Hi all,

I am new to Oblivion and also these boards. I have read thru many posts, and am in awe of all the awsome mods and screenies. I had hoped to get a character that looked like the link below, and also maybe some nps'c that look similar. However I have tried an so far failed.

Infact I cant really seem to get much to work at all. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to outline what I need to do, in simple terms for someone new to modding. Also when instaled will I be able to adjust the body at character creation? After trying to instal some sexy mods, I allways just seem to have normal default options at creation?

Anyway here is the link and I look forward to some kind soul taking pity on me.

Jesus...

Look 5 topics belove the one you just made.

Chocolate Night

http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=3126

I did.... downloaded it and follered the instructions, and it did not work for me. Reason being i think that it is just a texture. I assume I need a mesh and a version of BBB too. My point is that I am finding it confussing as to what I need to get the girl i showed in the video.

For example... you need these five files to achieve this... a mesh... etc. Sorry to so vague, but I literally only found out any of this was possible today, so I am really green on this

If someone would be kind enough to simlify the files and steps i need to take to just achieve the sexy look with the moving wobbles etc.

As I said I have downloaded some files and tried to get it working but when i start a new character it just is the same default toons. Got a chocolate elf once... too my joy, but it had default body and just the chocolate elf face... certainly no body sliders or settings at all.

Anyway cheers...

If it's just a texture, you'll need a race to use with it. Races all share the same body meshes for male/females so you can create a new race to likely use these with. If you already have a to use them with 1.) make sure they are placed in the race's texture folder (it's usually Textures/Characters/[Race's Name]). If that doesn't work then check the race's texture paths in the CS. If the shown textures for the race doesn't match with the textures you're putting in you can correct them manually. As for BBB, you'll need body meshes that are weighted for BBB and, the maximum campatibility skeleton, BBB animations. I'd provide links, but I figure it wouldn't be hard to find them on Tesnexus via advanced search. I hope this helps.

Try these...

Textures...comes with install tool.

Abriael Human Races...you'll need to start a new character.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25524

DMRA

Skeleton

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33324

Walk etc...

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32572

Non-vanilla races need either this...

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1815

...or one of the various alternative start mods available to start a new game.

Plus, non-Vanilla races are known to cause problems in the Bruma world space after winning the Battle for Bruma due to the statue not updating properly. This (and other mods) can fix that...

Nice one! I think the best thing for me to do is delete all my files and start a fresh just using those files above. Then hopefully I will not make any mistakes. At the moment I have added various files trying to get things to work, and I think I have mucked stuff up.

Still that is a great help, and I am gonna try and crack this nut ...with a little help from you guys..... Cheers!

P.S I have been also trying to use the Oblivion Mod Manager. If i manually install the above files you have linked, do I still need the mod manager, or can I manually get by with out it ?

CS is somewhat short hand for Construction Set, which is used to mod Elder Scroll Games such as Morrowind and Oblivion, each new game comes with it's own Construction Set. I don't know if CS is used by most the modding community, but I've taken to it's use and I think I might got some of my friends (the ones that mod at least) to use it. I glad I could help. I have to admit, back in the days I was playing Morrowind, the first time I glimpsed the Construction Set for it, I didn't even know what it did. Yet I grew into it. Even now, I'm not very good at modding above (simple) retexting and simple things like making races and classes.

ESP's, meshes, textures, etc. can manually be installed provided you know where they go. Omod's I believe are specifically created by and for Oblivion Mod Manger (OBMM) for the ease of the less moding inclined gamers.

Note that I updated that list. You can try this body too which is very popular and hard to find.

If you're going to try and get Lovers up and running you'll need...

Break Undies, The Pluggy (latest ver), OBSE 20 the Mod Manager as a minimum. BOSS would also be helpful to you to help get the esps in the right order...or at least a working less conflicty order...this is Oblivion, afterall.

:P

Remember, the load order is important. The one below overides the one above if there's a conflict...well...usually...lol.

when you start looking for the oblivion mod manager do not confuse it with the tesnexus mod manager which is a complete pile of shit when it comes to oblivion game mods.

Maylen777 you and I are in the same boat dude. I saw the same videos and now I want to do the same thing. I'm still lost but i'm learning some stuff, you can find lots of stuff in this blog http://paparoach-slowdown.blogspot.com/view/classic ! If I figure out how to make it work I will help you.

Question1: How can I put the 3rd person camera in front of my character ? >_< I tried several camera mods and got no luck

Question2: There are itens I download but i dont know how to add into my character inventory, how do i do that ?

Thanks alot everyone >:E

yocarinha,

1. Don't know on this perhaps someone has some advice but I would search the nexus and see if you can't find one.

2. Are the items a mod with an esp or just a mesh\texture. If a mesh\texture you will have to use the CS to create the armor\weapon\clothing item and save it in an existing esp or make your own new one. If the mod has an esp then check the readme.txt that should have been included (or go back to the site where you downloaded it) to see where they put the item(s). Most modders put items in a chest or sack somewhere in the game world.

Hmmm! That's the problem, I never played oblivion before and I'm not very familiar with the map, lore, mechanics and stuff :P

I know there is a command you can type playeradditem or something but you need the Item ID, i'm still figuring out how to get it.

For the free-flying POV you simply need to open the console (the ~ key) and type tfc then hit enter...then close the console (~ again). Repeat the process to go back. The command tm in the console toggles the menu displays for screenshots.

More here...

Thanks Dawg ! But still its not the thing I want :[

If you watch the video the camera follows the character at different angles (from the front, the back, below). With the tfc command I can do that ?

I have more questions but i will save them for later @_@

Still need to work with some issues i'm having

Thanks again dudes!
