?

You're only modifying local files. In other words, you see your avatars nude, but everyone else in the game sees them normally.

While it may technically a violation of the T.O.S., it would be really difficult for them to know. And as long as you're not affecting gameplay (cheats or hacks), they really don't care. Occasionally, the updater may see altered local files as 'corrupted', and overwrite them with defaults. But that's the extent of it.

Ah, okay :)
I thought everyone would see it, that's why it bothered me a little.

But it actually looks cool now, I hope someone manages to do it soon :)
Censorship is one of the worst things about video games.

From what I gather regarding what is going on. The 64 bit update totally restructured everything. SWTOR-File-Changer, as well as SWTOR slicers no longer works (Slicers defaults now to ExtracTOR, which is supposedly supposed to only read files, not make them. As far as I have found (through talking through it with the AIs), the 64 bit structure is new and not fully understood, and figuring out how to inject the file data is not fully understood. So essentially we need someone to somehow reverse engineer swtor, and use it to rebuild a brand new engine for it. (GPT says it won't help, and DeepSeek says that a community called SWTOR Unleashed would have the technical knowhow to understand how SWTOR is structured).
