How do you make gifs?

I've been wanting to know how to do this for a while. How do you take game footage and turn it into a gif?

I record with Nvidia's GeForce Experience and then upload the video to https://giphy.com/create/gifmaker.

How do I use giphy.com? Can I use any recording program?

I think you need to create an account first. Then upload the video you want to make a gif of.

Yep.

I used Adobe Image Ready. Bloody good program that was bundled with WinXP versions of Photoshop... back when Adobe software was still affordable and decent. I still struggle to find anything even remotely close to how well designed, robust and easy to use it was.

Yep.

I just did it! Check out my Nexus mod for "My Real Body", and you'll see a couple of gifs I added. Thank you!
