T_G_B Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 I’m asking here because I don’t wanna be rude to maker I had a load order mess up so I said fuck it I’m gonna test a few quest mods before starting over again vigilant pretty good got to the final chapter decided end there(though ch 3 was a bore) tok not bad didn’t do much then there’s rigmor oh boy is there any point to continue I wanna but so far the only combat I saw was the guards at the Skyrim cyrodil boarder other then that it was 2 hours of talking 2!! Im not making that up started at 10 by the time I got to imperial city it was 12 so rigmor decides to take a nap I go on cool I get to go around my old stomping grounds maybe I’ll check out the arena there are zero shops or anything just doors that go nowhere decided to walk around maybe god into a few ayleid ruins can’t go there ether zero creatures/monster’s on the road too does this mod pick up or no like 2gb for and empty world space with one looooooong ass quest and zero side quests just doesn’t seem worth it
travelmedic Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 I haven't played Rigmor of Cyrodiil yet, but I did do the precursor, Rigmor of Bruma. That quest was much more about story than about combat, and personally I really liked it. I think a lot of the quest mods are more story driven than fight driven. If you prefer more fighting, you may be better off with a mod that adds more enemies to the world instead.
T_G_B Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 Ya I’m that way too but it feels like rigmor of cyrodil is all talking nothing else
T_G_B Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 It kinda is but I’ve only gotten to the imperial city so I can’t really say too much maybe when I figure out how to mod I’ll make a attachment mod adding to the world like if it had shops a few side quests per city with npcs to talk to and general reason to explore the mod would be ace’s but sadly from what I experienced it’s just a huge empty world with a pretty soundtrack and basically just standing there
Guest Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 It is a follower mod, with a Mary Sue quest. If you don't like teenager stories, don't play it. It is not a worldspace mod. There is nothing in the Imperial City, it is empty. There is not even a vendor. I didn't played it, only tested it while scooping for resources years ago. But many people who did says the story is terrible. So I think is more a matter of taste. If you like the Twilight movies, or movies aimed at a very young public, you might like this mod as well.
Also ich denke eher Geschmackssache. Wenn Sie die Twilight-Filme oder Filme mögen, die sich an ein sehr junges Publikum richten, wird Ihnen dieser Mod vielleicht auch gefallen. Well - luckily I'm not "many people" but just "me" ... ...and I have played both Rigmor mods... and for me they are among the best quest mods out there for Skyrim. the quoted "many people" usually don't get along with one circumstance -> they are not the main protagonist and world savior but the girl "Rigmor"! For me, that's exactly what's appealing ... but discussing such things on a sex platform ... now it's ultimately pointless ?
Guest Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Well, Oblivion had the same circunstance, where the world savior was not the character you played, but Martin. From what I read, the critiques to Rigmor are more directed to the romance aspect of the mod, hence why I mentioned movies for a more young public. In my case, the best quest mod I played for Skyrim was Vigilant, which many people also don't like, saying it is a Dark Souls clone. Like I said, it is a matter of taste.
puss2puss Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 so it's basically, a mod that would need a mod to make it a good mod ?

Yeah. They did it the other way around for the next game. In Fallout 3, the player had to lay down his own life for The Good Of All. If you listen closely, you can still hear the howls of protest echoing round the internet.
Miauzi Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Vor 7 Minuten sagte DocClox: Ja. Beim nächsten Spiel machten sie es umgekehrt. In Fallout 3 musste der Spieler sein eigenes Leben für The Good Of All geben. Wenn Sie genau hinhören, können Sie immer noch das Protestgeheul im Internet hören. I don't know - I didn't think it was that great back then... but I guess I still had that "Jesus" complex in me... ...this "sacrificing oneself for the good of the world" - what bullshit. In the worst case, you become the central fetish of a religion and those you believed to save continue in your name just as before. ?

I don't think anyone (apart from Emil, probably) thought it was that great back then. That's why they walked it back in Broken Steel. My point is that I don't remember anyone seriously complaining about Martin laying down his life rather than the player, but when they did it the other way around, hoo boy!
