ballard Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 After getting all my mods set up I ran the archive invalidator on obmm and the skin texture for the body mod I'm using got messed up. I tried reinstalling it, replacing the skin texture with one from a different race, and making a character of a different race, but none of that worked. Hopefully you guys can help me figure out what's wrong. I'm at a loss at what to do. ^-^
gregathit Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 You need to pay a bit more attention to read me files and use BOSS to sort your load order. Pretty sure you are supposed to pick one or the other on the IDKRRR_C_race esp files, the closed mouth or plain version. You also need to not install both Ren's plugins. Pick the full or the hair only and not both. Same deal on the Anime_Voice esp files. Don't think you should have both of them. Also the KT race fix isn't needed when you run UOP.
ballard Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 I'm sorry, I don't know much about this sort thing. I still have a lot to learn. I'll mess around with those files and get BOSS. I'll post back here with my progress.
Happysparkles Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Oh I dislike when this happens. A Simple solution is to first figure out which body replacer your using. For instance, many of the Rob body types are NOT compatible with the DMRA body types. I would try to look for textures (really from any race if you can bare it) that is made with the body type you use From there you can place it in that folder (this would be the next step after running the archive validation above). I understand you do not want to get technical (rightfully so) but one thing to note that lots of different body types have different UV map settings so pretty much if you back is where you hips will be it will not deem a desirable result and you will have nipples on your stomach etc. One reason is like the location of the textures are different, I do not use none DMRA textures but I am sure if you've compared them to another body type you might notice these differences in how the texture maps (.dds files) are positioned. I wish I could break it down very well but I really think searching around for the mod being made compatible for your body is the best solution I can think. Another thing is make sure your imperials look normal, 90% of clothing mods use the Imperial Textures as a base and if that is not compatible with the body type your using, you will end up with texture issues when wearing body types of clothing that keep the default skin path (Imperial is basically the default in Oblivion, this being from a modding perspective) Hope this helps a bit. Edit: the last part is just on the hunch that you may be wearing clothing (unless the model shown is in fact the nude body with undies).
ballard Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 I'm using the Hentai Gentlemen's EyeCandy Body by RAIAR and Madcat221. I'm using the nude version. This happened because I installed some armor replacers, and I ran the archive invalidator. All of the races skin textures are like this now except for Argonians and Khajiit. I ran BOSS and cleaned up my mods like gregathit suggested. Edit: I see what you mean by the skin texture being on the body wrong. It looks like my girl's vagina is stretched out on her side like in the screenshot I posted. I kind of regret running the archive invalidator now :\. The skin texture looked perfectly fine before that.
fejeena Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 If you use HGEC (or DM,DMRA,Manga,....) all females of a races must have a footfemale.dds(Body and feet) and a handfemale.dds Robert's female textures are only 1 texture (Body, Hand, feet in one texture) Vanilla and some other bodies have 4 female textures (FootFemale.dds, handfemale.dds, legfemale.dds and upperbodyfemale.dds) !! all textures names can different, depends on the Mod creator !! The textures path for the Body is in the esp, there must be the correct Name and path. Check your Folders ! (data\characters\ and then in the different races Folders the female Folder. HGEC textures looks like this here a dryad race HGEC Body with Robert's textures. Edit: if all your females have the right HGEC textures then one of your ESPs change the texture pathes of the races, But then there must be also other Body textures in the Folders (some Mod creators pack all textures in the Folders (HGEC, Roberts female and Vanilla) and you must use the right esp. Best to check which textures your races use is load all your Mods in Tes4Edit oben the race Folders in the Oblivion esm and you see all Mods whitch change something at the races (add more hairs or eyes, add eyelashes, Change Body or head meshes/textures). Correct the esp that change the Body textures (Tes4Edit or CS) or deactivate the esp(Modmanager).
ballard Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 The files seem to be where they should be. I have a backup of my Oblivion folder before I invalidated on OBMM. It's before I installed all of the armor replacers. I would really like to fix this though, and go back to my backup as a last resort. I'm sorry if this sounds nooby, but what program did you use to look at the skin texture? XD Edit: Come to think of it. A couple of weeks ago when I first installed Oblivion I was using the EVE HGEC body replacer, but I uninstalled it with obmm and installed my current HGEC body replacer by RAIAR because I didn't want my female character to have massive boobs. Is there a possibility that obmm didn't uninstall it properly and textures are conflicting somewhere?
fejeena Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 HGEC bodies use all the same textures. So the old and the new textures should be fine. Progams to watch DDS files: irfanView and to work on DDS files: PhotoShop, Gimp or Paint.net (all with extra DDS plugin download)
ballard Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 Thank you for helping me so far . It's starting to get late though so I'll mess with the textures some more tomorrow. I'm going to see if I can edit them to make them work properly. I'm not sure if I can though since I've never done this before . It doesn't hurt to learn I suppose. ^-^ Edit: I had a chance to look at the skin textures this morning. They look different from the one you posted. Here's a link a to the mod. http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/15802/? I tried to load up my race in TES4Edit, but it couldn't load the Corean race that I'm using. http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/15568/? I loaded it up in the construction set, and the path went to the right folder. Edit2: I fixed the skin textures, but now the game crashes. I ran BSA invalidation then BSA redirection. Edit3: I fixed the crashing but now the scale of my character is off... Stuff keeps breaking after I fix something. T.T I set her scale in the console but the first person camera is so high up. I tried to fix it in the construction set but it says her scale is normal. I don't think I should be modding anymore XD. After I get all of this fixed I'm going to back this install up so I never have to install all this stuff again lol... Edit4: I fixed her scale and the first person camera. Everything seems to be fine now. I'm not going to touch anything else. >.<
fejeena Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 The texture in your Picture is not compatible with HGEC Body meshes. ( not Roberts female, TGNT body???) But good to hear that your game works again.
ballard Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 Thank you for your help . I wouldn't have been able to figure it out otherwise.
Poontank Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Stuff keeps breaking after I fix something. T.T I don't think I should be modding anymore XD. What you describe is all just the normal inconvenience of any learning process. About everybody has similar effects when starting out, depending on what we are trying to achieve. Please don't ever get discouraged by this one negative experience! Try to look at it from a different angle and celebrate every single little piece of new knowledge gained. Sure, this was an annoying affair. But now you know the basics about different bodies' textures and their incompatibilities. This will invariably come in handy in the future. Using mods and actively modding does include many hardships, pitfalls and setbacks. But solving problems and getting rid of issues on the other hand is very satisfying and makes you appreciate mods and the game even more once everything is running smoothly. Now enjoy a very nice race mod! I was using it for a while as well.
