Sickotik's Settlement Expansion Mod

Description:

Welcome to Sickotik's Settlement Expansion Mod, a comprehensive expansion for Fallout 4's settlement system! Take control of your settlements like never before and turn them into thriving communities across the Commonwealth. This mod expands the size and potential of various settlements, allowing you to create larger and more immersive player-built towns.

Features:

10-20% Larger Settlements: Unlock the true potential of Fallout 4's settlements by expanding their boundaries. Build bigger and more elaborate structures, develop flourishing communities, and customize your settlements to your heart's content.

Creative Freedom: With the expanded settlement bounds, unleash your creativity and build grandiose structures, intricate defenses, and beautiful gardens. Let your imagination run wild and craft unique settlements that reflect your vision.

Compatibility: Sickotik's Settlement Expansion Mod is designed to be compatible with other settlement-focused mods, ensuring that you can enjoy a seamless experience while using your favorite settlement-enhancing addons.

Important Notes:

Some settlements may have slight issues with the settlement bounds highlighter, but this does not restrict your ability to build outside those boundaries. Embrace the creative freedom and construct beyond the highlighted edges for truly expansive settlements.

Not all objects within the expanded settlement bounds are currently marked as "Scrapable." However, future updates will address this issue, providing a more immersive and streamlined building experience.

Settlements Included:

Abernathy Farm
County Crossing
Egret Tours Marina
Finch Farm
Greentop Nursery
Greygarden
Hangman's Alley
Oberland Station
Somerville Place
Taffington Boathouse
Tenpines Bluff
The Slog

Settlements Not Included in Initial Release (yet): Due to complex border shapes, these locations will be released in a future update.

Boston Airport
Coastal Cottage
Croup Manor
Jamaica Plain
Kingsport Lighthouse
Nordhagen Beach
Outpost Zimonja
Sunshine Tidings Co-op

NOTICE: These locations WILL NOT be expanded due to their current size being PLENTY.
Sanctuary Hills
Vault 88
Warwick Homestead
Spectacle Island

Future Updates:

In upcoming updates, Sickotik's Settlement Expansion Mod will include:

Integration of DLC settlements, expanding your building opportunities to include Far Harbor, Nuka-World, Automatron, and more.

Further enhancements to settlement bounds, ensuring accurate highlighting and improved alignment.

Additional scrapable objects within the expanded settlement bounds, allowing for a more comprehensive settlement management experience.
Experience the Power of Settlement Expansion!

Unleash your creativity, reshape the Commonwealth, and build thriving communities with Sickotik's Settlement Expansion Mod. Embark on a journey of boundless possibilities as you transform settlements into sprawling hubs of civilization.

Note: DLC settlements and additional settlements mentioned will be included in future updates. Stay tuned for exciting improvements and expansions.

hmm... how does this mod play alongside Sim Settlements 2?

It actually works great. I was wondering myself what it would do in game, since it moves the settlement boundaries. But since it comes after SIms Settlements 2 in my load order, it just changes Sims boundaries. Which doesn't effect anything that mod does at all. Just gives settlements a bit more room. :)

SIms Settlements 2 is one of those mods I can't play without. So I always test with it. And Fusion CIty... And all my Lovers Lab mods like AAF and it's billion sub mods.

Thanks for this. Always wanted more room at Oberland. Also need more room at Boston Airport. Would really like the parking deck and all the way to waterfront there if you havent done that one yet.

I haven't touched the airport yet due to it's EXCESSIVE amount of Workshop Borders and other invisible boxes all over the place, making clicking on what I want, a pain.
BUT, it's on the list. I assume I'll have all the Vanilla settlements complete by the end of the weekend. Parking deck to the waterfront... I'll have to look to see and if it's possible without some problems, I'll do it.
It's going to take a few more weeks with school and my three jobs keeping me swamped before I'll be able to get all the objects in the new boundaries to be "scrapable"... But we'll get there.

If its either or at Boston Airport, I choose the waterfront. Also moving the boundary back into the terminal just a bit so second floor can properly be tied into a new building would be nice. I always play BOS faction. Making that place more build friendly would be nice.

For the airport, open the layer window and start turning off layers. You'll have to drill down to toggle the ones you don't need. It IS a bloody mess otherwise.

I expanded it so it includes the Prime workshop, linking the workbenches to the workshop container, disabling the 2 doors, then expanding the borders out to the water enough for a purifier, just outside the wall next to the bus, and almost to the billboard.

If you go to big, it will cause issues with other "quests". Oh, and don't go to far out in the water, cause you'll constantly aggro the mutants on every visit, which gets annoying real fast.

I also disabled the bus and reworked the navmesh. That way NPC's can get in/out easier.

And doing it that way, you can just use the transform tool to expand the vanilla boarder art & build zone (there's only one).

Yea, the plan was to hide all those bounding boxes before I started working on it. Next to impossible otherwise, really. They're freaking all over the place. A nightmare.

But I really like your idea's about linking the workbenches and renavmeshing. That bus too. All great idea's. I'll definitely do the same now that you've told me about it.
I need to figure out how to get the green highlighter boundary in game to match the terrain. As i'm sure you know, expanding that boundary is easy peasy, but it retains it's old shape, so parts of it end up floating or underground. Which doesn't break anything other than my immersion but, that's annoying enough for me to want to get in there and fix it.

Thanks for the great idea's Izzy. Snootchie Bootches.

Just hold z and adjust it so it's all underground. The bottom edge I mean.

Personally, I don't care how tall it is, but seeing underneath it really tweaks the nipple. Another thing you can do on some of them is flip them 180, bottom is the top.

Alsooo... you can use the boarder art from Bigger Settlements, he gave everyone permission to, and they're taller than vanilla. There's also a tutorial on making them which works great, but copy, paste, rename is waaay faster! LOL

Oh, there's no BA for the airport, but I think it was Abernathy that fit really well.

I am adding height to some of the settlements, yes. Not all of them though. I'm trying to keep it as logical as possible, and make sure people don't melt their CPU's overloading settlements. Plus, everywhere I increase the border I have to make all the objects scrapable.
Greygarden was increased by 500 units upward (Z axis) so you can build a little taller on the bridge. Hangmans Alley is another one I plan to raise up so you can build on top of the buildings. If I could just ever get some free time to finish this mod up.
Someone did refer me to a mod that makes the border highlight taller, so I can sink it into the ground and there won't be the "floating" or "underground" borders anymore.

My problem is making 4 mods at once instead of just one. lol. In my free time now I'm making some posters for JB's Nuka Ride Mod.

Right now my mod is VERY much WIP, so if there's a better one out there, for now, I'd use theirs.
