Camila Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Hello guys. I've been running into some weird graphic issues with my Skyrim. I created a video to show what it looks like: I tried to run without mods and without enb but it doesn't work. (When i'm without enb there's none of those blue, red, green dots but there's still some weird stuff popping in and out in my screen) I really can't find what is causing that.. and it's scaring me that it can be something related with my hardware. Does anyone ever experienced this or something similar? Or have any clue of how i can find the problem and solve it? Thanks in advice.
Emprah Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 It might be helpful for us to know what kind of setup you are running the game with.

winny257 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 it looks like a hardware problem-out, it could be that the collapses graphic card! if you are using ENB, you bring your card to its Limits. german \ deutsch ! es sieht wie ein hardware problem aus , es könnte sein das die graphikkarte zusammenbricht ! wenn du ENB verwendest ,bringst du deine karte an ihre grenzen .
Emprah Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 If you have any Mods that enhance the graphics of the game, disable them, and try to lower some of the settings to see if that helps. But I've never seen any error like the one you have, so take my advice with some salt.
Uno Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 It's the same with another games? For me It just happen when I use enb+skyrim, but not so frecuently and drastically like in your video...
Xee Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Check your video card temps while playing Skyrim, maybe isn't faulty but just overheated.
Camila Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 It's the same with another games? For me It just happen when I use enb+skyrim, but not so frecuently and drastically like in your video... Just noticed it can happen with other games too. But skyrim is the most noticeable. Check your video card temps while playing Skyrim, maybe isn't faulty but just overheated. What would be a 'decent' or normal temperature and voltage while playing it?
ZepD Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Your card should idle at ~90 degrees F. Under load it should get up to around 120-160. 170-220 is dangerous, this is where you see those types of graphical anomalies, 200+ the card usually BSOD/GSOD and locks your computer to stop any further damage. Nvida is notorious for running really hot, make sure your fan is unlocked / running at a decent speed (you should be able to change the fan speed in your driver suite)
Camila Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 It's 35~36º Celcius idle. The thing got a max of 89ºC while playing for just a few minutes. That's... high isn't it?
ZepD Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 that's def whats causing it then. you were only 11 degrees away from being able to boil water on that puppy. Go into whatever Nvidia has for a driver suite/software and crank up the fan in options, it will sound like a jet engine most likely, but you need to keep it cool somehow. You can also try tweaking certain options like shadows etc... and test it out over extended periods of play to see how it effects your temps. Ex: if you fan i set at 20% crank it up to 40-50 see how that does, and adjust based on that.
Camila Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Thanks for the help / tips guys. It was overheating. I'm afraid i think it slight damaged the graphic card and that problem still happen (not as much as before since it's not overheating now). I will continue to use until it.. um.. it's not usable anymore i guess.. Such a shame it was a pretty good gpu =\
CGi Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 You can try to lower the clock speeds of your card.As it's powerfull enough for Skyrim, you can lower it up to 5% and don't use any ENB. This should eliminate most, if not all, graphic issues. if graphic issues still occours, even tho you lowered the clock speeds, you better get a new graphic card.Because if your graphic card dies while the PC is running, don't think the mainboard gets away 100% unharmed. it can, but i wouldn't risk it. And no matter if you use an SSD or mechanical hard drive, a freezing PC won't do them any good, whereby an SSD would suffer the most.
CGi Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Lower the clock speeds?Thru nVidias control panel... i guess.Haven't used an nVidia since the 285GTX and heard no good things about the thing, they call experience that they put into the driver, so maybe someone else can help and tell you more exactly where to look or what software you might need, in case overclocking is no longer part of nVidias driver. Btw: What was the template for the pic in your signature?
Camila Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 Is it that middle bar over there? (GPU Clock Offset)
CGi Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 To lower the clock speeds by 5%, you need to google the clock speeds of your card and then calc 5% of it. (example 1000MHz: 1000/0,05=50 => 50MHz is 5%)Then lower the slider for GPU Clock Offset and Mem Clock Offset by the calculated amount. The label right of each slider should show -xxMHz then.
Camila Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 mmmm I will get help with my friend later on then. Don't want to mess with things D: Thanks. Here is the original pic from my sig:
CGi Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Thanks, but what's the source of the pic or did you draw it?
Camila Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 Oh. No no it's not my work. I just played on photoshop with the picture. I got it from here: http://anime-pictures.net/
CGi Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Damn. Don't want to crawl thru this site. Was hoping you know the artist. Still: Thanks for posting the higher res version.
