Mojang/Microsoft threatened and intimidated Yuti into taking down the 'Kidnap Mod', even blacklisting 18+ servers of consenting adults who were using the mod

Details are in the screenshot, a number of servers including 'vampire castle' are said to have been blacklisted by Mojang due to this. I've heard that they essentially threatened to 'take action' or something and also said that any servers found with the bondage mod will be immediately blacklisted.

 

They allow sex mods, but Yuti's bondage mod which doesn't even have actual sex scenes and abides by all laws gets taken down?

 

We genuinely need an open source alternative to Minecraft I think, in a similar sense to RPG Maker. I guess it could even have a similar world and npc/mob types to all RPG maker games but thats a whole other topic. I do not know if Mojang would be willing at all to make an 18+ only edition to Minecraft despite it being profitable and being able to attract people?

 

I just want them to stop being moral police and trying to control what consenting adults do to each other in Minecraft servers that even basically have age verification? What if I consent and want to play in a server where I can be bound and don't want anybody to step in to stop the players doing it to my character?

From the looks of it, this may have caused Microsoft to go scorch earth with the mods. SchnuttiTV's Patreon got a copyright claim and the F95zone threads of his mod and Hans' got DMCA'd by Microsoft (at least confirmed by the OP of the Hans thread). At least it seems that any new lewd mods are safe and untouched, this may have been just a one time sweep of the more popular stuff

Mojang have emailed users/server owners with threats of legal action for circumventing their server blacklist. We, The Vampire Castle got lucky not to be served with a legal threat, some server owners did not get so lucky. If circumventing it was an option, none of us would be having this issue. However, it's not an option, less one wishes to end-up in a legal battle with a company with more Legal backing than common sense.

That said. Do not use the mod in any capacity if you're under the ages of 18+.

Nothing is ever truly gone, especially on the internet. I have the Jar file for 1.12.2 1.1.4 version of it. So far I haven't gotten it to work, keeps crashing and I don't know any coding.

Never mind, I got it too work now.

you need a version of forge. version "14.23.5.2859" for it too work!

B: You can't ensure that an individual is a consenting adult unless you demand to see an ID which no one wants to give to someone on Discord.

 

C: Mojang is technically within their right to ban this content... Just means you gotta use it smarter.

Mojang could just make an NSFW rating for servers that will be enforced if detected instead of outright banning them that then requires a verification with ID to access.

 

YouTube and Reddit are doing it just fine, so why can't they instead of trying to control consenting adults?

 

I mean giving your ID to Mojang is something most wouldn't have an issue with.

Most people playing it are not children though, they are trying to more so force it to be in the name of what is most likely the belief systems of those who are in-charge. Otherwise they could instead add age restriction settings to any servers found with 'adult content' as mentioned.

Part B I have an issue with. LEGALLY, this website is only for 18+ and when you aver and attest that you are 18+ then it becomes legally perjury. And not a problem for the company.  A discord, Website, Other also have methods to ensure age. Not always reliably, but they do have some things. 
 

All that being said, Mojang & Microsoft should NOT be moralistic busy bodies who desire total and complete control over what they see as theirs. Especially Their OS & their game!

Minetest, its open source, pretty mature, not written in java so it will actually run on potato pcs, it even has a redstone like mechanic and like RPG maker it's kinda a shell and needs filling out. I think by default it has no enemies or even friendly creatures.

Youtube has been doing it horribly, many furry and feral r34 videos, breastmilking and nsfw thumbnails are out there for children to see and reporting does nothing.

As Mentioned above. It is *not* Microsoft behind this. It is literally Mojang themselves.

Heyooo, I was part of the original server run w Yuti's Mod. Would love to be in another like it but it'd be have to be way less conspicuous and likely confined to a private Discord or smth w no contact to minors, that way you can call out the other lewd servers first lol

Depends on what you mean, nearly all of it have been taken down and by the time you commented they still do. Its a large website but the answer is still not to force your "traditional morals" down the throats of adult users who don't believe in them or don't want to believe in them.

 

They could just add age verified servers that require real life ID to access but instead they choose to do that.

Are we talking about the same mod? it didn't even had any actual sex stuff in it lmao, i swear mojang actually turned into next nintendo, their legal team does more with the game than actual devs at this point

 

also for free and uncensored game i really recommend using minetest, the devs don't care about mods and it's basically a finished "game", plus it supports blender so it's easier to make models and animations

There is still the 1.3.1 version of the kidnap mod as an archived file, If someone does pick it up I would hope that they would port it to say 1.16.5 or 1.20.1
