I wonder if this could be made any more vague? Perhaps by removing the "from trainer" bit from the title? ?

So if I can take a stab, you get trained, pay money then want to pickpocket that back from the trainer?

 

You're at Lover's Lab... Do you happen to be using any LL style mods? If so, and if it was possible in the past to pickpocket the money you just handed to them back (I have no idea frankly), it's possible that one or more of those mods has cancelled that ability. Eager NPCs (I think) provides an alternate "payment" in the form of sex, so *that one might be it,. Or it might be another.
