D_ManXX2 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I want to dive into script for papyrus but there so much changed into the entire scripting compared to oblivion or new Vegas that is very hard to under stand why they changed the prefix so much ??
dove-cosy-fad Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Have you checked the Wiki? It provides a good reference for papyrus scripting. Http://www.creationkit.com/ I think.
dkatryl Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Have you checked the Wiki? It provides a good reference for papyrus scripting. Http://www.creationkit.com/ I think. Submit is my first and only mod, and was originally made to teach myself a bit about Skyrim scripting as well as provide a niche that Romance didn't cover, and I used 90% www.creationkit.com and 10% random Google searches and/or reverse engineering someone else's scripts to get me started. So yeah, I definitely recommend that site as a starting point.
dove-cosy-fad Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 And remember like dkatryl mentioned to check other scripts which might have the same purpose then yours and try to understand what the author did there and why he did it. Some modders are also so kind to comment their sources so you know even faster how he/she archived that.

Very important to add comments, that way when someone hands you the code again several years later you don't have to spend nearly as much time asking yourself "What was I thinking?". No tutorial is ever as informative as a well commented bit of working code.
