Elxa Sayaka Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 My bodyslide is missing slider so when I get a preset it looks way different compared to the preset I got, so I checked Outfit Studio and there are a bunch of sliders that don't have a checkmark. I tried to re-install everything but that didn't work and I messed up my game up for a bit. How do I get the sliders to work in bodyslide instead of just being in OS?

The outfit you're using wasn't made for your body. The quick way is to load the outfit in OS, load a compatible reference body, then hit Conform All with all sliders checked. Any slider that gets morph data associated with it, will then show up in BS. BS may need to be restarted before it sees the changes made in OS.
Elxa Sayaka Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 Ok I thought it would be something I forgot to check off when installing.
Elxa Sayaka Posted August 5, 2023 Author Posted August 5, 2023 I can't get it to work. But I know I'm using the same body as the person who made the preset so how do they have sliders I don't?
traison Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 (edited) There's a lot of confusion in the body naming schemes. For example, there's a lot of outfits around that are labeled "3BA" that are in fact not the same 3BA as I have. One is 3BA and the other 3BAv2, but the latter label is rarely used even for outfits that actually are 3BAv2. I even occasionally see the 3BBB label used for 3BA/3BAv2, whereas technically BHUNP is also 3BBB (as I understand its original definition). The difference between 3BA and 3BAv2 is missing sliders and mesh changes. The only way to be sure is to either look for these missing sliders, or to find mesh changes that were made between versions. Knowing how to convert outfits between similar body types (ie. CBBE -> 3BA) allows you to not worry too much about if something truly is what it claims to be. Edited August 5, 2023 by traison
Gameplayer Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 It could simply be that the Preset was not set to work with said body type. Example, I use TBD When I open Bodyslide, I have on the panel the "save preset" option. If I use that it opens a sub window that then asks which slider groups should it be working with. Well since I use TBD, I will select TBD slider group. It really is as simple as that. Although there are all sorts of options depends on if every slider for armor made has been set up with a group. The only one that matters for making the presets is the Body Type group name. Fixing that involves using Notepadd++ Yes I have had to correct preset body types and yes it is a common issue, happens all the time not every person that makes a preset really knows what the hell they are doing, in fact most of them have only ever made a preset and then they call themselves, "mod authors". 1
anjenthedog Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) 100% compatibility is required between a preset and the mesh it's working on, or more specifically, the preset has to match the body mesh that the item uses as their "foundation". anything less is a gamble it won't work correctly (boobs sticking through armor, calves not fitting, weird lines on the hips, misplaced nipples, etc etc), or it'll just work partially (ex: building a CBBE armor to a 3BBB player preset or visa versa) This is of course aside from those bits of older stuff that just doesn't play well with anyone. (except vanilla) - my latest player is using "fur boots" some stock vanilla asset with no bodyslide. They look great from the front, but from the back, the player's calves break through due to the different mesh geometries. I could *probably fix that by doing some magic in Outfit studio or something, but that just wooshes over my head so I just cope. And if I was really perturbed, I'd just find some pother bit of footwear that actually fits. So...my one push to avoid these peculiarities would be "only use presets and meshes made for each other, ie they are made for the same body type and version of that body type) Edited August 8, 2023 by anjenthedog
