Good news: You wanted a fanfic about darkelves and gryphons sharing a bed and stuff... here you go!

Once upon a time, in a deep and dark cave, just underneath the lively town of Windhelm, there lived a family of darkelven refugees.

The cave was cold, and the only light came from a well, that wasn't used anymore, as there hadn't been water down here for decades.

The little family couldn't do much about the cold, as they could hardly effort the wood to make a fire underneath said well, but they tried to collect things to make their cave a home as much as they could. They had some furniture, beds, and even soft furs. They also got some candles whenever some money was left after buying the food they nedded to survive.

The family had a son, who was known by the name Aethyr. He was small for his age, and shy, and didn't even want to go out to play with the other children who mobbed him anyway.

During the cold and windy nights that were usual for the area around Windhelm, he was plagued by nightmares and couldn't sleep. Whenever he woke up, he cried for his parents, breaking their hearts more and more each day, because there was nothing they could do to make it better for their son.

One day, they decided that they needed to work even more and even harder, to save up some money, so that they could leave this place and move to a more friendly town in Cyrodiil. the downside was, that they had to leave little Aethyr at home, so they could make money. That made it even harder for the boy.

During the days he was bored, and at night there were the nightmares. So he collected all the courage he could and left the cave one sunny day to play outside in the streets.

At first, it seemed to be the same as every time he tried before. All the children didn't like him, because he was no Nord, no one wanted to play with him, they even threw insults at him or chased him away.

Crying, he ran into a narrow ally and sank down on the floor. He really hated that place. If only they could get away from here!

Then suddenly, a shadow fell upon him. When he lifted his head, he saw a tall girl standing in front of him. Her hair was blonde, and her big blue eyes looked at him curiously. In her arms she held a huge and fluffy plush-gryphon.

"Why aren't you playing with the others?" she asked, holding out a hand for him to grab, so he could get up.

"Because they don't want me." the boy answered with sad eyes. "Because I'm not like you."

"Pah! They're boys, they're stupid!" The girl blurted out and pulled him out of the alley.

"But.. I'm a boy too?" Aethyr asked, wondering why he wasn't stupid then.

"You're no Nord, you're not like them, that makes a huge difference." she laughed, and they played together all day.

Both of them had a great time, and for the first time in a very long time the boy laughed again. He even smiled when they had to go home. "Will you be around tomorrow?" he asked, anxious that he might not see her ever again.

"Off course I will!" the blonde chuckled and looked at him thoughtfully. "You don't believe me, right?" she asked just a moment later, and without hesitating she pushed the gryphon-plushie into the boy's arms.

"If I'm not coming, you can keep it!" she offered, making the boy's eyes light up. "Plus, you can think of me tonight."

She gave him a smile, turned around and disappeared behind the next corner.

For the first time this parents could remember, their son came home laughing, holding the newly aquired plush-gryphon tight. He didn't even want to let it go anymore.

That night, the boy slept deep and calm, with no nightmare waking him up, while he held the gryphon in his arms.

The girl kept her promise, whenever Aethyr left the cave to play outside she was waiting for him, and whenever they met, they shared a great time. However, she never demanded her plush-gryphon back, so it watched over the boy's sleep every night, being held tightly.

And if they haven't died, they'll probably be married now, and have children of their own, whose sleep is guarded by the huge and fluffy gryphon plushie.

Ahh, screw you, Aethyr should be a girl, you sly bastard :P

Good News: I'm probably gonna pull something similar if I have the time :P
