MomoSensei
I posted this on the Nexus forums two days ago but haven't received any response. This is a copy and paste of my post there: This has been an issue of mine for awhile. When I choose lighter colors hairs from the hair color mod I use, the light ones shine like the sun while outside or near lamps. It's never been a BIG issue since I haven't used those lighter colors, until now. I recently downloaded a Snow Elves playable race mod, my female character has extremely light blonde hair (can't get it to white) and white as snow skin. Both hair and skin glow while outside and near lamps and it's extremely distracting and just making this play through not fun. Is there a way I can fix this? I'm not using any lighting mods, complete vanilla light (I installed the Realistic Lighting Overhaul after making my first post on the Nexus forums to see if it changed anything, it didn't and that's the lightning used in the pictures) Only mods I use are armor, hair, race, and house mods. I'm extremely uneducated when it comes to modding so if I need to go into a file and start changing things, please dumb it down as much as possible (this includes things like enb's, ect), thank you. I use UNPB body, in case that matters, I dunno. Pictures 1 and 2: This is basically what my character looks like all the time while outside. Picture 3: Here you can see the difference with her half in shadows, half in light. Picture 4: In some shadows outside, a little better. Picture 5: And finally, she's perfectly fine in complete shadows indoors. Edit: Wasn't sure if I should post this here somewhere else, sorry if it's wrong) Link to comment
Shaydow
There are a few mods I can recommend to you that MAY or WILL fix your problem, depending on how you wish to go about fixing it. IF you wish to leave your character looking the way they do as of now ( so only light skins / hairs / etc for that race ) then I suggest trying http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29791/? this MAY work for you, as this seems to be your problem ( specular skin issue in certain lightings ) . If that doesn't work, just get : http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29624//? ( you will also want to get http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33526//? if you have a lot of hair / custom race /etc mods installed ) This allows you, regardless of your race, to change the COLORS of, well, EVERYTHING. If your skin seems to bright, make it custom. White hair not reflecting right and you would want it black? No problem, even if your custom race only has light hair colors as options, it can be pure black if you wish. After installing the above mods use the console command " showracemenu " . You will be given a menu like when you first created your character. If it is say hair you want to change, select the hair category from the top menu, find the hair color option, and instead of using the slider for that race, click on the little box NEXT to that slider. Now you will have 4 options. The last is the overlay option, if you are not experienced with this, just turn it all the way up. The other three should be self evident. First is the color scale, second is the hue of the color scale, third is the brightness of the color scale. Have fun not only fixing your character, but making them look how YOU want. Link to comment
MomoSensei
I have both race menu and the pre chache killer along with enhanced character editor. I used all 3 to edit the skin and hair color while creating my character. I didn't have to do much to the skin as it was already white as it should be, just made it less grey. That was as light as I could get the hair with them though, I couldn't do white. Not sure if it's the texture with that particular hair or what. Anyway, last night while I was looking for fixes, I tried the no more bronze skin mod. At first I did it manually and followed the directions exactly as written and then tried to install with manager but both times my character had completely black skin, as shown in the picture I attached. Obviously I must have did *something* wrong while installing, I just lack the ability to see what. Link to comment
Groovtama
Here is the explaination why you are "glowing" http://www.loverslab.com/topic/20611-sextreme-loading-screens/?p=485052 your problem is basically: hair/skintexture + hair/skintint => too bright greyscale in skyrim lighting => starts glowing Link to comment

Rayblue
Some ENBs require you to lower the brightness so as to prevent excess glare during daytime. Link to comment
MomoSensei
Some ENBs require you to lower the brightness so as to prevent excess glare during daytime. I wasn't using any when I noticed the problem first with bright hair. Just vanilla light. Link to comment

MomoSensei
Do you use any color mod? or are missing in the hair textures! check times your hair mod. I'm pretty sure I'm not missing any hair textures. I made a new character last night who has dark blue hair and it looks fine, no shine/glow or anything. I am using a hair color mod, it's this one. Plus enhanced character editor and that's what I used for that character in my OP. Link to comment
