Please help me diagnose another issue I have created NSFW (Solved)

I, having just switched to Sex Lab, and not wanting to uninstall my entire mod list, am asking for help to diagnose this issue.

When dressing my PC with Shorts, they apply, when adding a top the shorts come off, and I can here the noise of them coming off. I am at a loss to know why, or what I can do to diagnose the issue.

This happens with almost all two piece outfits, not dresses, not armor that I have seen, yet.

In the pics one can see they are clearly applied in the inventory.

Any help is most appreciated.

You cannot set it with this npc, however, the armor might still  covering the slot.

It's a problem of the armor, not the npc.

Give this armor to another npc or wear it self to make the setting.

Or, as alternative, add the keyword via xedit to the armor piece.

Look at this list for a complete list of body slots in Skyrim.

Your Black Talon cuirass is slot 32, which according to the list is "whole body" so that's why it has your character take off the shorts.

In xEdit you ought to be able to change that very easily to a different slot, maybe try slot 46 for the cuirass?

Let me add, it looks like you also need to set the armor slot in Nifskope.  The complete instructions on how to set in Nifskope are at the same link that I already posted.  It shouldn't be too difficult.  It also has instructions for setting it in the Creation Kit, but probably xEdit (TES5Edit) is much easier and quicker.

I do not know how to run those tools properly, This just happened after I installed a set of SL mods, before all was working fine.

Also I am out of likes,  thanks for trying to help me.

Using Devious Devices? Turn off device hider in its MCM.

Correct! Thank You, I had left these all on Default settings, I had no clue, I wonder why the default is set that way?!

Thank you very much!

Because in most cases you want the devices to be hidden under the clothes. If you're using DD 5.1 it will apply to all apparel that takes any of the DD slots. So skirts, panties an whatnot will disappear if you equip any slot 32 item. Supposedly DD 5.2 fixes that, but I haven't tested it yet.

5.1 hides all apparel that takes any of the slots where DD are normally used.

Here's a reference table: https://github.com/DeviousDevices/Docs/wiki/Slot-Usage-Reference/

Any equipped full body item (slot 32) will make it so anything equipped in slots 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 (unless SoS_revealing keyword is attached), 53, 56, 57, 58, 59 will be hidden if device hider is enabled. It doesn't matter if the item is a piece of strings that barely covers tits. If it uses slot 32, it will hide everything mentioned above.

Skirts for example often use the same slot as chastity belts. So they will get hidden when you equip any top (slot 32 ) part, because there is no way to differentiate between a regular vanilla clothing, that covers the whole body and the skimpy ones. Slot 32 is slot 32, regardless of how much skin can be seen.
