Does anyone know of an animal companions mod where you can use one (or more) of the many animals/monsters in the game as a pet?

 

I've searched nexus and found some mod that lets you have a pet dog. Anyone know a mod with a broader scope?

What excactly are you looking for ? A CM animal companion mod ?

 

You know, with the  TheTalkieToaster "Companion Share and Recruit" mod you can make a companion with every NPC or creature ( but you need to raise their disposition first to do that) ... i use an old "Lolo live " customized mod to do this ... ( Persuation = 100 , Charm = 100  for 10 seconds)  ... after that  i can cast the Share and recruit spell .

 

It 's better to add your own made spell in one of your usual mod ... this is just an opinion , no need to load another mod only for this ... you can also add this sort of spell in the TheTalkieToaster mod ( not the last version, because it use  OBSE , but an old version works well for this purpose).

 

Well but with this a wolf would be only a "follower" not a possible mounted creature ...

CM? Not sure what that means, but just an animal companion mod.

 

I have a similar mod to "companion share and recruit" called "follow me", and I tried using that. It is a bit clunky to raise disposition & decrease aggression for any animal you want to recruit though. Especially enemies that have about zero disposition to everyone other than their own clan can make it a bit hard when you're in a city. Does the companion share and recruit mod also make the recruited enemies friendly to every peaceful NPC?

C & S is a very old and very out of date plugin.  The only thing that is safe to run from that plugin is the esm file.  I recommend dumping everything else (all the esp files) and dump any companion mod that uses it.  MCS (mad companionship spells) is a much more stable and more reliable companion system.  It is better than the CM system as well.

Yes an ennemy became a "friend"  . First you need to recruit  ... at this point his attitude is  "neutral" sometime .

 

After reccuited,  you must cast a second spell to order him to follow you etc ... or just to wait if you prefer.

 

I use this mod in combinaison with the "Corpses Collector" mod ... because this mod make "collected corpse from an NPC or creatue"  an "Quest item" ... so it would never disappear.

All my game and my mods are modified ... each NPC ( and or levelled creature/NPC)  has a maximum of aggression to 95 , and not 100 ( it's difficult to charm somebody or some creature if " agression" is set to 100 ... to need to cast  different charm  spells to have more chance ....) .

 

 

It' s better by trying by yourself :    you just need to go to the " mage zone " ( sorry i don't remember the english term for this " Arcane University"  (???) , ...i think  . There a book would be added in your inventory ... after that no need to recruit the followers introduced by this mod , you can use the two spell as this .

NB : Read the "Comments" section if you download tle "Corpses Collector " mod ... there is a small issue with it in a particular situation ... it's better to load this mod  only after you are caming out the Imperial Sewers  ...  Save  , quit your game and load this mod. After "extracting" a dead body from your inventory , you need to "jump" before doing something ( this is a very little bug in the script) .

 

For the companion share and recruit there is some "tweaked versions too , but i'm not an english user , so i've tweaked mine a long time ago.

 

PS : It' s late for me ( in Belgium) so , short version :  A CM  companion mod need an ESM file ( there are 70- 80 places altered ) ... so no problem for an english user , but this is a big problem for other uers ...

 

 

2) Agression is not all : the personnality interfer  ... so it's easy to do what you want with NPC having a low personnality ( 30 and - )  ....  Charming Guards ( without recruiting them )  is very usefull if you have a bounty too ... ( under 1000)  ... so warning there are some NPCs marked  originally  as "Quest item" , don't recrut them before the related quest(s) is/are done !!!!

 

There is also a very usefull mod : Refscope ( OBSE needed)  : with this mod you know if a NPC is or not marked as " Quest item" .

PPS " ... for their own clan ..." ,  i cannot answer  because my ceatures are all in their own faction ( not all in "creature "faction) , example : wolfs doesn't sleep with trolls  or bears in my game ...   so i don't know.

 

Idem for the "bandit" faction .... i've made many particular bandit factions  , this is for a better compatibility with my SoVvM Br3   personnalysed mod. Idem for "my" DukeCity mod. 

 

You know for a non-english user , all these mods based on an english version can  "ruin"  your game.So each dowloaded mod must be  "custumized ".

Oh yeah, no CM and no CSR in LL. Using them with LPK just asks for a trouble.

If you want to recruit a creature, stick with MCS. That's much better.
