bruhbruhbruh701 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Hi I've just recently got into modding and I've installed a fat list of skyrim mods (LE). No clue where I'm going wrong since there seems to be no apparent conflict. I'm using vortex mod manager and have a legitimate copy of skyrim. Apologies for not being able to upload load order, have no clue how.
Hex Bolt Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 If you're crashing on start up, I would start with a smaller mod list, verify that the game starts up, then add mods back in, a few chunks at a time, until you crash. From there, you can narrow it down. You might have inadvertently gotten a mod with a BSA file design for SE, but pinpointing the problem is the first step. If you're crashing during normal gameplay, be sure that you have crash fixes installed. Enable Papyrus logging to let you see what was happening just before the crash. 2
donttouchmethere Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Just in case you crash because of memory and need some inspiration how to fix that: 1 hour ago, bruhbruhbruh701 said: fat list and be aware of some of the limits: 1

Yeah I can't find the papyrus logs after the game crashes, I've deactivated loads of mods and it just keeps crashing at character creation

Crashing at character creation: > when does it happen? Choosing hair/HDT hair > do you have Racemenu installed? > does it crash while changing gender? > are you using an Alternate Start?

I'll send ss of mod lists iab. I have racemenu installed and alternate start, it crashes as soon as I load into the game after clicked new game

Most common is: > over 200 save games, skyrim needs longer to load them all in main menu (waiting a bit longer negates chance of CTD) > lots of mods installed and Skyrim is still loading some of those in the background in main menu (waiting a bit longer or restart Skyrim after it was started the first time after starting your computer negates that) > too many/or borderline too mainly FNIS animations registered but no patch installed to negate the FNIS animation limit not sure about that one: > running out of memory > mod conflict with LAL depending on LO > XPMSE issues > bad LO sequence/odd patches for mods > bad ENB settings > defect mesh of outfit replacer/body replacer installed You can post a FNIS output to further narrow it down. Copy past all the text from the FNIS generator window Edited July 7, 2023 by donttouchmethere
