Is there a mod that turns items into money?

There was a mod on Nexus that I used to use called "Philosopher's Stone - Lategame Vendor Alternative" that allowed you to turn items you didn't want into money. The author, however, has set the mod to hidden for this reason: "It's been a heck of a long time since I've worked on mods for Skyrim - I don't even have the files anymore! I don't want to leave up any mods that might cause trouble with peoples' games that I wouldn't be able to fix, so I'm hiding them for the time being."

It's been over a year since the mod was set to hidden (April 25th, 2022), so I don't think they'll be fixing it any time soon.

So is there a mod like this out there?

The Nexus API may still allow you to download it because of the whole Collections thing - no mod is ever supposed to be truly inaccessible.

Edit: Apparently it was hidden before Collections was implemented. API response:

{
  "code": 403,
  "message": "Mod not available: 21935"
}

Of course. I used the mod a month before it was hidden and had no issues, so I don't understand what the author was talking about. All it did was give you a spell that opened a menu, allowed you to store items, then gave you gold. I don't really see how that would break the game, even if the mod was old.

Then again, maybe they know something I don't.

Something I do with mods that have been deleted is look up translated versions then translate them back.

Edit: Nevermind, the chinese version requires the original mod.

I appreciate it. Maybe there’s another mod out there. If there isn’t, oh well. It just made it convenient to get rid of items I didn’t need while making money at the same time.

I saw something called "trash bag" on Nexus once. Far as I remember you could store items in a container that looked like a trash bag and then it would remove them from the game. Not sure if it gave you money though. I never tried it, just saw a glimpse of it while browsing Nexus long time ago.

As an alternative, LOTD has a sell chest once you obtain access to your Safehouse, which would sell all items stored in it after 24 hours for 3rd of their price (which you could raise by various means). Though you'd need the whole LOTD and a bunch of patches for it and follow the mod's questline to a certain point. And LOTD itself is, at least in my opinion, too intrusive, too heavy-handed and significantly alters the way you can play the game to be worth it in the long run. It's fun for a dedicated playthrough, but I would never consider it a staple.

I have a love/hate thing for LotD. I find it fun, but at the same time, it does get repetitive and mundane after a while. I do like how it ties into the ES lore, though. The thing I hate about the sell chest thing is how it takes, as my gf Babydoll says, for-fucking-ever. But seeing how I no longer have a Nexus account and this one's about to be deleted, it'll have to work. I appreciate it, though. Maybe this thread can serve to help someone else in the future.

While the specific mod you mentioned is no longer available, you can explore Nexus Mods or modding communities for alternatives.

I did, but there wasn't any reliable replacements that I could find.

Should I make this mod? It does sound fairly easy.

If you want.

Isn't that called a Store?!

If you are just going to cheat (which I have a few Cheat mods myself) why pick up all that junk in the first place and just add money via player.additem?

I mean if you pick up all that crap, then cast a spell or whatever and dispose of the crap and get Septims it's really not that different and you save all kinds of time, sorting headaches, etc...I don't get it.

Just my opinion, nothing more.

Nether's Follower Framework allows you to sell things via your follower.

You give them a load of items, they run off for a day or something to sell them then come back with the cash. If you want the cash quick you can call them back to you early via the MCM.

Edit: There's also Cyril the Porter. She's a follower that'll go around and pick up junk and then when you're back in town sell it all and give you some of it. You can check her inventory to buy back stuff from her you don't want sold. She starts as a kid but you can age her up through a quest, and once you've done it once you can short cut it when starting new characters.

There is the dremora you can get from reading the black books on Solsthiem, who you can sell to.

Doesn't make it the right/best way ;)

Maybe not, but it's still the way I do things.

I think I have found something of use:

Good news:
When in inventory and I press G, I get a pop up of options including selling the item direct

Bad news:

I need to work out which of my 1,200 mods is doing this...

I made a replacement from what I heard. The stone can be found in the bannerd mare behind the counter, in a chest. Keep in mind that it will only pay the base item value, not enchantments. The file is ESL and LE/SE compatible.

There are several mods available on platforms like Nexus Mods that offer similar functionality to the one you mentioned. Some mods allow you to convert unwanted items into currency or provide alternative methods for acquiring gold. I needed a quick fix because I recently had a financial emergency.my brother tell me about 'No Refusal Payday Loans' from NorthnLoans. I have to admit that the procedure was incredibly simple and quick. this online https://northnloans.ca/no-refusal-payday-loans-canada/ application was simple to complete, and I was approved quickly. It was also impressive how transparent the fees and repayment terms were. I was able to get the financial support I required through this service without having to worry about a drawn-out approval procedure.

Edit: All good now?
