OrcishOatmeal Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Hi, on my setup, im using a weird mix of skyrim summer overhauls, and other replacement textures, on the way I have fixed overwriting files by splitting them into my own "mods" but ive always had this issue with the grass Does anyone know what this black grass is called/ where it can be found? I want to create a tropical skyrim but it feels like there have been issues with every mod ive tried or they havent been fixed in a LONG time Any help?
anjenthedog Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 idk for sure, but based on the palm trees in the background, perhaps Republic of Maslea?

Dodzh Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 some textures pack require the use of DynDOLOD, if you use this make sure you read very carful all instructions on how to use and set this up the nexus page has some videos on how to set this up. I'm not sure if in your case this is necessary but might worth taking a look

Im thinking its a certain grass mod, ive been disabling some and none of them are fixing it so far
OrcishOatmeal Posted April 11, 2023 Author Posted April 11, 2023 Ok, some progress! After enabling skylighting in the ENB, this fixes them being black, although they are very pixelated (crap texture mod) so far, I assume they are in the Project Rainforest bsa, so how do I delete the grass textures from an archive?
traison Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 (edited) Instead of stabbing the BSA, find the GRAS record that adds it to the game first. If it's a texture replacer and there is no custom GRAS record, then just extract all files from the bsa and delete the bsa and the texture. If you feel like having a bsa is better, then maybe the Archive.exe app included with skyrim (or the CK?) can create one. Edited April 11, 2023 by traison

I got back into skyrim again and I figured out its the Project Rainforest esp, (luckily i have the loose version installed) I've tried using nifscope to delete all the grass records in the esp but then it breaks skyrim (main menu press start doesnt appear) I think i'll just start manually replacing the grass textures and see what happens, some of them are really low resolution >.< Edit: Yep that fixed the issue, its a little confusing as the grass names are changed coz of the esp so need to manually rename some of the grass textures to get them to work Edited June 26, 2023 by OrcishOatmeal
