CTD with MCM

As per title , I am experiencing an annoying CTD with MCM .  The problem occurs during the use of MCM in each part is necessary to use . In the various guides on LL , nothing mentions this problem

 

Below is the LOOT Load Order . To the load order , this should be added  GreenTea v1.3.2 for Skyrim LE

 

The highlighted , are the only ones that can influence MCM .
Combination by the way ( Green Tea included ) , in use for several years already without ever having had this problem

I have already tried deactivating the various mods without success .

What does that mean? You get CTD as soon as you open general MCM or you get CTD if you open specific mod MCM?

Well, you are using MO2, what does SKSE or SKYUI overwrite?

 

I'm always skeptical if I see FISS in a LO, check this:

 

3. Place any FISS supporting mod after FISS.esp

(and make sure you didn't overwrite the FISS files)

It occurs when, after opening MCM , I start the configurations ( Generally , I wait for Sexlab to do the self-installation ) , or , when I am in use of the player menu 

I start the various configurations and , poof , regardless of which mod I am configuring ( many , I use the save config provided by the mod ) , the CTD starts

According to what the mod says , its purpose is limited to creating save files of supported mod configurations

I had read around that it could be causing several problems but , it was probably referring to the mod itself , the one in use , is built into Green Tea , and has never caused any problems

Yes lol, doesn't make it more stable tho.

Did you check if it's installed correctly (not overwritten, in LO above all mods connecting to it, so far it's not in the correct place in your LO)

I also doubt it would crash you in MCM... maybe.

Even if it's old I doubt it will effect MCM.

Wait what?

Let's try this:

Overwrite = you install a mod in NMM = you say "yes" to overwrite

Load Order = plugins overrule each other

 

If all the mods you highlighted have overwritten SKSE and SKUI during installation => super bad

In LO = they can't overrule SKSE = SKSE has no plugin

They can overrule SKYUI, but I guess that's normal

 

 

Lets try exclusion method:

> What mods are new to you in that LO? Anything you never used before?

> Did you overwrite (during installation) FISS with other mods?

> Can you move FISS in LO above all mods that use it? Or just move it as high as possible so it gets loaded before anything else.

 

And the usual stuff:

> On new game don't open MCM until all mods are loaded, even better make a save/reload and wait for SL to install before opening any MCM

> Some mod MCM need to be closed after modifying them (instead of jumping right to the next mod MCM)

 

Other stuff you could check:

> on new game after all mods are loaded make a save/reload(wait for SL)/save and check the save for oddities

missing masters ;  generally High Heels and/or Heels Sound
incompatible mods ;  unless unknown conflicts , I carefully read the incompatibilities before downloading/installing

It happens when I do the configures , in no particular order , I just configure them , precedence to Sexlab , it self installs anyway .
It also occurs when I crew outfits , regardless of which ones are

Although I updated it , it did not solve it. It should only involve fights

Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul- 2.0.1 Updated  Having some suspicions , I just removed it , I have to check whether it is the cause

you have to close MCM , wait for activation and continue with the configurations

I also try it this way 

 

Of uninstalling/reinstalling everything does not appeal to me . If I do not solve the problem or , find the cause , I risk finding it again even reinstalling everything

in my opinion, even if it is compatible, it does not include changes to the patch (so described in the mod's post), this does not mean that it is not compatible with other mods, we just need to determine which ones.

I deleted mods .
Now I have another problem that , I think is the source of everything .

This problem has been fixed
I extracted the SkyUI mod , extracted the BSA , copied/pasted in Skyrim data , removed the BSA

I still think you overwrote SKYUI files.

With NMM I would uninstall and delete SKYUI > close and reopen NMM (this step is to make sure NMM is done with writing in skyrim/data thus allows it to modify folders/files again that might be locked because they are used by NMM already) > download SKUI again/or from backup add it to NMM again > install and say yes to all for overwrites (or choose "yes" for every mod  it want to overwrites separately, so you can see what mod includes old SKUI files)

did you remember what you had to overwrite while doing so if anything?

 

I would like to know what of your mods had such old SKYUI files included

These go back to January 2022 . Yes , I have a habit of making copies of Load Orders , they are always needed

Having used them in this order without ever encountering a problem, I simply replicated them this time as well . In the exact same order

 

As far as I know , the only mods that overwrite SkyUi are Dear Diary , Dear Diary Dark mod , and similar , by the way , all incompatible with Green Tea , for which , they are not employed

The various overwrites are performed only where and when required . 

Is it possible that the NMM Update is to blame ?  . If my memory serves me well , it was fine before the Update .  Assuming that is the case, if I reinstall it to the previous version, does anything happen?

I had already tried and , the only solution that fixed the problem was the process described ( extract mod, BSA, copy/paste into skyrim data, remove BSA)

Years ago I had the SKYUI error also and it turned out being one of the Colored Map Markers mods causing the issue. In the comments of the mod they suggested disabling the version check in SKYUI. That would stop the error message. But to me the error is still there, even if the message doesn't come up.

Do you let NMM automatically update with all mods active?

I'm too scared to do that. I'm still on 0.83.5.0 because the updates after that don't make much sense for me, because they are mainly for games I don't even have installed.

If NMM deactivated all mods for the update I could imagine that something could go wrong.

But in this case the overwrites are more interesting than the LO.

Wich would explain why this works, at least until you overwrite it with something again.

 

I must admit I only tried to install multiple HUD or MCM replacers a few times and it never went without issues.

Same thing for me , in fact I no longer used colored icons  . I keep the standard SkyUI

Yes . Having done all the configurations without any problems, I assume that I have solved/eliminated the basic problem , eliminating mods like Odin( I thought I read that , with NMM does not get along very well),
I also eliminated Mod Inferno , being a mod that , mainly makes graphical changes to bonfires,candles,flashlights,spells , causes disturbances on the ENB 

 

My ENB , only this . If there is anything more recommended I add the data of my Computer

Now I am presented with the (old ) problem of transitions . At any area change , CTD . I have already put the fix Grid Transitions but , it does not solve the problem .

But for this, I'm starting the removal of mods until I find the responsible . Or? Other possible solutions?

 

Alternatively , extreme case , what I did here. 

 

Skyrim + New OS + New SSD CTD Startup . How can i solved   Since it has already worked once , it may work again ?

You are the second with CTD on area change in the last days.

Now that I see the ENB series you are using, I had the following issue:

Preparations to install ENBoost:

  • grab Enboost from here:

    • ENBSeries
    • ⚠️don't use ENBseries v0.472, this version causes CTD after any alternate start in ENBoost configuration! Use only ENBseries versions below 0.472! ⚠️
    • last tested and working version for ENBoost: ENBseries v0.434

but maybe that was solved already seeing that there is a 0.479 out.

Maybe it has a new issue? lol

 

I fell back to 0.434 which seems to have no issues with memory allocation.

THAT WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS TO FIND OUT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

I think I have identified the cause , a badly installed mod . However , as often happens , we always realize when it is too late . I had already started to remove and , obviously , since you compromise stability , it was better to start over .

 

Right now ,I am reinstalling everything , progressively , as it should be . I reinstalled NMM without updating it

At the moment , everything is going wonderfully . I would like to see the opposite ,still there is nothing installed but the essentials 31 mods )

Meanwhile, I found out that the problem with SKYUi , was generated by Green Tea which ,even after uninstalling , did not remove All files

I guess it got removed because it was bugged. So a newer version should be fixed (also read that somewhere already that the enboost part was fixed).

So I'm sure you are good to go. It would have become only interesting if you wouldn't have found a solution to your CTD on cell change.
