FayeNailo Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Hello! I'm new to Skyrim modding, and looking for recommendations starting out regarding mods in general. I've looked around a bit, but i'm unsure what works with what (or at all anymore). I suppose if there's one specific thing i'm looking for regarding lewd mods, it'd be some futa mods. I think some mods that add natural (sexual) interactions to the skyrim world would be nice as well. Otherwise, in the meantime, i will keep looking for up to date mods. Thank you!

travelmedic Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Start slow. First thing I would do is pick a mod manager and learn to use it. Your two best choices are Mod Organizer 2 (I think the latest version is on GitHub these days, but you can find it linked from Nexus) or Vortex, the mod manager that Nexus offers. There are other mod managers, but those two offer the most features and are the most up to date. Personally I really like MO2, but there are a lot of people here who prefer Vortex, so there is no shortage of people here who can help with either one. Once you decided, there are good tutorials on Youtube about setting up your mod manager. I highly recommend two channels - Gopher and GamerPoets. They both have some really good lessons on the basics. Some of their older content might cover Mod Organizer 1, but many/most of the principles of MO1 are the same as for MO2, if you choose that option. Those same two Youtube guys have other tutorials on some of the other tools you'll want or need: XEdit/TES5Edit, FNIS (Fores New Idles in Skyrim) and Wrye Bash are the three most important tools you'll want for modding Skyrim. You'll probably also need Bodyslide. All of those tools are available off Nexus, or at least linked there. There are also some excellent pinned threads in the forums here that can help get you started - take the time to read through those pinned comments, because chances are all of the questions you will have, have been answered here 10,000 times already. You'll need body replacer mods for adult mods to work. Only pick one body replacer for men and one for women. If you pick more than one they'll just overwrite each other and cause conflicts. It's not like you'll get more varieties of bodies in your game. Only install a few mods at a time, then test your game and see if everything works. Be prepared to fail (we've all been there). Installing only a few at a time makes it easier to find and pinpoint problems if they occur than installing 200 mods at once and then trying to find the needle in the haystack. Once all of your mods are installed, you'll need to learn to make a merged patch and bashed patch. Not nearly so difficult as it sounds, and there are Gopher and GamerPoets videos for that too. As far as what mods to install, no one can tell you that. The only person who knows what you like is you, so it's up to you to do the work and find the mods that you like.

Which specific version are you using, You will need to know as all the mods you pick will have to match those numbers. Just above the blue line in the pic below. SKSE from Silverlock.org will be the first addition, https://skse.silverlock.org/ Installation vid on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdtf0LwWHvk Be watchful on the install instructions on the mod page and follow them, missing steps has consequences, ask me how I know that?! Good Luck.
