How Do I know the Extra Pocket Mod is... well... working?

Hi All, 

I was browsing the mods category and stumbled across this adult mod: 

 

I've installed it, but I don't actually know how to tell that it is working (aside from mcm).

When I select/equip(?) the spell, how do I select an item to be used in my extra pocket? Or does it only take effect on the last items picked up when over-encumbered?
 

Based on the description, I know that it takes a while to improve this skill, but otherwise, I'm lost.

If anyone knows anything at all with this mod, I'd appreciate whatever information you could enlighten me with.

It's a power, not a spell. You equip it and use it with the Power hotkey (aka with whatever button you press to shout).
