[mod] Deviant's Mask

I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. I deleted the mod again, made sure it was cleared from my launcher, and then redownloaded the latest version. I loaded up another few games just with this mod and I can't get past the first few months without the game buffering/crashing. 

 

By submission, I guess I meant the lustful vs sadistic path

that is odd, I can run years with max speed from the start, no issues. could be some really specific thing. Sometimes old save games cause issues if they have mods on them, BC they get loaded into the error log. especially if you have like hundreds of them from outdated versions.

I m using the last version of mod without problems. with/without other mods from this forum. So i think the problems didn't come from here.

 

@Fuseli All the bugs => to the hell ) what's about an update?

looks like the hire_a_courtesam_interaction is buggy, the button is grey on all female followers unless she just joined this month, after I deleted the line is_available_ai_adult=yes in is_valid_showing_failures_only chunk, this problem get fixed

btw, I saw this hire_a_courtesam_interaction does not limit actor to be player, but as far as I know, player can not become courtesan, so regardless of actor and recipient setting for this interaction, player can not get the deviant_s;it_hired_maiden trait. Do I understand the mechnics corrently?

the is_available_ai_adult is there just to make sure you can't hire them when they are imprisoned by someone else or otherways not aviable, though since it is already limited to your courtiers, it might be redundant since there are only a few instances where your courtiers are not aviable. 

and yes, NPCs have different courtesan trait than the player.  might rethink it at some point but that's how it works right now. And if player somehow gets the the NPc trait that is mostly to manage courtesans, it does nothing.

When replying to this, I was thinking content such as "male blackmailing women, male getting women addicted to dildos, male blackmailing women who have improper relations with animals, etc." Now that I read your username, I'm not sure if we were thinking the same kind of content. Even if I am wrong in my assumption, it made me think if I actually want to add gay content. Like, the mod is already kind of a unfocused mess in some ways. So I would prefer to only add content that expands on existing content or something I'm personally motivated to do. So any gay content would probably not get the attention it deserves and always feel underwhelming even when comparing to other sections of the mod.

replace the placeholder files in the localization folder in the mod folder with the translation of the language of your choice.

Thank you for this marvelous mod again.

 

I just want to confirm. The immortality gained via this mod is a hidden one, correct? It does not grant the listed trait with the infinity symbol?

It's not the same trait, but it has the same basic properties. And yeah, it's hidden in character creation. "Those Dreams"

Thanks for this great mod!

 

Is it possible to change the appearance of the mask? It would be nice to be able to choose which headgear to use instead of the default one.

I'm not able to do 3d modelling, nor would I do it even if I could since that stuff causes incompatibilities between mods.

Just found you add is_landed restriction to many decisions and events, I guess you are trying to seperate playthrough between adventurers and lords? 

I just want to make sure this restriction is not added to avoid bug. Currently landless noble lord is playable in adminstrative government

most of the events that are is_landed locked would not make sense as landless and since most of them were made while landless was not a thing, there are plenty of things that can bug out or spam error log. 

 

also, admin chars do not count as "landless" if they hold a title. And someone to play as admin without holding titles is a weird edge case. so they woudl be counted as landless only when not holding a title.

if you were playing adventurer, and purchased estate from liege like Byzantine emperor, you will enter the empire with only a family title based on the estate, but without any actual land title. This kind of char is also availiable as option when start a new game

I just tried to play a adventurer with newly purchased estate, and found that decisions like courtesan start is no longer visible, so I guess this kind of character is actully being regarded as landless by the game

EDIT:guess change all is_landed=yes to

is_landed=no

or={

    is_landed=no

    government_has_flag=government_is_administrative

}

may fix this problem?

dont know if indentation matters for ck3 modding, if not, may fix this problem by simply search and replace

I mean using another pre-existing model (“face item” in the barbershop) than the one used by default (the ugly golden nose prothesis) when the character puts on the Deviant Mask (in the decision "Dealing with stress" for exemple)

I also get the golden nose prothesis. I am using Community Flavour Pack, not sure if that is what's causing it to select the nose mask instead of the leper one?

Well, honestly, conversion from adventurer to lords of base game is already very buggy, lost of camp building/maa without refund is still a probllem need fix

So I'd like to give it a try, will post more if I found any possible bug.

As a personal workaround, I use a macro to quickly change masks before clicking the decision (Pulover's Macro Creator works very well).

I'd looked a bit in the game code and found 2/3 things that might give a clue as to how to go about it, but it seems not worth it in the end, too time consuming indeed.

Hi !

I could use some help 😅

I just installed for the first time this mod, downloading the version" Deviant's Mask 1.14.1.5.7z ", creating a mod folder in MyDocuments/ParadoxInteractive/CK3/mod, I unzipped and get the folder and the .mod file.

I am using no other mod or else, I started my launcher and created a Playset with Deviant's Mask activated.

But when i start a game as Duchess Matilda in 1067 or has a custom female ruler over 18, nothing happens, i don't see the "Carnal homage decision" and don't get any decision to get the "Thrill Seeker" trait...

My game is in French currently, did i messed up somewhere ?

if it loaded properly, and you play in French, having an English Deviant Decisions category should be very obvious to spot. And everything else you described should be enough for it to work. Only thing I can imagine is that it's some random paradox magic and you could try making a new playlist and manually adding the mod to it. Or try some custom mod launcher. the paradox one is iffy at best. Though the other ones aren't that good either since the base game is the root to most of the random magical issues.
