Carrying NPC on hands/through shoulder (Suggestion/Concept)

Its a suggestion/concept

 

Since noone even tried to realize "carry NPC with your hands/shoulder", its would be cool feature, very immersive too, should work for alive, dead and (optionally) for knockout/knockdown NPCs from "SexLab Defeat" (integration, optional)

 

For dead NPCs (most simple part) it should just replace from vanilla "drag body after holding E" to "lifting and carring body through shoulder/on hands (with pop-up menu option or random chance 50/50 if realisation without menu) after holding E"

 

For alive NPCs it should be dialog option "Lets me carry you...", after that another dialog switch to options "Lets me carry you through shoulder...." and "Lets me catch you up on hands"

Dialogue option shoud be avaliable only for NPCs, who having opinion to player (2.3 or 4) (friend, ally. lover) to prevent exploit on hostile NPCs or on hostile NPCs under effects of any "Calm" spells/shouts, for (1.0 and less) opinion it would be or no dialogue option avaliable, or just deny by NPS after trying ("No i dont think so")

 

For knockout, knockdown and tied up NPCs ("SexLab Defeat" inregration option) i guess it should work on everybody, with pop-up menu (same as with SLD menu) for chosing "on hands"/"through shoulder", or just 50/50 random chance for both animations

During and right after end of carring NPC would stay same state (knockout/knockdown/tied up) which he/she was on start on interaction

 

Only one NPC at the time can be carryed (obviously)

 

When player carrying smone, he/she not be able to jump, run/sprint (only walking, understandable why i guess) or sneak, usage of "Sneak" button would be used for cancelling animation and put NPC down to the ground

"E" button should work as usual, for interactions with world or even for dialogue with NPCs. including one who is on your hands/shoulder

Its what about concept

For realisation (hard part) - here some mods, which already having some of features, one or another way doing same/helpful things, whick could be used for "Carry on hands" animations

 

"SexLab Defeat" - no comments i guess, many features for compatability and integration (sack, menus, knockout/knockdown for freezing NPC in one position while carrying and for integration with "SLD" itself) 

 

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/86031 "Ride with me" - letting any NPC with token in inventory (also one of the variants for "Carry" mod realisation - with help of tokens in inventory for actors who would be carried and removing this toke ater carry ends) or via dialogue request sit back on same horse with player, static animation but when horse moving NPC moving as well, can be helpfull, using this mod myself, very simple and super cool and immersive at the same time

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/112276/?tab=posts&BH=1 - "Immersive Lap Sitting" - allowing via dialogue option ask NPC to sit on your knees while you sitting, or ask for you to sit on NPCs knees while he/she sitting, mod using spawn/despawn of temporarly invisible chair near actor who is sitting and asked for LapSit. static animation (only chairs, no moving), but can be helpfull, for carrying animation can be usefull invisible beds for example for proper animation frame, or even custom created specially for mod other invisible furniture, allowing positioning of carryied body and static "carryied" animation at the same time

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/29620 - "Skyrim Kiss", static animation for couple, can be usefull for matching body positions of both actors (who is carryed and who is carry)

most of Dancing mods as well i guess (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/29588 for example) for same reason - positioning and matching between actors bodies

(same for any sex-animation pack mods for SexLab as well - positioning, yes all of them are static in space (no dinamic movement of actors in space), but still could be helpfull i guess in term of "actors right and smooth positioning between each other in space")

"Ride with me" has the best features to implement i guess - both actors bodies positioning in proper animated pose. and movement allowed at the same time when horse moving, its what we are looking for "Carry animation", except it would be without horse (player as horse in this case)

 

I guess making smooth animation would be hard (or even impossible bcs disadvantages of vanilla "Skyrim" frameworks and mechanics which should not be fixed/changes) any way (even in "Ride with me" its not smooth, NPC behind player glitching and moving jerkly a little bit, especially on not-flat terrains), but its fine, also disabling players "run/sprint" and allowing only "walk" while carrying should help a little for smoother framing (slower movement = less glitching)

 

Hoping someone would be interested in idea, bcs its really cool and immersive to implement into "Skyrim" game "immersive variant"

(for carrying wounded bleeding followers/allies after battle or during retreat, for romantic purposes with your lover/spouse, for capturing. stealing and dragging away sneakly some bandit from their camp for further interrogation/torturing without his/her bandit friends withesses (or for delivering for recruiting them in your own camp safely), seducing/knockout and carrying smone away into queit hidden place out of eyes as hungry vampire for feeding, and many other role-play/immersive variants, its just for example)

 

Not waiting too much (very possibly noone would wish to realise that suggestion, fully understandable and im not waiting too much), but just sharing idea and concept - it is all i can do myself, and if one day SUDDENLY it would help in realisation and smone would try to do that - it would be super-great and awesome, if not - just as expected and not big suprise so))

Possible, but tricky.  It involves one character riding another.  Then you can change the animation to make it look like one carries the other.  We have had some success with this in Zaz Animation Pack 9, with the crawling collar that makes an NPC crawl and lets you mount and ride them.  This already works, kinda.  When carrying a character, the one doing the carrying is the "mount" and the one being carried is the "rider".

 

Player riding NPC: Possible and already implemented.  So an NPC could carry the player

NPC riding NPC: also possible, I kind of implemented this to have a follower carry a slave, but it stopped working.  (the mounting process involves nasty trickery)

NPC riding the player: insanely hard, it seems.  Maybe something can be done with an invisible vehicle or mount.  I tried doing this by making an NPC that looks like the player, then hide the player character.

 

I'm still interested in making one NPC carry another, at least.  Just have to fix whatever broke in the mounting process, I already have an "over the shoulder" animation for it.  NPC carrying player can also work but I don't have a mod where it makes sense.

I was actually able to achieve this or something close enough to it in oldrim using the method @Musje described with his ride sharing mod. It went something like this-

 

I replaced the player's riding animations for both idle and walking with the male holding in arms animation from OSEX for the idle and used hkxposer to edit a different existing animation for the walking animation by moving the arms around through trial and error (I don't know how to make custom animations), and replaced the passenger riding animation from ride sharing with the female animation from the same OSEX animation set for the carried npc.

 

I then moved something in the nif file, (don't remember what) from musje's riding sharing mod forward on it's axis so that the carried character would be positioned front of the player instead of behind them.

 

Lastly, I set my horse's scale to 0 to make it invisible, and so that my character would be standing on the ground. Remarkably setting the scale of the horse to 0 gave me the same exact walking speed mounted on a horse as it was dismounted on foot, so there was no ice skating effect.

 

I think later on I used the dwemer motorcycle mod as the "invisible horse" because it was summonable and had it's own standalone riding animations for the player that I could overwrite and keep my horse riding animations intact.

 

I could try and recreate it whenever I figure out what broke my game after steam updated it.
